What a beautiful place. I didn't expect this because its in a strip mall, noboffe se to strip malls. They really put some thought I to the I door and outdoor space. The server was good, he came by often enough to keep our drinks filled. Our food was amazing! I had the res snapper with garlic mashed potatoes. We went to Paolino's for a wonderful dinner celebrating my birthday. We had been to this restaurant a handful of times and each time it's consistently wonderful from the time we receded till the time we left the establishment we were acknowledged and treated really well. our server was amazing. She explained everything and recommended different dishes. My husband had a white fish and I had pasta with scallops and mussels. They both were delicious. We had lemon cheesecake for dessert that was out of this world. This is a small off the beaten path restaurant easy to get to very clean and decorated very nicely. It was the perfect date night meal. I give zero stars to this overrated strip mall joint. The red head whom I was told is the owner was intimdating and nasty when I asked about my lamb shank- that is apparently sliced like a round steak with grizzle- not a shank/not braised & probably not lamb. Red told me "thats how we do it" when I told her I was expecting a lamb shank- because it's on the menu that way-not gyro slabs-she snapped at me asking if i wanted it to go or just to take it away- I had it taken away- and was then ignored the rest of the meal by staff- no offer to remove it from the check- no offer of even a free dessert. It was pretty obvious that I am not the first to complain about the shank- Terrible experience and will definitely never go back, and will also boycott their other place-the Beach House in Ottawa- even though they have an actual lamb shank on the plate- I will never give my money to this rude owner. We had a nice booth, and settled in to the friendly atmosphere of this cozy restaurant. A small detail made us happy: real napkins, good eating utensils. olive oil at the table. My partner and I ordered the octopus entree, and the special opah..grilled, with polenta. My California chardonnay was perfect. The Opah was, in a word, perfection. Hubby loved his octopus. Our friends were also very happy with their short ribs, which looked delicious. We cannot praise the kitchen enough...they have skill and the ingredients are fresh and perfectly prepared. Place was packed, but we brought friends in from out of town because of the last 6 times my wife and I were there...which was terrific. Last night was a horror story. Half price wine night...and you ran out of glasses? Soup brought to the table at about 7:45...was lukewarm..we asked for warm soup, server took it away, then comes back and says we're out of soup. Our guests meal was average at best, I went for the lamb shank...no lamb shank, just a leg...in pieces. My wife and I would have thought, this is a one off...but we had our friends, first time there...they said they wouldn't come back. I really loved that place, but probably not coming back. One offering. I check the specials earlier that day and they claimed to have other options but arriving at 6pm, not late in the night, they had nothing. Such a disappointment. Celebrating our anniversary, was excited to try the short rib as we had it at our wedding. The meat was dried out, then had a ton of sauce on top. I found a bone in a bite and was able to get it before I swallowed it. Only to have a bone in the next bite which I did swallow. The bone was sharp and got stuck in my throat. Our friends suggested drinking something carbonated. The server brought an inch of soda water in a glass. I did not eat the rest of my meal. We then ordered coffee, thinking the warmth may help. The coffee was room temperature and tasted like mud. Three of us ordered coffee and all sent it back. The server was surprised when we asked her to make a fresh pot. There were no refills on bread, no refills on water and no refills on black coffee. No concern that I left with that sharp bone still stuck in my throat. So sad. read more

Very nice experience! My fiancé asked in our reservation for them to write a little note on our table. They honored his request, which we thought was great. The drinks were very good. My only issue is that my cosmo came with a hair in it. I politely asked the waitress for a new drink and she was not apologetic, which I thought was strange. Highly impressed! We recently visited Pesciolino Osteria and we left extremely satisfied. I think we talked about our experience for the next couple of days! We came on a Tuesday for the oyster special and happy hour. We started with a dozen of the fresh oysters and a half dozen of the baked oysters. It wasn't long before we doubled that order...if you're looking for oysters this is definitely the spot! We also got martinis they were delicious. Do yourself a favor and ask for Tracy! Even after the interesting reply from the owner, my review stands. I love Cesar salads and have never sent back food, but the anchovy fishy taste was awful. The weird political comment was in reference to asking "tell a fun joke" as a special request on the reservation (which we use for all reservations as a fun thing from Illinois to Switzerland, never had that weird of a response, but first time for everything), and the host replied she "didn't know any politically correct jokes". Which we found very strange. And I stand by my, why are you charging to use a credit card in 2024 when the food is already over priced? I also stand by, the food was mid, and if there was more competition for restaurants in Channahon I wonder if this place would make it. What made me especially excited was finding out that Pesciolino Osteria's mozzarella is made in-house and the pasta is handmade. I would definitely be trying both. What I got to taste: Focaccia Bread Hierloom Tomato (w/ mozzarella) Nona's Parmesan Polenta Bucatini Fresca Orecchiette Salsiccia Of the five offerings, the one I liked least was the focaccia. It wasn't worth the calories. I did, however, enjoy my bucatini as well as the mozzarella. I wanted to surprise my brother and his wife for their anniversary. I knew they were going to go to Pesciolino, so I called and spoke with Mora about my idea. She was all in in helping me surprise them. They had no reservation so she would have to go off the slight description I gave her. The fact that she was willing to go the extra mile for a stranger is amazing. I know how busy it is at restaurants and the managers are usually running around with their minds on the running of things. But she was going to look through the dinner rush to find my family and give them the surprise. My heart could not be more grateful. Unfortunately their son got sick and they could not make it for dinner. Mora called me the next day to make sure I knew that they didn't come and that the restaurant still has the gift card for my brother to pick up. Wow! I could tell just from our phone calls that she takes great pride in her restaurant and cares deeply for her customers that come in to have a meal there.
