Tortellini Pomodoro
Debbie W.

It's been a while since I visited this place in Vancouver area. I've never been to the one in Richmond, thought I'd give it a try. It's a family friendly restaurant. Lots of young family come here after bowling and movies. The location is great for its business , with a constant lineup. We waited around 20 minutes, then the host took us in. It wasn't as busy as I thought it would be, but maybe because it's so spacious inside. I like the old fashion decor, it brings people back in time. The food quality on the other end, needs some improvement. We ordered some house made salad, which tastes like store bought pre-mix salad, very dry and stale. The steam mussels were also very salty and overcooked, barely any sauce at the bottom. We ordered the Tortellini Pomodoro, which was also over cooked. It's missing that Al dente taste in the pasta dough, at least the cheese was freshly grated. Our daughter usually love lasagna, but she didn't like the one we ordered. Interesting enough she thinks the Costco brand lasagne tastes better! Overall. The food quality was rather a disappointment. At least our server was friendly and the service was great. I'm not sure I would go back, as there are some other options in the area.

Another nostalgic place I visited with friends. Glad this place is still around ! Interior and exterior looks the same as well as most of the menu. There were a few changes to the menu, but they largely kept the same items. Dinner comes with garlic bread, salad, tea or coffee, and ice cream (spumoni or vanilla). How could you go wrong with that :). I had the seafood linguini and was not disappointed. I actually think they got better over the years. This place is huge and great for couples, families with kids, and big parties. There is free parking at the lot. Atmosphere is casual.

Attended the old spaghetti in Richmond for a non Christmas party. There were about 40 of us and we had two waiters. Due to the reservation we were seated immediately. The waiters had a system to deal with such a large crowd. They were a bit slow until they got into their groove. Price includes soup or salad, the main meal, bread and dessert. Most items on the menu ranged around 20 to 25 dollars. There was plenty of food for everyone. One problem I had was that it was very noisy. There were no reservations for small groups so there was a lineup and a wait. I couldn't tell the time of the wait. Although I did not talk to everyone but the ones I talked to enjoyed their food and had no complaints. It has been a long time about 10 years since I was last there. Nothing has really changed which fir here is good.

Glorified whitebread hotdog bun - shrivels when it cools- no sign of any sourdough, like the good ol'days

A qualified 3 star. Why? No more mushroom sauce No more clam sauce for my Manager's Favourite. Salads included are smaller. Appys are smaller The sour dough bread is NO longer sour dough bread. It's just warmed up big@ss hotdog bun that shrivels up when it cools down. higher prices == avg 20-21 bucks a meal - salad coffee/tea ice-cream included. decent service. Welcome to 2024 n beyond.

The price for the food is not bad. Large space with tables can take up 20 people no problem. The waitresses are a bit panic at the time when we are checking in. We were party of 7 people and there were also 2-3 group of 12 and 8 people also booked the same time (6:30pm) Maybe try to book a bit earlier or later next time. Took more than half an hour later to take our orders.

'Ello Chaps, Old Spaghetti Factory may lead you to believe it's a Canadian Olive Garden of sorts, but on contrary, it's far more than that. With more than a dozen locations throughout Vancouver (and Canada), The Old Spaghetti Factory got its start in the historic Gastown district of downtown. The restaurants feature stained glass, antique light fixtures, vintage artifacts, and good food. As the name suggest, there's plenty of pasta to choose from - spaghetti, alfredo, lasagna, manicotti, linguine, parmigiana --- but there are other seafood, chicken, steak, and ribs options. Ask for extra bread and butter - it's divine. Overall I give Old Spaghetti Factory four stars out of five.

It was busy so service was a bit slow. I found the food kind of disappointing for the price. It seems to have gone downhill a bit. The spaghetti was lukewarm. It took a long time for the bill to finally come.

Just love this place! Had the best service by a wonderful waitress that made our stay there so pleasant. We ate there at about 4.00pm after seeing a movie at the entertainment complex across the street. They serve the best Spaghetti and Lasagna. Love that you get complimentary Garlic bread and a choice of soup or salad as well as complimentary ice cream as desert. How good is that! Highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back and have another meal.

Calamari and Bam Bam Shrimp

Greeted with a friendly server, appies came really fast! They have happy hour from 2-5pm everyday which is why I ordered calamari and the shrimp. I like the calamari, very chewy and crispy! I ordered the pesto "linguine" but changed the noodle to fettuccine because I like their fettuccine texture. My friends and I enjoy coming here after movies or watermania, this old spagetthi is located at a great environment :)

Chain spaghetti and pasta restaurant located behind the SilverCity Riverport movie theater. It's a pretty big restaurant with its own parking lot. Been there only for lunch on weekdays. Once there wasn't many people, while the other time it was doing decent business thanks to some larger parties during the holiday season. The menu is on one sheet, and it has its signature varieties of spaghetti and other pasta dishes. Many of the entree items include either soup or salad to start and a small scoop of ice cream for dessert. Got the chicken alfredo the last time I was there, and it tasted decent. Portion is not that big, but not too tiny. The starter minestrone soup and the ice cream didn't taste anything out of the ordinary either. It's a chain restaurant where you know what the food will be.

Our visit was on a Wednesday evening around 6 p.m. Due to the construction going on around the neighborhood, it was a little challenging to find this place, even though my friend had Google Maps to help her. I was surprised that there was a restaurant, as there was not any other places around. My friend was even more surprised that there was a restaurant so close to her neighborhood! It looked like a lovely home, there was a lot of brown and orange colours throughout. When we entered, we were greeted by a friendly young lady. She took us to a seating area by the window and brought us the menu and cold glasses of water. There were so many items on the menu, it took us some time to narrow down our picks. Thankfully, our friendly waiter helped us out by providing his recommendations. Finally, we ordered an Insalata di Cesare (Cesar salad, regular size) and a large dish of Marco Polo (linguine with diced chicken breast, baby shrimp, spicy Italian sausage, and mushrooms in a spicy tomato sauce with touch of cream). When our dishes came, we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of food! We had a great time eating like queens- the salad was fresh and crisp, plus the linguine had the right balance of sauce and ingredients. Then we requested the remainder to be packed, so that we could enjoy them at home. During our meal, our waiter came by a few times to check-in about the food and anything else that we needed. We loved this place so much that we came back two days later for another dinner. As expected, the service was warm, the food was fresh, and the vibe was homey- we loved it all! Check this place out, you will love it as much as we did!

There is a big parking lot, or lots of 3hr street parking. We arrived at golden hour and there was nice lighting and views at the window. They also carry some cute merch! Food came out quick unlike what previous reviews said, but I didn't like that one entree came out much earlier than my partners - so naturally I waited for her's and by that time, the uni sauce had kind of thickened up a bit too much and the pasta had clumped a bit. Croquetes were tiny - $8/ croquette. They were nice and crispy, but the tomato sauce tasted a bit plain. Would I return? If I was in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way, and definitely not without a reservation. I think its a bit overhyped on social media.

The service was also great, with multiple people checking in on us. The corkage, at $20, is very reasonable and the restaurant even comp'ed our tiramisu! We will miss it once it is gone. The food was quite decent. I thought the prices were a bit inflated for just pasta, but the portion size was pretty massive -- most of us took leftovers to go. The sauces in general were a bit bland and the pasta was definitely cooked to beyond al dente, which isn't my preference for dried pasta. That said, the toppings were generous, especially for the linguine crab that I ordered (would highly recommend!). Come by before they close permanently!

Creamy but not too heavy I wish it had more bacon but it was delicious all around. The daily special veal was also amazing. It was an unmemorable experience due to what most restaurants & businesses at that time were trying to get over. The lingering effects of the pandemic were devastating to this industry & others. What had been done to all, especially the restaurant industry - shortage of staff, difficulty rehiring, cost to run businesses escalating rapidly etcetera ... made things difficult to get over. So I found eating there at that time to be kinda boring. Move over to today - 2025 & voila - what a difference. There's something on point about the vibe here at this location - Kitsilano (Kits) Beach. Our server was awesome & funky. The Kale salad delivers 100% on taste = tremendous! The Gnocchi - munch, chew & chew = ahhhh. The Sausage & Chili pizza was done right! The crust was thin & tasty. The ingredients were delicious. This one has a slight kick to it. We had a splendid time eating at the communal table (full house this afternoon & only table available or wait 1 hour) & thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. This is a cozy location where the cool people come to eat & be seen. Italian themed but so much more. If you're down here at Kits Beach & with a group of friends - I highly recommend you pop in!

Insincere servers fishing for tips…read more We showed up for lunch. The place looked nice. The hostess said the tables in the covered patio were reserved but the group won't be coming for an hour so we can eat there if we want but we have to leave before the bigger party gets there. She recommended we sit further away on hard uncomfortable seats in the wind. What the heck? It was uncomfortable then another waitress with light brown hair came by and said "is there a problem?" I said "we would prefer to sit in the covered patio" She said it was okay but kind of made kind of a big deal about it. Treating me like I was being difficult when actually I was very polite considering how they were treating us. Reminding us repeatedly that a larger more important party is coming in an hour and treating us like we were a burden. It honestly just seemed like the servers are only thinking only about their tips and not wanting to serve a small family. She ignored our table the whole time. I didn't get any Parmesan. Because she never stopped to ask how the meal was. The server had someone bring the food. It wasn't even busy. She just didn't care. Our server basically did nothing but avoid us. The only time she was remotely friendly was when she handed my spouse the bill. Obviously fishing for tips. She asked what we are going to do after this and as I answered she looked away like she couldn't give an F. These bad servers need to go. Bad service always ruins a business. It really doesn't matter if the food is good when the servers are rude. We won't be coming back.
