28MAR26 for lunch. First, the chips and salsa were very good. Not too hot. Good chips. Cucumber margarita was pretty good, but short of great. Too much salt on the rim with no tahina. Couldn't taste the tequila. Cucumber too mild. Guacamole appetizer used unripe and flavorless avocados and was too salty. Pollo con crema poblano had some very chewy chicken strips, others were perfectly done, but was too salty. Tacos gobernador was too salty. Rice was flavorless and too salty. Refried beans were runny and too salty. Both entrees were just warm, not hot. Someone in the kitchen does not know how to use spices and overcompensated with salt. On everything. Which is a shame bc the spices were there except for the cook who doesn't know what she is doing with salt. Salt is what you use to compensate for your lack of understanding how to use other spices and herbs. Which is a shame bc the recipes already had other spices and herbs, and did not need the overabundance of salt. The waiter didn't give us plates with our appetizer and gave us our check without asking if we wanted desert. We had to ask for water refills. The prices were high enough to expect well prepared food and excellent service. They are close but the Chingona didn't deliver. Which is a shame bc the recipes themselves seemed quite good. I really wanted to like this place. I had heard good things about it and had the chance to try it last week for the first time. The atmosphere is terrific, the service is great, staff is super friendly, and the portions are huge. However... The food is way, way WAY too salty! All of it. We should have sent our food back, but that would have meant sending EVERYTHING back, and who does that? The wet burrito and mole burrito were basically inedible due to the salty carnitas inside. I stopped eating my mole burrito less than halfway through. And my wife and I stopped eating the guacamole after a few bites due to the heavy salt content. Maybe this was an off night or else, this is how the recipes are supposed to be. If so, please rethink the ingredients and LAY OFF THE SALT! To make matters worse, I spent $148 (for food and drinks), which seems incredibly pricey for Mexican food. For these reasons, I'm not sure I'd go back. read more

The service was quick, and although the waitress didn't come back very often, to ask if we needed anything or refill's, we were completely understanding .It's so new that they might be short staffed. Either way, the food was so fantastic, we can't wait to go back! My sister and I and my twins and niece tried this place after visiting the alpacas . Best decision ever. We went at a random time so the resturant was not crowded. They completely set up the table ( chips, water, kids water, silverware etc.) Before seating us. The ambiance in this place is magical. My sister and I kept saying how amazing it would be to have a girls night or margaritas here before an event. They thought of everything when decorating this place! I mean for all those Instagram influences would LOVE the decor. Everywhere you looked there is some photo op. Even the salt and pepper shakers are amazing. I had a passion fruit margarita which was sweet but after 2 I felt it! We ordered food too which came promptly and was delicious. The portion sizes are huge and we took boxes home. Absolutely amazing! The ambiance is perfection, so much attention to detail! We loved the music, the lighting, the custom tables, the plants - it was gorgeous. Only feedback here is to cushion the booths, they were pretty uncomfortable, so we moved to the bar after we ate. The food was divine! I got the special of the evening, which was spicy shrimp tacos with peach salsa. The presentation was stunning, and the flavors were incredible. My husband got the mole burrito and the mole was the best we ever had, and that's saying a lot since my husband is from Tucson. For dessert we had the churros and they were just right. Our server was nice, she was pretty quiet. We enjoyed chatting with the bartender when we moved over to the bar. Overall, it was a perfect date night for our wedding anniversary. This place is beautiful. Atmosphere was 10/10. We waited for an hour because we had a party of 6. That's fine being first weekend and all. We were hungry. We got chips and runny salsa to begin with and those were not impressive. We ordered 3 appetizers. Two of the queso and one of the elote were FANTASTIC. I would definitely go back for drinks and Appetizers. It was a bit annoying to have to wait for more chips when our appetizers said they came with them. Only charged for one extra bowl... but felt like $12 appetizers should include more chips like it says on the menu. If you like fruity and sugary drinks the peach ring hit the spot. Old looking Glasses and tableware were great looking. Everyone liked their drinks. Also the tables with glitter are very cool. Dinner across the board was okay. We tried the carne asada plate which came out lukewarm. We tried the monstros burrito... huge in size but left something to be desired. Inside the burrito black beans were overdone and clumpy and the sauce tasted like tomato soup gone wrong poured over it. The closest thing on the menu to a Mexican pizza was the pineapple and jalepeno concoction... which had fantastic flavor for about 5 bites then it was too much. My casa verde bowl was just dissatisfying. My back beans were a clump as well, there was no corn to speak of (I changed to this after trying the elote) but the shedded chicken was so small and the sauce was absorbed by the rice, I loved the guacamole on top. The only person who liked her meal was the one with the carne asado tacos. The server struggled trying to split up our bill so we all paid what was close to our bills. All in all I would say I might give it one more try? But at first glance it has some improvement needed. I hope the menu gets a few more options.... Because I would struggle to order with the choices we had. read more

This is my sixth attempt at Mexican since moving to the Bend area two months ago. It is hands down the best. We went today (saturday ) at around 2 pm and it was blissfully empty. I had the house enchiladas with ground beef, and initially ordered the Lychee Martini. I did not like it. But, I ordered a regular Lemon Drop Martini, and it was fabulous. Service was fast , unlimited chips, hubby got the skirt steak (burrito) and our guest something else. Everyone liked what they got. The ticket was inline with all other Mexican restaurants. The Mexican rice was just amazing! Anyway, as a Mexican, I'm so happy to find a restaurant I like. There are nice accents like the salt shakers, the pink light, the flowers in the drinks. This place was very busy when we got there! We had to park a ways away. When we made it inside we had to wait a bit before they were able to put our name on the waitlist. It only took about 10-15 minutes for them to seat us. Everyone was friendly and it was fun seeing how they designed the restaurant. Chips and salsa were pretty standard. The ube cocktail was pricey, but delicious! One of the best cocktails I've ever had. It's on the sweet side. We discovered it, and returned 2 more times in less than two weeks. The food is spectacular. I would describe it as a bit fusion Mexican (fusion with what, I can't quite put my finger on it...maybe Italian?), but a close friend from Mexico said the dishes they tasted were truly authentic and best place she had eaten Mexican food. Great place to experience! We sat at the bar and the bartender Liz was excellent. The watermelon margarita was perfect. The balance of tequila was perfect. Liz is a masterful mixologist. We ordered the Monstro Burrito and the Mole burrito. Both were excellent. Both were massive and very flavorful. Erica's mole sauce was smooth and creamy one of the best that we have had! We even ordered the Mole Negro Ossobuco to go. We also had the Hibiscus Tres Leches for dessert and it was decadent and creamy. Staff and service was on point and very attentive! Staff is friendly and great! The seating and lighting are perfect for that relaxing date night and watch the periodic train going by. This place is something to experience and highly recommended! This restaurant in the former Terrebonne Depot has a complete refresh that is fun and unusual in a good way. Interior is dark with lots of twinkling lights and cool sugar skull motifs and Mexican imagery. The service is excellent. Tim, our waiter, was attentive and on point. My wife and I come here often. We know most of the staff by name. There are not many restaurants that maintain such a high level of quality on all levels. The food is amazing and always perfect. They blend flavors like an artist painting a museum quality portrait. The atmosphere is captivating and inviting. But the heart of this place is the outstanding staff and ownership. They are busy but they never miss a beat. Every customer is treated like an invited guest and they are proud hosts. The owners Danielle and Kayla are often present and help make sure everything is not just good but perfect. Erica and Tim serve each customer with a smile and attention. Liz is busy making hand crafted cocktails that are so good you will want to return just for another one. We were really wanting to love this new place that is close to home for us. Our opinions are as follows: far to much emphasis on their "craft" cocktails. Just ok for us, we both had 3 drinks and left feeling like we had nothing to drink alcohol wise, even Grandma who was with us had a margarita and said she felt nothing ( she's 80). There was 5 of us in our group, 2 of our ordered entries were brought out and it took approximately 10 minutes for the rest to come. This makes for an awkward dinner.
