ZERO STARS. After we waited for an hour and a half, our incompetent waitress in the Type O Negative shirt comes over to tell us that she failed to put our order in. Instead of apologizing and making an effort to make it right, she blamed it on her handheld machine and says "I can't control technology." She couldn't have cared less about us. And, of course, there was no manager available to do anything so this waitress just gets away with sucking at her job. We will not be back to this train wreck of a restaurant, and no one else should go either. read more

The building is charming in a good location with convenient parking. I enjoy the patio as well. The service was fine- I would really have liked to have coffee at the table instead of waiting for refills, but that is my preference. The reason I have given 2 stars is because of the food. For the price you pay- you're service mediocre food. I asked the server if they made the gravy from scratch and she said yes and raved about it. It was not. It's your very bland- run of the mill- gravy mix. Very disappointing as gravy is an easy staple if you're a breakfast place. The other guests I was with agreed since they ordered the chicken friend steak burrito smothered in the same gravy. I probably won't visit this place again. read more

The omelet house definitely had some great omelets and lives up to its name. I had the meat omelet with green chili and it was yummy. My husband had the spicy omelet and said it was one of the most delicious omelets he's ever had. The hospitality is also great. My husband left his ray ban sunglasses there and since we were from out of town they offered to mail them to us and didn't ask for a cent. Our usual go to for breakfast. I ordered pancakes since the last time we were there the table next to us had them and they looked amazing. Ashley, our waitress asked if I wanted 2 or 3. I said two because they looked so large. Well, longest wait and only 3 tables occupied my order finally came. Buzz kill!!! The 2 pancakes were a bit larger than dollar size. Ok, if they are good no problem. Well, when you have to use a knife to cut your pancakes there is a problem. When Ashley finally surfaced I told her the pancakes were disappointing and I had to use a knife for the two bites I had. She offered a 10% discount which came to 47 cents. Always friendly staff, makes eating here a wonderful experience. The chicken fried steak is always the star of the show for me. By far the best in town. Unfortunately many places around town, like the Bunkhouse, cut corners and just serve premade mass produced frozen Sysco CFS. These are made with care and it shows. read more

This was the first time for my husband and me. He ordered an omelet and thought it was good. He had toast, potatoes and coffee. He thought the potatoes were overcooked and hard to chew. I'm not a breakfast food person, so ordered the grilled turkey sandwich. The sandwich was ok, but very greasy. I couldn't really taste the turkey and fillings because of all the oily drippings. The omelette house is located in historic downtown Cheyenne. You walk in and are greeted and seated promptly. The ambiance is awesome, being in an old house that was turned into a restaurant many years ago. The food was hot and fresh. Before I decided to dine at this establishment I saw it was open at 6 am which benefited me on my travels. I read most of the bad reviews posted on Yelp and still decided to give them a chance. Myself and my son arrived Sunday morning around 6:20am and within seconds of entering we were greeted with a warm welcome and good morning. She immediately seated us and asked what she could bring us to drink. There were a few customers already seated and the feeling of the place was open and welcoming, very homey like vide. She took our ordered and within a reasonable amount of time our breakfast arrived hot and looking very tasty. To judge a new place I always order the same entries- two eggs over easy, bacon and hash browns. Everything was cooked perfectly for me. The eggs just right the bacon crispy and the hash brown were good but they could have been a little more crispy. They were crispy but I like them with a little more to them. They offered me a side so I picked the biscuit with gravy. The biscuit was fluffy and perfectly cooked and the gravy was thick and very tasty. She asked what brought us to town and if we were traveling through. We explained our connection to Cheyenne and Wyoming and yes we were traveling through and needed to drive a day to get to our destination. After we paid our very reasonable bill she presented us with freshly cooked glazed cinnamon rolls to our delight. They were delicious!! I can't recommend The Omlette House strong enough! I read all the reviews, but we wanted to try a new breakfast place in town. Very underwhelmed. Breakfast for two, and they forgot the bacon and cinnamon roll. We ended up canceling the cinnamon roll. I ordered a side of breakfast sausage with my biscuits and gravy, I think they forgot them on the grill. They were as thin as the bacon and leathery, had to use the knife and even then hard to cut. They biscuits and gravy were fine, nothing off the charts. Also, it is pricey. For two people with tip it was $46. At 8AM on a Sunday, we were one of three parties. Service was okay, server seemed to not want to be there. It was worth a try, for us, but we won't return. Go elsewhere. read more

Food was very filling. A variety of meals to choose from, they even fix special orders. They allowed my friend to order from children's meal even though we were adults . Service was top notch. There were several guest in the House. We were treated like we were the only guest. Ambiance was very welcoming. The entrance needs work - watch your step. Cost is reasonable for a downtown location. I still like the omelets, green chile and pancakes, but I think they changed the cinnamon roll recipe and it's not an improvement. When I first got a cinnamon roll here my thought was that they'd gotten the old Owl Inn recipe. It was a good size, definitely made from scratch and "homemade" tasting. 2 recent orders were disappointing. The bread looked like a hamburger bun, was puny, and just didn't have that homemade taste. The food was not warm at all when served. I ordered the French toast with compound sweet butter, when it arrived there was no butter on the French toast and they seemed to just have thrown my sausage patties on top of my toast. The person I was with ordered over easy eggs, house potatoes and toast. Her potatoes were not cooked all the way and the eggs were over done. None of the wait staff were wearing masks and seemed annoyed to be helping people out. read more

A chicken fried steak & egg breakfast, the steak was like pulled out from prior days leftovers and tossed back into the fryer for a second round of grease - just horrible. It's always a disappointment to me when I have to forego a sauce or gravy because it contains MSG. It's especially frustrating when the establishment calls their gravy "homemade", but it's made from a mix, because mixes always seem to contain MSG. So do commercial chicken broth (usually an ingredient in green chili), ranch dressing, and many seasonings. I'm really tired of dry burritos because of the ingredients used by restaurants. It's often hard to find something I can eat. Other than this, it's a nice, clean place with good service, friendly people, and a pleasant ambiance. read more
