Being from Chicago, it's hard to find deep dish pizza down here that will make me happy (other than shipping in from Giordano's!),. But The Big Tomato comes very close. The pizzas are slightly thinner than what one would consider deep dish, and the crust is a little softer. But they are incredibly tasty, and do hit the spot. FYI: this is a small place, best visited alone or with a small group. Also, skip the bread bowls! read more

I love the Thai pizza (very spicy hot though). Their pizza has a good and distinct flavor that I enjoy. It is troubling to read the reviews that speak so poorly of the customer service. I love ordering pizza from here, the crust is so crispy and thick and the pizzas are very tasty. I've had pepperoni, regular cheese, four cheese, chicken pesto, tangy Thai, and ive never been disappointed, their salads and soups come in a delicious bread bowl. The paninis are huge and although I haven't personally tried them I've had friends that ordered them while I was there and they loved them. The rollers are also delicious. This place was pretty good. The pizza was thick flavorful and made fresh. Nothing amazing just really good. The service was OK. The lady gave me a little bit of. An attitude when I asked for blue cheese and ranch. I wouldn't of mind paying extra for them, but could do without the attitude. She is the most rudest unprofessional lady I ever came across in a mom and pop place. She has been there for too long and it shows she's misrible. I know she has been there since the old owners. Well this message is for the new lady that owns it. Get rid of her quick. You have lost a lot of customers because of her and if it was not for my loyalty to this place. The pepperoni pizza here is the BEST pepperoni pizza on planet earth! I say this only after having eaten 2 dozen or so pizzas from here over the many years of living in Miami. I've lived in Chicago and NYC, tried pizzas all over Europe, and none have come close to the Original Big Tomato. I rarely review, but i'm doing my part to make sure this small mom and pop stay around forever. The world needs these guys to continue making pepperoni pizzas. Also kudos to them thinking outside the box (literally) when preparing orders to-go. Your pizza comes wrapped like a Christmas gift and when you finish tearing the paper to shreds to get to that fire pizza inside, you'll find it perfectly sandwiched between two paper plates (one upside down acting as a cover). I used to always frequent Big Tomato when they had one on Kendall Dr and 107 ave. It has been 8 years since then, until finally I came to the original Big Tomato. It was just as delicious as I had remembered. The pizza here is a little different but nontheless delicious! The chicken bbq pizza is just a special experience. This place has been here forever, but it is so small I never checked it out until recently. They only have 5 or 6 tables in a small space. But they have a pretty big choice of pizza, salads in bread bowls, paninis and some chicken wings. I ordered the "Traditional" pizza. They come 8" and 10". It was quite tasty. There was a woman working sunday july 5th in the after noon with terrible customer service. After placing my pick up order she just says bye and hangs up. When I get to the restaurant I sit down. The place is empty. She does not look at us or say anything. After 15 mins I say hello. Our order was ready the whole time we were ready.
