The tasting flight was pretty expensive ($32 for 4 wines) and I don't believe the fee was waived when bottles were bought. The staff were super nice and knowledgeable! They brought us some small plates, including these mini deviled eggs that were delicious! They told us they wanted to start doing fun pairings with different countries and specialized foods based on the country!

Rudest owner on the island…read more If you enjoy being barked at by an agitated dog while the owner mocks your concerns, this is the place for you. We went out of our way to visit this winery, only to be met with total hostility. The owner's refusal to leash his incredibly obnoxious dog is irresponsible, but his attitude toward us was the real dealbreaker. My mother in law has been bit in the past, and was so uncomfortable. Plenty of other spots on Orcas Island actually value their customers, skip this one. The dog chased our car on the way out.

They are all nicely done dry ciders, with just a hint of funk. If we weren't on bikes we definitely would have brought some home! I love that they let you sample them before deciding if you want to buy a glass, sampler, or bottle! We enjoyed a glass basking in the sun by the beaver pond and playing cornhole in the lawn. The space is small and intimate, clearly a beloved local hangout spot, which made it feel cozy and authentic. The wine was delicious and thoughtfully presented with a tasting sheet that gave great info on each pour. But what really made this place shine was the people. The staff were unbelievably kind, welcoming, and fun to chat with, they made us feel right at home and truly taken care of. Honestly, I'd come back just to talk with them and hang out with the locals. It was such a lovely, memorable experience. We didn't need reservations, we were able to get helped and seated right away. The two hosts were helpful and friendly. They don't offer food, so you are able to bring your own. Pets were allowed, they even had a dog bowl available. Seating was all outside, some covered, some not, and heaters were available.

I'm taking this place down a couple stars for a few reasons. 1. They charge $5 for a tasting. Most places in Washington (outside of Woodinville) don't charge you for tasting, and if they do they waive it if you buy a bottle. Not here - you get charged no matter what. 2. They will not go the extra step to make a sale. They assume everything they have is wonderful (it's not) and you should buy it irrelevant to whether you've tried it. We love wine tasting, exploring new wineries and vineyards and most places we go we've found that once you've started a nice conversation with your pourer and they realize you actually want to taste wine and not get drunk, and then buy wine, they'll give you a couple more options if you're interested. Not here - what you see it what you get. 3. It's over-priced. The wines were average for Washington State, but they were charging high-end prices. I don't know of many wineries in Washington that are selling their malbecs for more than $20 a bottle.
