Came here for the famous chicken salad after being recommended to try it by long term locals. Glad I did! About $13 for a pound, it's a lot of food and will make at least 4 sandwiches. Will be good for crackers, too. Delicious to purchase to go in the tub. They also have premade sandwiches available and other dips (think pimento cheese). Ambiance is just a regular ole convenience store. Service is the same. Walk in and walk out. If you like the chicken salad and don't live locally to Wrightsville Beach/Wilmington, they supposedly sell it in Harris Teeter locally (including Mt Pleasant/Charleston, SC). read more

I have heard that Roberts chicken salad is amazing, so I decided to pick up a sandwich on the way to the beach for my lunch. The grocery store is small, but they have a nice deli selection of chicken salads (I got a lowfat on wheat), deli salads (I got the Italian artichoke pasta salad), and pimento cheese. My sandwich and pasta salad were very delicious! I don't like sweet chicken salads, I prefer savory, so this this was right up my alley! Next time I'm in the area, I'm going to try the jalapeño pimento cheese and get a tub of that chicken salad! read more

This grocery store has nearly all the essentials to stock your fridge (or supplement what you already have because you forgot something - like myself!). We stopped in for mustard, which I forgot. But we also picked up Nye's Cream Sandwiches which seem pretty popular. They're homemade ice cream sandwiches in paper boxes. They also had cookies, tubs of ice cream (Breyer's, Ben & Jerry's), muffins, brownies, and a lot of sandwich fixings/deli salads, fruits, basic veggies (potatoes, onions, garlic, avocados). Came in for some bottled water. OUCH, very expensive! Guy at the register not particularly friendly. Needed a quick breakfast while on the island and ordered 2 coffees and 2 croissants for us in the adjoining ADAPT Kitchen & Juice Bar. I couldn't even get back to my car without the coffee (which was piping hot) pouring out of my coffee cup due to a poorly lidded coffee cup. The coffee was down the front of me, burning me and some sweet man stopped to help me on the street! Once I got into the car, the coffee was still pouring all over me because the cup was so crappy! Robert's really does have the best chicken salad and homemade pimento cheese! Both are made fresh right in the store. The hoagie rolls are so soft and fresh. Trying to find parking and paying a meter sucks, but it was definitely worth it. read more

I love Roberts! This little shop is right on the beach and offers everything one would need while staying by the ocean. Pre-made sandwiches and wraps, fresh goodies, drinks, etc. Also offered is everything (condiments, groceries - pretty much anything + more that you'd find in a local grocery store). For the best part, Roberts chicken salad is hands down the best I've ever had - GET A CHICKEN SALAD SANDWICH OR CONTAINER. It's a little pricey but so worth it. I buy Roberts chicken salad almost every week, at my local grocery store in Raleigh! My friend and I recently went to Wrightsville Beach. We stayed at Station One which was conveniently located within walking distance of everything we needed. We went here for a few odds and ends. They have a To Go lunch area with Boars Head products and a hot lunch bar. We got 12" subs so we could eat 6" now and 6" the next day on the beach. This worked out great and he was so sweet and helpful. He wore a mask and gloves. Wrightsville Beach is doing a great job of taking safety measures to make you feel safe. So much so, that I emailed their Mayor, Darryl Mills. I will definitely visit again next year. read more

Since Roberts market is the only grocery store on the island, you can't beat the friendliness of the associates and availability of products. Their small little deli in the back of the store is fantastic. Prices are much higher here than grocery stores a few miles away. But, you cannot beat the convenience. Definitely recommend. read more

Stopped in here Saturday morning for the best beer on the planet. Busch Light! Beer is fairly priced however a 10 pound bag of ice is 4 bucks! What a rip!! Staff wasn't very friendly and should focus on customer service and be thankful for patrons. They make you wear a mask inside but when buying alcohol you are asked to remove the mask so they can match your face to your drivers license. This defeats the purpose of making patrons wear masks if you ask me. Due to price and customer service I'm giving this business three stars. read more

We stopped in here one evening while staying at the Harbor Inn across the bridge. We were pleasantly surprised with the options this little market offered. The BEST! They have some amazing pimento cheese and stellar chicken salad, but if you have kids who want a treat they have cookie ice cream sandwiches and they are divine! Made in store, they are so darn good. It's super convenient and has some good things in stock! In the other side is a little shop, it used to be donuts but I think it's being changed. This place used to be fantastic. A great little grocery store, where you could everything you needed, and they had great hot food, homemade baked goods, and other take away items. Now, however, the shelves are almost empty and the grocery selection is atrocious and horribly over priced. I don't know why they got rid of their produce section, but it was a real bummer having to go across the bridge to Harris Teeter to get even the most basic groceries to stock the kitchen with on my recent vacation. The hot food and take away items are also a little iffy now. Robert's, you used to make me so happy and were always a staple of my vacations at Wrightsville Beach, but now you just make me sad. read more

This is one of my favorite places in Wilmington! They have excellent homemade food from their deli, along with a fully stocked grocery. As if that wasn't enough, they have a Starbucks, a Rita's, and a Boombalatti's. It's all quite tempting, but I usually get their Fried Chicken, cobbler, and mac n cheese. Nice little market but the real draw for us is the Nye's Cream scoop shop and ice cream sandwiches. Don't bother with the other ice cream on this little strip--Nye's can't be beat. I especially enjoyed the combination of key lime/toasted coconut in a chocolate waffle cone (waffle cone is included in the price!). Visit Roberts each year we come to Wrightsville. Best place in town for Gourmet Donuts. Convenient and good coffee as well. This year I decided to head to the back and get an egg sandwich from the "hot breakfast and lunch bar". When I asked for an egg sandwich, I was pointed to a tray of pre-made egg biscuits sitting in food warmer. Grabbed one, took a bite and throw it out. Eggs were rubber, biscuit was hardened. Best part is I went back today for coffee and decided to give them another try...same tray of biscuits this morning. So I asked the man behind the counter if he could make me a fresh egg sandwich. He promptly told me he ran out of eggs and pointed at the tray of decaying biscuits. For almost $4 a biscuit, you would think they would have better service and attitude. Two things: (1) I am "convinced" that they use some sort of "addictive" in their chicken salad and should be reported to the authorities! I cannot stop buying it wherever I am via Harris-Teeter. I've tried to find comparable chicken salad elsewhere, but cannot locate any that comes near to the delicious flavor! (2) Unfortunately, I've noticed that lately, there seems to be an increase of large chicken chunks (not cut up smaller) and these don't "smear" as well onto my bread. The cutest market! Unassuming from the outside but definitely worth stopping in. I had been told to get the chicken salad and it did not disappoint. Awesome little place to go when you've been on the beach all day. They have prepped sandwiches, sides, freshly baked cookies and lots of other things to bring back (snacks, drinks, etc.) 5$ card minimum so be prepared. A must when you go to WB. I went in with $32 cash, $12 in ones. The cashier, Mrs. T was excited because she was low on ones. So I gave her all 32$ and said take however many ones you need and I'll keep the change. Had a $14.92 total and was handed back a $10 and 2 & $1's. I tried to explain how I watched her put an extra 5 in the register, however after 5 minutes of trying to politely receive my money I was owed I still was not given the money. This is regarding the Roberts Original Pimento Cheese. It could be great, but the addition of the White Pepper actually makes it taste moldy when it isn't. You have to keep telling yourself, it's the white pepper, it's the white pepper, it's really not moldy, it's really not moldy. Hope they change the recipe and take out the white pepper. A little black pepper would be a better choice since it doesn't give off a moldy taste. I put this here because I couldn't find a contact for them or a website anywhere for their products. read more
