Stopped by here on a road trip through Wyoming. It was a little later in the morning like 10:00am but i was surprised that they were out of almost every bagel. The staff were apologetic as they thought they had a bagel that I ordered but unfortunately it was sold out. They had a few tables inside so we opted to side and relax while we ate. Super-I mean above and beyond- nice staff. Even if the bagels were awful (they're not) I might go back just for the staff. We had breakfast sandwiches on the green chile bagels. I just had the best bagel in my life at Mort's Bagels, the Saturday special chocolate chips bagel with honey vanilla cream cheese. Great little hole-in-the-wall local bagel shop in the heart of downtown Cheyenne! No frills, nothing fancy, but a terrific staff that delivers service with a smile. And the bagels? FANTASTIC!!! Great assortment with jalapeno, cheese, blueberry, cinnamon raisin, pumpkin, etc. and my two favorites: chocolate chip and salt, both amazingly delicious with a light crust that adds a little snap to every bite! Coffee and breakfast sandwiches are offered, too, but the yummy homemade bagels are what everyone comes to Mort's for! Stopped in for a quick snack, and our expectations were exceeded. Unlike most bagel places, they know how much "light on the cream cheese" is. The bagels came out warm and fresh, and was the best bagel we had in a while. The jalapeño cream cheese was wonderfully spicy, and extra flavorful. The one catch was that they didn't have everything bagels, my go to. We were coming from Minnesota, and found it strange that they didn't have them. (Is that a western thing?) I knew this place had merit, when I walked in to a long line. It was no frills, with a mural and a basket design on the wall. The service was speedy, and staff is nice. I went for a messy, protein filled bagel breakfast Sammy. Post workout was perfect! The special bagel was maple pecan, flavorful! But not overly sweet. Strawberry cream cheese, creamy and fruity. Bacon, egg, sausage, and pepper Jack. All real, not mystery meat. Stop by for a bite, it's worth the wait. read more

Wife and I were looking for a good coffee and quick breakfast as we were heading out of Cheyenne from an overnight stay. We both created our own three item breakfast sandwich and they were excellent to say the least. The smell of fresh bagels was amazing when I first walked it. Staff was friendly and poor Josh behind the counter had to deal with everyone mentioning his birthday since the staff put it on the display board. He was a good sport about it and felt his pain...only draw back is that the coffee was slightly watered down but not a deterrent at all. Would definitely come back to give the coffee another try and for the great food. read more

Such a happy little local joint. Bagels are pretty soft, and delicious. Local art on the walls for sale, the guy I assume is Mort is in some photos on the wall. I always get an everything with cream cheese but they have a variety of sandwiches to choose from as well. It never takes long. Great bagels in Cheyenne, Wyoming? Yep. Staff was friendly and bagels were good. If you like NY bagels these will be a bit chewier and less crispy than you're accustomed to. But hey... they don't have NYC water. Darn good considering this is the only bagel joint in downtown. It would be easy to cut corners. Best of all... they opened at 6:30. I got there at 6:45 and they were locked and loaded. Full complement of the day's selections were available. It drives me crazy when a restaurant opens but doesn't have the full menu available because they're still getting ready for the day. Eat in or takeout. Reasonable prices. Jalapeño and everything bagel are terrific. Definitely a 'do over' next time we're in Cheyenne. read more

I have not eaten at many places in Cheynne, so my palate's knowledge of eateries here is extremely limited. Having disclosed that, this place is delicious in my opinion. I experienced the unexpected joy that is the Wyoming Sunrise bagel (red onion, avocado, cream cheese, tomato, with added bacon). The cost was relatively cheap and their coffee only adds to the experience with different wonderful flavors. From the bagel to the coffee, my day began on a positive note. read more

My husband and kids love bagels and I have been looking for good ones with no luck for two years. I happened to find Mort's when I expanded my google search beyond Colorado because I was desperate enough to drive far to find some. We drove half an hour and arrived and ordered. The selection is great, the quality is great and the staff was unbelievably generous and friendly. No joke- my husband took a bite and cried.
