I absolutely recommend hiring a postpartum doula through the Orchid's nest! Sandra and Jessica are amazing, very professional, and great communicators. They always check up on you and are so friendly and compassionate. Sandra has been our doula, and she is simply amazing, so helpful, friendly, and trustworthy. We have had absolutely no hesitation to leave our newborn in her care both overnight and during the day since our baby's birth. We got the Elite package, which comes with 104 hours of in person doulas coming to your home (5+ hours during day or 8+ hours night - whatever you need) and 3 postpartum massages with some beauty items. But they have all kinds of packages to choose from, or you can do an hourly rate as well if you want to try it out. This was a lifesavior with us being first-time parents who were clueless about newborns, and it helped us keep our sanity, especially at night time!! We also got loads of in person practice and advice in our home. If you need support, whether before or after birth, I highly recommend the Orchid's nest! read more

No matter how you do birth.... Don't do it without them! I'm luckily enough to have known about the Orchid Nest before getting pregnant so once I was it was so easy to contact them and scheduling was so easy through Karen! She got me put into the classes my partner and I wished to take as well as got me scheduled for an amazing (and very needed) pre natal massage. Lorie taught our hypnobirthing class and though I knew what I was getting into, she was an incredible informative teacher and so patient with ALL of my husbands questions (and let me tell you... he had a lot). As with all of their classes, you leave with an intentional plan as well as the knowledge of alternatives and ALL options which I found really helpful. I did choose to have a doula present for my birth and to be honest, we don't plan on doing it again without her! The Orchid Nest has been a great place to support my journey into motherhood. We initially used them to hire our doula. Although they have "meet the doula" events, I interviewed a few separately and decided to hire Solange as our doula. While I hoped to have a natural birth and took their hypnobirthing classes, things went sideways (as births can do). Solange was someone who was with us after my emergency C-section and was also someone my husband enjoyed having for support as we became first time parents. Fast forward 5-6 months and Solange also teaches Zumbini classes (Zumba for babies) which I have enjoyed going to. After difficulty during my first labor and delivery, I knew I wanted to do things differently the 2nd time around. My OB recommended the Orchid Nest and I'm so glad she did! I chose to hire Madelyn as my doula and I cannot say enough kind things about her. She was so responsive, calm, experienced, and truly created the best birthing environment for me in the hospital. Best of all she helped me reach my goal of a better postpartum recovery and was amazing during labor and delivery. I was able to birth my baby without an epidural which was also one of my goals. Just like Vanessa already stated and numerous others on Google Maps (be sure to read those tub rental reviews), this business has very questionable practices. Lori preys on expecting mothers. She took our $100 non-refundable deposit for a birthing tub and never delivered. We followed the procedure and the owners response is defensive and blamed us. Seems like a predatory business model. Where does the $100 go? Whats with the contract and need for a deposit? Seems like they collect these deposits, never deliver the product, and then blame you for it. Forget your tub or forget your $100, those are the real terms. Lori, maybe consider changing your predatory practices. Ditch the deposit or maybe actually deliver the tubs. Currently you seem like just a scam. read more

Joanna helped take the pressure off me, as a 1st time dad, not knowing the answers. Joanna was always there for Aleksandra & made our delivery special. The Orchid Nest is the absolute best. We selected Johanna as our doula and took hypnobirthing with Lorie. My birth could have been very scary - my babe was nearly 10 pounds and got stuck in the birth canal - but having Johanna there and being able to use the tools I learned in hypnobirthing made it not so scary. I cannot recommend The Orchid Nest 's childbirth class enough. Julie, a doula and childbirth educator, was unbelievable. We talked through the entire process of childbirth including preparing for labor, labor (tailored towards my choice of getting an epidural) and postpartum. Julie taught me different breathing exercises that help to relieve pain as well as help to breathe the baby out. She went through comfort techniques for labor and how my husband can be the best support in labor (i.e. massages.) Julie also gave us great tips that we would have never thought of to include on our birth plan. I received multiple services through The Orchid Nest during my pregnancy that I would highly recommend. For starters, I attended the Meet the Doula event which was highly informative and organized. This is where my spouse and I decided to work with Solange Dawson. We chose one of the doula packages that included handmade belly butter and labor sprays. The sprays smell delectable, and the belly butter, which also smells amazing, left my skin moisturized from shower to shower, and it prevented me from developing even a single stretch mark. I had such awful back and shoulder pain, and I had a massage with Alexandra. It was my first massage, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I would recommend it. They have a special pillow with an open center so that you can lie on your front while getting massages which you can't find at other spas. For the doula package, we met with Solange, and we were immediately comfortable with her. She is kind and knowledgeable and explained every step of the process for my spouse and me at our first prenatal appointment. She was also the instructor of the 5 week Hypnobirthing course that was included in the doula package. Fortunately, we were able to attend on a Sunday morning virtually, and it made it much more comfortable for my spouse and me being able to attend from home. In addition to the Hypnobirthing course being included in the doula package, we also attended, in-person, the Comfort Measures class led by Naria. The Orchid Nest offers plenty of parking and a private parking lot with easy access into the building. Both courses we attended were fun and informative. I had my second prenatal appointment with Solange when I learned I would most likely need an induction, and Solange eased my fears and calmed my nerves by telling me what to expect. At my birth, Solange was readily available as soon as she received our call, and she set up the labor tub (which was also included in the doula package) in my hospital room which allowed me the comforts of home at the hospital. Solange stayed with me for 24 hours straight until I was moved from delivery to postpartum. She was a calming and informative presence in my birth. She advocated for me and gave me information about the procedures that were happening. She also brought items that I never would've thought to bring to the delivery room: a color-changing galaxy projector, a fan, labor gowns, and an oil diffuser. She also served as my photographer and took hundreds of photos that wouldn't have been taken had she not been there, and for that we are incredibly grateful. My spouse, who needed some convincing to even attend the Meet the Doula event in the beginning, and I are incredibly pleased with and thankful for all of the services that were provided to us by The Orchid Nest. And we plan on utilizing their services again when the time comes for baby number two. Do yourself a favor and check out The Orchid Nest for your prenatal, birthing, and postnatal needs. read more

Would not recommend booking a reservation with The Orchids Nest for a birthing tub. Made a reservation and paid a deposit several weeks in advanced. Being my first birth I confirmed multiple times with their staff the process for setting up the tub at the hospital. Followed all instructions on the rental agreement to recieve tub, and to my disappointment it never came during my labor. Followed up afterwards to see what happend, and they indicated there was new COVID procedures which were never communicated to me as a part of my tub reservation. They indicated this was the hospitals responsiblity and not theirs. I was met with sarcastic tones about my reservation and deposit. Poor customer service from Angela and Lori in letting their customers know there was a change in instruction to the agreement and set up of the tub. Would expect to be kept abrest of any changes to a contract made. Disappointed a tub could not be a part of my birth and the Orchid team did nothing to make it right. Was looking forward to being a part of this community for postpartum support, but not after this experience. read more

The Orchid Nest offers premium classes and services for expecting women in the area. On July 4, 2016 we had our first born. Whitney Brigg's was the most amazing doula we could have hoped for. I was even able to have a natural birth considering my high risk pregnancy. She provided phenomenal support in all aspects of my pregnancy and labor. Overall, my birth experience was very empowering thanks to Whitney's guidance. My husband and I met Whitney at the Comfort Measures for Labor class that she teaches. We knew then she was the doula for us as she exudes all the confidence and knowledge that we were looking for. In addition, she is very sweet and is an absolute pleasure to be around. Whitney was able to guide us through a multitude of decisions as she has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field. This included referring me to a wonderful group of Midwives, Women's Health Partners, which could deliver at Boca Regional. According to my midwife, Elieen Danoff, I am in the top 1% of births she has ever delivered or experienced. This mainly due to the fact that I had a seamless birth experience thanks to Whitney's guidance. The weeks leading up to my son's birth was very stressful. This was due to the fact that the doctors wanted me to be induced early due to my high risk pregnancy. Whitney was able to listen to my anxieties and reassure me that I could still have a natural birth even thought I was going to be induced. I was prepared both mentally and physically for the labor thanks to Whitney. It was most useful that she recommended hypnobirthing practices in order for me to prepare mentally. She also guided me which physical activities were needed in order to have a quick and easy labor. Lastly, she assisted me in composing an easy one page birth plan with symbols that all the nurses and midwives loved. In the end, I had a pleasurable birth experience. My husband even likes to brag to others on how good the labor and birth went. I highly recommend Whitney as your next doula, and will use her services again in the future. read more

Lori is the best thing that happened to us during the birth of both of our daughters. Along with her hypnobirthing course, (that is offered here) she was my doula. She guided us to the point we felt confident. So much so, that we felt secure enough to start laboring at home. An amazing advocate yet calming spirit when we got to the hospital. Our birth experiences were subsequently truly amazing because of her constant support and guidance. If you're pregnant just GO THERE! You'll be in such good hands. They're not there to sell you garbage or fill you with worries. It's just the opposite. Lori and her staff created the most serene and happy space to help you through the stages of your pregnancy. When I became pregnant, I envisioned doing third trimester yoga, working through guided meditations to focus on the perfect birth experience. When my vision of the perfect birth fell apart--required bed rest, early mandatory c-section, hospital drama, Lori was there to help me make sense of it. She was there to walk through my plan, guide my husband through the whirlwind of hospital procedures and make sure that my wishes were respected. She was tirelessly helpful with breastfeeding. She's just so consistently calm, happy and supportive. No one tells you how terrifying it can be when things go wrong, and my family was across the country, but Lori was there, holding my hand, explaining what all of my options were, despite hospital protocols. And yes, she even knows someone to help with placenta encapsulation. I recommend it to prevent ppd. Now I bring my healthy, grinning daughter to music and massage classes at Amazing Births, and every time I walk through the door, I am reminded of just how grateful I am to have found this place. She has assembled an amazing team of lactation consultants, massage teachers, music and yoga instructors and provides classes on everything from diapers to diet. read more

I had my daughter in a tub there in January and it was soooooo much better than going to a hospital (I had my son the year before at Boca East).
