I went to the Cape May store on April 21st and purchased almost $70 of taffy for my friends. I bought a box for home too. On 4/25 when I opened the home box and bit into the first piece it was hard as though it was last seasons taffy left over through the winter. After an email to James McHugh at: sales@fudgekitchens.com, the employee in charge of returns I heard nothing. I called the Washington Ave, Cape May store and was assured that the store manager was busy and she would get back to me. On 4/29 I received an email from James saying he would send a box and would either refund my purchase or replace the taffy. 5/10 no box yet, sent an email - crickets. Here we are 5/15 still no box, James no longer responds to email's or PM's. Since James has decided to ignore me I guess I will write a letter to Karen Thompson the recent owner of the company and will start leaving reviews wherever I can. This is not how to treat a 30 year customer of your brand. read more

This Wildwood boardwalk fudge/candy store is open year round. It's pretty quiet on the offseason but the store is still stocked with my favorite items. This is pretty good fudge even if it is expensive, but hey, it's the boardwalk so the expense comes with the territory. They also have other candies and goodies to choose from if you aren't feeling fudge. My only complaint is that they don't label their fudge so you have to either ask about every single one or guess. Been coming to this Fudge Kitchen for at least 15 years for its excellent quality. I bragged about it to my friends visiting here from Maryland and took them for a taste a few weeks ago. Immediately they said "Something's not right." Fudge was hard and gritty! So I just bought more today figuring Now that it's mid season it would be fresh. Wrong! Three pieces were hard and gritty (stale!) and only one piece had the traditional melt in your mouth texture. I called and asked if there was new management and I was told YES! We samples a few other taffy places on the boardwalk during our stay in Wildwood. Fudge Kitchen, in my opinion, had the best. They even labeled the flavors on each individual wrapper, which was useful when it came time to eat them. :) Customer service was hit or miss. Fudge Melted. Purchased fudge at night on the boardwalk. Got back to the car and it was completely melted. It wasn't even daylight it was dark and a bit cooler out!
