Another Sisters reastraunt that disappoints. I'm writing this review 5 minutes after leaving. One, taste your food. Two, apple pie Flatbread is novel but not tasty. Three, ensure all $35 hallibut filets are close in size and NOT over cooked. Four, seriously, a basalmic reduction drizzle on the 35 dollar fish filet stacked on dried out potatoes, really? One of the specials was a 15 dollar penne, chicken, creamy spinach and sundried tomato sauce which somehow turned into a bowl of penne with small cubes of chicken, spinach. and a Chipotle flavored seasoning. It was not creamy at all, was spicy and tasted pland.! Who is tasting your food and saying this is acceptable? Please please please stop preying on hungry travelers with mediocre food. The services was great, the wine was good, the cocktail was fine, the art deco atmosphere great, so why not serve good food with a 95 dollar bill. Just wow! read more

Had lunch there today during the crazy busy Sisters Quilt Festival. Had to wait for a table, but could walk around Sisters and come back when it was time. The food was delicious. The staff was wonderful - even the lady who had to manage the waiting list! This restaurant is connected to the art gallery run by the family (and wonderful outdoor artist Dan Rickards). I've eaten here several times. I like the cozy indoor porch setting, as well as the tables spread around the garden area. We'll be back. read more

Quaint and artsy. A perfect Sisters experience. The restaurant has tables in the small gallery and restaurant and on the porch. It's a super cozy space. The Staff is welcoming and friendly right as you walk in the door. The menu is limited but the choices are lovely. Great wine list and beautiful cocktails. I highly recommend it for a date night or small group gathering. read more

I wish they would update their website to say they are closed. We made two trips there but found a note on the door each night stating they weren't open. On the third night, we arrived and looked at four empty tables as we were told they weren't taking walk-ins. Wish they'd mentioned on their website that making a reservation would get you a table. Recently had a private party to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday. We had a wonderful evening. I had approximately 25 guests join us on the outdoor patio. Julia, Emily and the staff made it such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It gave you the feeling of being a guest at someone's home. It was a cooler evening during Sister's Rodeo weekend. They had patio heaters, a couple of open fire pits going and blankets draped over chair backs for our comfort. Those extra touches added to the charm. My guest loved the buffet of delicious favorites from the menu as well as some tasty smoked salmon and chicken smoked on the property. The new addition of the bar in the "Tipsy Trailer" in The Yard was very convenient for the guest to enjoy at their leisure the offerings from the open bar. As for being the host of this celebration, I could not ask for more of a stress-free planning process. I was in excellent care with Emily. She organized and delivered beyond my expectations! We hosted our aftervwedding dinner herevon June 1 and had the best experience possible. The meal satisfied the little kids and the adults. The staff made accommodations for a couple young eaters and treated one hearty eater to a second serving of lasagna! We had booked this event in the winter to be set up in the gallery but the weather was so nice on wedding day that they set us up outside. Room for the kiddos to move around. Staff was super friendly and as it cooled off, they offered big soft blankets to us so we coild extend our evening. It was a great evening and we'll go back often. read more

Sweet and cozy little restaurant. The beet salad is absolutely to die for. Amazing prices. The staff is all very kind. Indoor seating is limited and VERY tight. It may cause you to wait some time to be seated if you wish to eat inside. read more

This place was truly amazing. My gf went here on Friday night after driving from Salem, and wow. We started off w the bread basket (AMAZING), and then I had the Good Earth which was DELICIOUS. The sauce is mind-blowing, and I would highly recommend it. My gf got the daily lasagna special and she definitely considered leaving me for it. Always on the hunt for a new restaurant to try. We have traveled to Sisters many times visiting the area. However, until today, we have not found a 5 star eatery! The Open Door was a very pleasant surprise. Located off the main drag and seemed to have a lot of locals enjoying lunch..always a good sign. Soup of the day was outstanding...a sausage, potato Italian soup and in a light cream broth...perfect for dipping the Bend Oregon bread! We shared a smoked meat and cheese platter also good. Good beer to complement the lunch as well. The servings were generous and the final bill very reasonable compared to big city prices! A return visit soon!! read more

Amazing atmosphere. Amazing food. Extremely friendly service (we've NEVER had a grumpy server here, ever). Gorgeous artwork on every wall. Thoughtfully selected draft beers and wines. Live music, nearly every time we've visited. If a restaurant gets better than this, PLEASE tell me where it is. We've lived in Bend for 5 years and this is hands-down our favorite restaurant. Stopped here on my way home from crater Lake. It was the perfect place to go after a long day of driving. I had a spinach salad with strawberries goat cheese and chicken. They had a very nice selection of wine although I did not have any. If I'm ever in sisters again I will stop there for sure! Also just to let you know they have an art gallery on site read more

Had the panini special with salami, bacon, pesto, etc. Marie had a gluten free Tuscan. Both were excellent. Soup was fantastic. Anyone coming over from the valley should make Open Door their first stop. Staying in Sunriver this week but am tempted to driving back for lunch. Delicious! $10-$13 dollars a plate for lunch. We had the portobello, roasted red pepper and goat cheese panini along with the beet salad. Service was a bit scattered. We ate on their great patio with our baby girl and our dog. The food tasted clean and fresh! read more

I think this restaurant is cute given it's in an art gallery. The selection was good and the service friendly. My only complaint is that they sat my husband and I in a narrow walkway for two, and the table was so tiny and the chairs didn't sit evenly and was uncomfortable. Next time when we return we will request a different table. read more

Wow! I had the Mr. B flatbread and my boyfriend had the smoked Gouda flatbread. Both of us were impressed with the flavor combination. We cleaned our plates. The place is very pretty and we enjoyed eating on the patio. All flatbreads will now have to be compared to these. I don't think I will find better. read more

I'm giving 4 stars for their great outdoor seating and my delicious balsamic chicken flatbread. Everyone there was very nice too, but the service wasn't that great. They brought my husband the wrong food, we had to remind them that I'd ordered a drink although he'd received the beer he ordered at the same time, later we had to remind them again after not getting his 2nd beer, then had to ask for the check too. They weren't very busy either so not sure why. I've heard from a friend this wasn't their typical experience. read more

This is a fabulous place with a very high brow attitude. That being said tongue in cheek, we had a less than a fabulous experience at being seated. We sat patiently while seeing people being seated and served before us. There were two of us, pretty easy, no preference to where we were. A group of six who were quite vocal were seated in a spot we asked about. I complained and the staff said we could wait or move on. This after an hour plus of waiting and being assured it would be soon every 15 minutes. I think the place has a hierarchy. read more

Another two yumms up restaurant! Had the warm beet salad and what a lovely combination for salad. The flat bread bbq chicken was great. We ordered both and shared, it was the perfect lunch. The garden is beautiful and art gallery fun. The staff were warm and inviting. I felt like I was visiting friends. We ate there twice in one week. read more

Good atmosphere, both indoor and outdoor. We enjoyed some local live music sitting by the fire while eating. The staff offered blankets to keep us warm. The staff were friendly and worked with us to find the right food choices, though they were somewhat distracted and it took them awhile to bring the aforementioned blankets.
