I reached out to Diane at The Tidy Abode for help with unpacking and organizing all our belongings in a tiny home! It was truly a major downsize from our home of 10 years, to a new space and neighborhood that we intend to make permanent eventually. We brought only what we absolutely needed in to our small space but it was still a challenge and overwhelming to create a new living space that was organized with less cabinets and rooms! When I say challenging I'm talking about tears and feeling like we made a mistake about moving in to a smaller space even though temporary! Diane is just top notch. We had to do a big pantry and garage clean out after combining homes, getting stuck, and just accumulating on top of the mess for over a year. In two big days, she was able to help us sort through the mess, prioritize and get all of our stuff into working/accessible order! If you're unsure, hire her for a small project and you'll see how much she does in the allotted time. I hired her for our laundry room and she finished so quickly that she ended up doing 2 more closets in 1 day!! She made categories based on what I currently had and helped me purge some items based on expiration, or unnecessary duplicates. She took most items with her to donate, which saved me a trip! She also organized items based on accessibility and my family's needs. I highly recommend purchasing product like wire cabinet shelves or tubs prior to her coming (different sizes) so everything gets put away and looks uniform. Even though I bought clear bins, there were some categories that required larger or smaller containers so she made placeholders in the meantime. It's not necessary to purchase new containers, she actually made great use of random boxes I had laying around since we ran out of clear containers, it was just my preference. Diane is fantastic! She was very responsive right from the start of when I put out my Yelp quote request. I had messaged with a few other organizers but Diane seemed to have the best vibe and reasonable pricing. I hired her to help my reorganize my home office and my master bedroom. I'm a working mom and working from home with a toddler home with me 24/7 for the past year has left me with zero time to organize my spaces and it was giving me anxiety that the two spaces I spent most of my time each day were cluttered (to say the least) and chaotic. The spaces desperately needed an overhaul. Enter Diane, she is so patient, doesn't judge, and just gets to work. She was clear on the time expectations as far as if I'm there to direct her, answer questions, things will go faster. Which is true becuase only you know what your stuff is and where you generally want it to go. (I personally don't like when someone comes to clean up my home and then I can't find anything when I need it.) This shouldn't be something where you hire her, leave for the day without giving her any direction, and then expect everything to magically be where you want it to be. (At least one my case). I called Diane to see is she was up for the job, she obliged and offered to come by to provide an assessment on organizing my garage which I was so embarrassed about. I felt overwhelmed by the task before me, which was to sort through 30 years' worth of dusty boxes in storage and whittle them down to the essentials. The storage facility had raised the unit's rate over the years and was billing me the unbelievable amount of $400/month. I needed to keep only those things our family could not bear to part with.
