The bagels are good but the majority of time I have been lately the service has been at best weird and at worst rude. I gotta call it this time and stop giving them chances. I'll still go to the beach one when I can, but as a downtown resident I'm crossing this off my list. Grabbed my daughter a quick bite on our way to the beach. She ordered the bacon, egg and cheese bagel with hash browns. This place was very cute, service was good. My daughter considers herself a breakfast bagel connoisseur and she said the bagel sandwich was just ok, the hash brown did not meet her expectations. Good bagel and a decent price point. It's centrally located (downtown location) but I was able to find street parking easily. They have helpful staff and a good vibe inside. Plenty of seating. I got a salt bagel with egg and cheese which was very good- a little smaller than I expected (I'm from NJ so used to huge bagels). This downtown Wilmington outlet of a place that originated closer to the beach has a wide bagel-based menu. I was impressed by their range of vegan options (and indeed kind of kicked myself for getting regular butter). It was easy to pay and quickly ready. The sundried tomato bagel had the tangy, savory flavor I expected. The bagel itself was fine, but not a great bagel, fairly bready and not rich and sour the way the top notch ones are. Still, I took a couple more to go, and it was a nice breakfast at a good price. Some outdoor seating in the area was available. read more

The only downside is that the mobile app was a little cumbersome and they added a last minute upcharge when we picked up our order because something on the app didn't come through correctly as a "combo". Of all the bagel stops I visited in NC, this was probably my least favorite. Don't get me wrong, they had a few tasty choices -- including cheesy bagels and a sundried tomato. But compared to other shops, they were less flavorful and didn't hold up as well when you freeze them. Plus, THE LINE and the Covid protocols...Oh my. It took forever to get our order in. Maybe our fault for wandering in to place it instead of ordering ahead and getting it through the carryout window. But overall, just sort of alright. I had pictures, but managed to lose them from my phone, so oh well. In general, if I'm back in the area, there are a couple other spots that were KILLING it on the bagel scene that I'll revisit. Tagged along with my bf during his work trip and found this spot. I'm 6 months pregnant and I was really craving bagels so I was devastated when I finished up ordering and realized I had left my card with him and he was then at work. The very nice guys who worked there handed me the bagel anyway and told me to just come back the next day. You could find me 10 minutes later sitting on a random bench crying and eating my bagel because I was so happy by their kindness. Today was the last day I'll be coming here. I've never had a pleasurable experience ordering here; however, today was the straw that broke the camels back. I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and waited 15 minutes past the 30 minute order ETA.... Yes. 45 minutes for a bagel that takes 30 seconds to prepare. They said they were busy, but I've seen it busier so I don't buy that as an excuse. If you're looking for a better bagel and overall experience I highly recommend checking out one of the many other bagel shops in the area such as empire bagel or S&L bagel.
