Allison is someone who sincerely cares about what she does, and who cares about you. For the consultation, she thoroughly examined our house and all of the spaces and wrote out an action plan. I had other professional organizers come over for a consultation and it was only five minutes tops, with a pricey consultation fee, and they didn't even have a plan which felt unsettling. But Allison made me feel cared for and showed me she can be trusted! She did way more than I ever expected. She takes all of your junk and donations for you in her pickup truck!!! That was a HUGE plus for me, I did not expect that! That was an enormous amount of relief for me so I my trash wasn't overfilled with all the junk I got rid of! I also mentioned to her that I was putting together my son's loft bed and that I was struggling, so she offered to come over and help me! 2 years later, I found myself texting Allison with the hope of tackling more organizational projects I had put off for too long: the office and the kitchen. It was a tight timeframe, but Allison (who so lovingly remembered me) was able to squeeze me in to tackle the spaces 2 weeks later. After a whole day together of Allison presenting all the items that had been shoved into spaces and forgotten about, tossing things that were unneeded (dingy plastic tupperware and mugs galore), and having the best conversation, we were able to free up space in both areas and leave each area feeling intentional all while I was working from home the majority of the day. Here's a long and long overdue review for Alllison, The Organization Maven. I hired Allison to help me move in May of 2022... it was a big job but together we got it done! I needed to pack to have most of my things moved by professional movers to a new home I wouldn't be moving into for a couple months, with a smaller set of my things packed to use in a temporary living arrangement in the iterim. And then of course the third subset was stuff to liberate! Allison made it all possible. We scheduled several meetings and got tons done each time, even though I really was kind of emotionally reluctant to make decisions about what to do with everything. She gently and relentlessly kept me focused on the task at hand and we plowed through it. Allison helped me set up boxing and labeling strategies and a checklist by room to make sure the various sets of stuff were packed correctly and went to the right places. Knowing Allison would drop things off for recycling also helped when it came to household supplies, and she kept up a brisk line of boxes for me to take to the thrift store, and made sure they were loaded in my truck before she left each day, for me to drop off so I couldn't backtrack and not take them! Allison also did a great job packing my nicer things that would need to be stored for awhile. I'm just now unpacking some of the light fixtures, mirrors, art, etc that she so carefully wrapped, and everything is in perfect condition. With the help of the Organization Maven, I was completely sorted, decided, packed, and ready for the movers when they arrived. In fact they were so happy I was well-organized (thanks Allison!) because it made their job so easy- they did a great job too and were delighted that the job was so simple because everything was ready and packed and clearly marked. If you hate moving and you want someone to take the reins for you to make the whole process a lot simpler, I can 100% recommend Allison. Our minds were put at ease during the consultation. Whatever your worry is, she's probably already thought of it and can tell you how it's going to work out on moving day. In our previous moves, we just threw things in cardboard boxes and tried to deal with it. With Allison, it was great to have a lot more structure and a plan to get through the packing process in a more streamlined manner. She has a great vision for how to use your time most effectively. She helps you decide what would be easier for you to take between your personal vehicle and her truck, versus what you should have the movers take. It makes moving day a lot smoother. Speaking of which, that's really where the value really starts to show. She interacts with the movers and will direct them herself. We were free to work on whatever parts of the move we wanted/needed to and she was there to take care of the rest. Throughout the move, she would encourage us to take a walk and let her take care of things. That was pretty great. About halfway through, she went to pick us up some lunch from Chipotle. We all ate outside on the patio, but if someone got up to help the movers, it was her. It was as stress-free as moving can be. The unpacking and organization processes are wonderful. She has the movers build your bed, washes your linens, and then makes your bed so you can avoid the age-old mistake of sleeping your first night on the mattress on your floor. That's a really nice touch. She's great at organizing. Things in our home have a place to be, and that makes cleaning and tidying a lot simpler and less daunting. She's got a lot of cool organization products. Our streamlined utensil-holder-thing makes phenomenal use of our limited drawer space. Little things like that don't seem like much, but when they're thoughtfully put in every part of your house, the difference is significant. Admittedly, this move was about two and a half weeks ago, but I'm finally getting around to writing this up. But it's the best move we've ever had. It was the quickest and most effective packing. Working with the movers was a breeze because we did very little of it. And unpacking was also super easy because she was the one figuring out how to organize everything. While this service isn't cheap, it's absolutely worth it. If you hate moving, organizing, or tidying, it's doubly worth it. She sets you up for success in your own home and I feel like that's worth a good chunk of change. We were so relieved at the end of the move that we absolutely plan on using her services more. We have furniture coming in 4-7 months (thanks covid, lol), but when it gets here we plan on having Allison come back to make sure the transition is smooth and everything goes back to being as tidy as she left it. I must say, I reached out to several organizers when I felt overwhelmed with having to spring clean. And Spring cleaning actually turned into selling our house. I had an awesome experience with Allison. For a few months my husband was hemming and hawing about cleaning out our 2 car garage. I used her service to clean our garage recently. We had water pipe issues twice in 2015 and had to use our garage as a temporary solution to store items that were in the house including furniture.
