I reached out to Sara 5 years ago when I was overwhelmed and stressed. She came in and taught me her calendaring system and took the time to follow up and make sure I was implementing it. (When you learn her system it's no mystery how she remembers to do that.) She doesn't teach by showing you and walking away. She has you do it on the spot, getting every little to-do out of your head, onto paper, then scheduled on the calendar. The relief you feel when you know that you won't forget something important is unreal. I've tried a million different ways to keep track of things, methods for doing certain things on certain days, etc... none of that works. Life is always in flux and her system lets you embrace that. It also doesn't hurt that Sara is super funny, down to earth, and a living breathing organizing Mary Poppins. We moved into a new house and decided to be organized from the get go. This woman is not only an organizing and decorating savant, she is a joy to work with because she Loves what she does and has a great sense of humor. After moving into my new home, I sat paralyzed, looking at my moving box chaos for almost a month before a friend suggested checking out a pro organizer. The thought hadn't even occurred to me. Where do I start? Sara is literally an angel from above. I can't function in chaos and my closet, kitchen and garage had become just that... CHAOS. TL;DR: Sara is smart, prompt, professional, and efficient. And she's super fun to work with. Book her now! I know, it's hard to put down good money for something you're supposed to be able to do for yourself. Believe me, I come from a Chinese immigrant family and not only are we famously penny-pinching, we're also not big on letting strangers see our messes and touch all our stuff. So, it took me doing lots of research and pitching the hell out of hiring Sara to get my family on board. In the end, everyone was really impressed with what she accomplished in just two sessions. Right now my husband, baby and I are back in the house I grew up in. The three of us are living out of the room I had in high school. Not only that, but there's about 30 years' worth of accumulated junk scattered all throughout the house. Things were outta control. Sara helped us inventory and re-organize our room on her first visit, then the next week she tackled several areas in our garage and decades-old clutter in our hallway and living room. When I spoke with her on the phone, she likened hiring her to hiring a personal trainer, which I felt was a really good analogy. You can't get in shape without doing the work yourself, but a trainer will give you the right principles to work with and motivate you to push beyond what you're normally capable of. That was totally how it worked with Sara. Cleaning out our room and getting things in their right places (or even deciding what systems to set up so there were "right places") would probably have taken hours, days, even weeks of dragging our feet and slogging through it. I was floored that we did it all in one four-hour session with her leading the charge. But also, just to temper unrealistic expectations that might make it unfair for Sara: She's not meant to come in and wave some magic wand. It takes work, and you have to be ready to make changes in how you approach the things in your home. It's like working out. If you're not ready to get sweaty on your own, a personal trainer won't do much for you. As for getting rid of stuff, Sara's great about helping you see clearly what you need to keep, donate or toss. But she's not pushy or judgmental about any of it. In the end, she'll tell you it's completely up to you to figure out what you want to hold on to and how to store it so it's not in the way. I wish wish wish that we had the budget to have her come in and do our whole house, but for now I'm really amped on the great start she gave us. Sara's attitude was incredible! So upbeat and positive, never made me feel insecure or embarrassed about my clutter. She just has this amazing can-do attitude to accomplish and repair any situation. No obstacle is too big. It is hard to admit that there is no organization on the area you work in until you get a professional like Sara to come in and change that for you! I am amazed with what the outcome came to be. This review is long overdue but I just want to share how amazing Sara is and how much she helped our household. My interior designer had recommended Sara late last year after we finished our sunroom/playroom. We're a family of 5 with kids ages 2-9 so our entire house needed help with organization. She started with my master closet and was able to jumpstart the much-needed editing so I can finally see what I actually have! Next she helped with the kids' bedrooms and suggested that the boys switch rooms with my daughter because of the closet situation. That worked out so well, I couldn't believe how different it feels. Then she came over to organize our sunroom/playroom and taught my boys how to put stuff away and group their toys together. Finally, I took her calendar class and now I realize that if I just follow her method, I can accomplish 5x more everyday and not have those little things "clutter" my brain. Sara has a true talent in what she does. She is positive and motivating and just a pleasure to work with. If you are on the fence about hiring an organizer, or feel that "putting stuff away" does not need professional guidance, I can tell you that I feel incredibly lucky to have worked with Sara and I will continue to ask for her help in other areas of the house.
