We had a date card to go to a small town restaurant so we drove out to Gaston and tried our luck at the one Horse tavern and it didn't disappoint! Cute bar with a modern western decor, including hides on the benches. Our server was very attentive and the food came out quickly. The steak bites and tots looks plain but the steak was tender and juicy. The tenders was a huge portion for the large size. Great prices, we'd definitely recommend it.

Fun little place in a small town, wait staff was friendly and the food was good, very nice crunch on the wings.

Stopped by on our way to the beach. Food was super good and it was nice to have an ice cold beer! Service was a little slow but there was only one server working so I get it. Overall I would come back.

I had passed this tav a handful of times in my travels from Woodburn to Forest Grove, Hillsboro and Hagg Lake. The small town watering trough feel with an artificial horse tied to a post out front was 100% my flame and here I was...just a big ole moth flittering around it. We all know how that ends. My wife, who typically is less than impressed with my choice/taste in taverns, bless her soul, was game this go-round. Nine years of cohabitation and exploration it took but I finally knocked one out of the park!! The wait staff (Suzie) were friendly, funny and provided great menu recommendations. The beers on tap were great, we opted to sit outside and it wasn't long before some amazing talent began to set up stage and sing for us. We had the mini corn dogs as an appetizer and they were so on spot. Crunchy exterior, soft interior. Dip in mustard, eat and repeat. I could have blazed through two baskets full by myself. I ordered the Double Bacon blue cheese burger with Buffalo cauliflower bites. The bites weren't my taste but the burger was absolutely delicious! My wife ordered the French dip with Cajun tots. She said it was the best French dip she's ever had. The outside of the bread had a nice grilled crunch to it, the meat was thinly sliced but piled perfectly and the horseradish sauce was fire (which is how we like it). If the horseradish sauce doesn't make you close your eyes, wince, flare your nostrils and breathe through your mouth, we don't want it. . A true diamond in the rough and we look forward to patronizing this tavern many more times in the future!

Just for the jalapeño of it! Yum! Nachos were made with homemade FRESH corn tortilla chips! So corny!! Friendly Funk without the junk!

Margarita. On the sweet side, but pretty good.

I think I'm being generous with four stars. It's getting this high because, honestly, I set my standards a little lower for dive bars. For what it is - a dive bar in the middle of no where - it was okay. My margarita was a bit sweet, but drinkable. My husband asked for a plain & dry bacon cheeseburger. It arrived with lettuce & tomato. I asked for no mayo. My burger arrived with mayo. The only real downside was the place filling with smoke from the kitchen. The frugal side of me enjoyed great happy hour prices.

Went on a Tuesday during a visit to my parents house in the boondock mountains. Wasn't impressed with the bartender (coming from a bartender) because only a 1 ounce shot was poured for a peach cobbler drink (in a pint glass mind you). I work at a fancy hotel and even we pour stronger than that. HOWEVER, I have heard from multiple people that the man working weekends is an amazing bartender so I may be back to give him a try for a decent drink. Had a burger as well. Was decent for 8$ or so. The bun was just a basic white in toasted bun and it didn't come with fries. I suppose weighing it out now... I was rather disappointed from the visit overall. Have visited a second time--on a weekend evening. Wouldn't have a burger again but their sandwiches are very good! Their cordon Bleu and Ruben are tasty as well as their fried mushrooms. The beer is a pretty safe bet since the pours on cocktails are a little skimpy. The workers do a lot on their own though, been there, so always tip well! 15% is just okay btw..

I ordered the day's specialty, Sam's Tacos--three freshly handmade tortillas filled with shrimp, bacon, and steak, served with a delicious spicy peanut sauce. Every bite was savory, flavorful, and completely worth the wait. Since everything is made fresh to order, don't expect your meal to arrive immediately. However, the quality more than makes up for the extra time. You can really taste the freshness and care that goes into each dish. My friend ordered the huevos rancheros and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. The portions are generous, and we both left feeling full and satisfied. Kopitos is tucked away in downtown Newberg, making it a fun little hidden gem. I noticed they advertise live music, so it's probably a great spot to visit in the late afternoon or evening. They also have plenty of outdoor seating, which would be perfect on a warm, sunny day. There is limited parking in front of the restaurant, but street parking is available nearby. I highly recommend Kopitos if you're in or around the Newberg area. Fresh, flavorful food, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere make it well worth a visit!

When we came by, they had live music, and initially had the garage door open (it was closed as the evening got cooler). Prices were high for taqueria -- but this is an upscale alternative, and certainly not expensive relative to the sit-down restaurants nearby. But, don't go thinking it'll be a quick street taco experience -- it's a full restaurant. I had the street tacos. I would have gone 5-star, except I made the mistake of asking for the green salsa, and putting it all over the tacos. They ended up being *so* spicy -- much more than I was expecting, and honestly hard for me to eat. Obviously my fault for not testing the waters carefully -- but it did affect my enjoyment of the evening. Just be forewarned!

Adabada was a step above the carne asada. Now the sides were not good. One single radish for 4 tacos, and my wife got 4 tacos with NO radish, I don't know why. Grilled onions were great and limes were juicy. Now here comes the service. So the service was abismal. I first ordered 5 tacos in line, no one behind me and one person in front of me. I ordered and the lady repeated it back to me and I said correct, so I get to the window and she pulls up saying "you had the ten tacos, correct?" And on the fly I just said yes because I didn't want to be cause a problem or have them throw them away but not happy I had to spend another 15 bucks. Also, I came the day before and tried to get tacos and the lady gave me a chicken quesadilla. So clearly the workers are not organized or care to make sure the customers order is right. So just go with caution that you might not get what you ordered, or just open your order before leaving like you do when you go to most fast food restaurants. I wanted to give this place a better score like a 4

The restaurant has a cozy, homey feel, and the staff took the experience to another level. When we sat down, they asked if we wanted to look at the menu or simply leave it up to the chef and go with the "Francisco Special." Without even glancing at the menu, we decided to trust them... and we were so glad we did. It ended up being one of our favorite dining experiences. Every one of the five courses was spectacular. They also asked about any dietary restrictions before the meal began. We didn't have any, but after chatting with the chef, we learned that he has spent time eating plant-based and experimenting extensively with plant-based alternatives. Based on that conversation, I imagine they would be more than capable of accommodating dietary restrictions. One of my favorite parts of the evening was that each dish came with a brief explanation, either the story behind the dish or details about the ingredients and preparation. It made the meal feel thoughtful, personal, and memorable from start to finish. I wish I got more/better pictures of the food but our phones didn't eat first this time... P.S.
