The Food: We did the Valentine's set menu, and a fair warning: it creeps up on you! Every course is delicious, but by the time dessert arrived, we were absolutely stuffed. Even if you aren't typically a seafood fan, give it a chance here. The dishes are incredibly approachable, well-balanced, and clearly had a lot of thought put into the flavors. The Vibe & Dress Code: The atmosphere is unmatched, but learn from our mistake! We spent the day exploring Covent Garden and didn't have time to head back and change. You definitely want to dress smart-professional to match the elegance of the restaurant. We felt a little underdressed for the level of experience they provide! Summary: Romantic, delicious, and worth every penny. Just dress up and come hungry!

Given how difficult it was to get a seat, I would have liked to have been seated in the main dining room with the more impressive array of decorations, but my tiny table tucked away in a corner near the entrance wasn't all bad; decorations were still plentiful, and I didn't feel in the way of passing traffic. With the food, you get what you pay for; which may not be as much as you might think given the "poshness" of the place. Without booze, you shouldn't end up paying more than £50pp. The menu has an array of seasonal favorites like Hertfordshire Beef with a red wine jus, roast chicken with leeks and girolle mushrooms, and seasbass with Autumn vegetables. Seasonal desserts are also available and the booze is seemingly never-ending. You can never go wrong with the chicken here, regardless of season, and with a seasoned sommelier always on-hand, rest assured all your wine pairing needs will be met. The beef and venison dishes are also superb, with both light and hearty sides to compliment them perfectly. Dessert can be a hit or miss. I didn't like my first experience here with the Delice, but my second experience was a delicious poached pear with a superb buckwheat ice cream and buckwheat-infused biscuit. I paired mine with the recommended Bordeaux wine to wash down the sweetness, and let me tell you, it was an extra £14 well spent. Overall, this isn't the type of place you visit every week, or even every month, but it's definitely worth planning months in advance to come during the hholiday season. Reservations are a MUST.

Couldn't recommend it more. Chicken Mezze plate was very good, tender and juicy but not under cooked, good variance in type of chicken as well. Falafel could have been the best I have ever had. Can always tell the quality of it by the dryness and chick pea to herb ratio. Fantastic. Garlic potatoes - very good with peppers. Cold Mezze- excellent but would have wanted more tabouleh if possible but you can't have everything. Hummus Babaganoush and Labneh all top draw. With a good glass of red the whole thing came to less than 80 pounds. Unreal. Service was ace not a thing to complain about. What a place. Price 5/5 Service 5/5 (if you are looking for a reservation and online says it's booked, just call and they will sort you out) Food 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Can't miss with this one.

The service was okay except for our server lady, she seemed a bit rude. The other severs were all pretty good. The atmosphere is very very pretty. Especially inside! We sat outside because it was a perfect late September afternoon to enjoy the decent weather. And listen to the side shows going on around the courtyard across the way.

Maybe my friend over-sold it and got my expectations up too high, because I was pretty disappointed in this dinner. We were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We said still and were brought out a £4.50 bottle. I know it's common to charge for water in Europe, so I didn't think much about it until I noticed that everyone else around us had refillable glass bottles -- free tap water that we were never even told was an option. We were seated downstairs at a large communal table. I don't necessarily mind that, but it was so loud that having a conversation was very difficult. My cocktail was delicious, but so tiny. The wine list was decent -- a good mix of options at various price points. As for the food, it was very hit or miss. The mushroom starter and the pork main dish were delicious. Unfortunately, the two most expensive dishes were disappointing. The prawns had great flavor, but a strangely soft, mushy texture. For me, the flavor made the weird texture okay, but my husband couldn't get over the mushiness of the shrimp and hated this dish. The sea bream was very bland and dry -- highly disappointing for the most expensive item on the menu. We ended on a high note with the affogato dessert (Yum!), but for such an expensive meal, there were just a few too many misses for us.

Their breakfasts were atrociously priced at something like £30 a day, so I didn't partake as I honestly can't imagine a breakfast being worth that price tag. But I came down on my last night for a glass of wine and a small bite (sans reservation but was seated right away in their bar). Small bites is the name of the game for suppertime as their menu is designed to share. It's also rather meat-forward, but they do have a vegan menu as well with some specialty items. I had the Margherita pizza which was very small but also the perfect size for me that evening as I wasn't very hungry. The wine list is impressive. Service was fine for my leisurely supper. The bar and restaurant were lively right up until closing. Absolutely fit my needs for the night.
