Made by hand...literally. I ordered the greek salad with chicken shawarma. You can see station where they make the salad (back door of food truck was open) and the person makes the salad by hand- no gloves needed apparently. At one point he picked his wedgie while making the salad, so there was a hint of feces in the salad, a nice touch that really sets this place apart. After a long day of hiking, beggars can't be choosers. It was actually really delicious. Some gloves during food prep would go a long way here. read more

This was a nice little patio lunch spot...which we love so our dog can come! We had the gyro, hummus and the chicken shawarma /falafel bowl. They normally serve it over tabulah (sp?) but they were happy to also add half hummus...and it was delicious!! They were pretty busy, but everyone was very friendly. Came here after a hike and thoroughly enjoyed the food, lots of vegetarian options. A bit pricy as extras such as olives and feta cheese were $1 each, but the food and service well made up for it. It's situated just off the main street with tables and umbrellas to sit under, which matched the vibe of BV just right. The guys working were friendly and you could tell they enjoyed where they work- they even gave my dad free fries! Definitely stopping here on my next trip through BV. read more

The olive is great and I never have any issues. I'm pretty sure this is her sister truck next-door. living here, I order from the Olive at least once a week, in the summer when they're open a lot. I tried their sister truck the roll tide this past weekend. I was not as impressed. I lived on the Gulf Coast, a lot of my life and make po boys always at home for a reason living around here lol.. whenever I see somebody that's gonna make something with fried oysters, I have to try it around here . it was very small for the price and to me, a poor boy should be bursting with whatever you ordered on it whether it be shrimp or fried oysters. If you cannot offer that, I wouldn't even make it around here because people come here from the south or other areas and they expect it to be a certain thing. I've lived up here for 17 years and I usually just make these types of dishes at home because they are usually very small and expensive here for food that's actually indeed to feed the "poor" in the south .. hence Po boy! Lol I get it. We are in a landlocked state, but oysters are all coming from a can and are very easy to bread and give a big portion of . The bread was not good with this sandwich and that is the next most important thing in a po boy . It was hard. I buy a much better roll at city market when I make Poboy at home. Maybe I just had one that had been sitting out for a while. I don't know. It was also a very small size probably the size of a bratwurst hotdog and a Poboy to me should be the size of a sub and on a traditional French bread hoagie roll . I think Buena Vista has their own size hoagie roll here so they can charge you $16 for a sandwich with no sides and an up charge if you want enough roumalade to coat the bun. There was probably 4 to 5 small fried oysters on the bun. there was no good flavoring in the breading. The sauce was like not even there I had to ask for extra .It certainly wasn't like heaping with oysters or anything when you took a bite. It was mostly just lettuce and tomato. Buena Vista just needs to understand if you're gonna serve a specialty type item like this if it's too expensive to do it in this area then just don't do it. If you have to put four oysters on a 16 or $18 sandwich then just don't offer it lol everything for food here lately it's just such a disappointment and totally catered to tourist. If I had 20 minutes and a couple of the ingredients I could make a po boy around here that were knock your socks off. This unfortunately, was not it read more

I will start off by saying that those were AMAZING euros. I have been to Greece with my family so I know what a real euro tastes like. It brought back memories of my favorite euros in Greece. We went back to The Olive against the next day. I would say that they were swamped and it took a little bit but nothing we couldn't handle. They didn't leave off some toppings on one of our euros, but it was better with them. We also loved the outdoor seating with the umbrellas. I would say bring a sweatshirt though! read more

They're making up some tasty Gyros in this little trailer in the middle of town or wherever the hitch takes them. We found them while enjoying a whiskey at Deerhammer across the street and were glad we did. It made for a nice meal at a decent price. read more

This place was perfect. Inexpensive and delicious. If you go here you MUST order the spicy pickle fries. They are pickles in the spear shape of a fry and it frankly blew my mind. They were perfectly spicy, perfectly pickly, and fried (obvs).
