My wife and I were looking for an Italian restraunt for lunch on the 4th of July in Bloomington Normal. We Found Napolis on yelp and decided to try it. Yay.... They were open!! It was a beautiful space and our waitress greeted us with a big smile. We ordered drinks and started with the calamari. It was very good and came with marinara that was excellent. My wife ordered the meat stromboli and I went with the taste of Italy. She was very impressed with her choice and it came with the same Marinara. My meal was chicken parm, fettuccine and lasagna. Very good choice. The fettuccine might have been the best I ever had and chicken perm was also excellent. The lasagna was good too, but was over shadowed by the other entrees. Large portions also so we each took a box home. The waitress was awesome and delived our food and kept our drinks full. We will definately return if in town again. Thank you Napolis!! read more

Fairly disappointing given the plethora of 5-star reviews for this establishment. I ordered the calzone and it was... passable. It automatically comes with Italian Sausage, ricotta, and mozzarella on the inside. But the fillings just weren't flavorful like, at all. The dough was admittedly pretty good though - had that browned sweetness to it like Papa Johns/Domino's. However, I was told that the calzone automatically came with a side of marinara sauce. It didn't come with said side. One of my family members ordered the Shrimp Napoli, which is specified to have jumbo shrimp. It had only regular-sized shrimp (or at least what I regard as regular-sized). Fried mozzarella sticks were the real standout disappointment. Barely any flavor at all in the breading, the interior cheese solidified like a brick even when warm, and they overall just tasted like they were bought from Dollar Tree or something and thrown in the microwave for 30 seconds. They seemed pretty understaffed? I understand if you don't want to overstaff your business just to have a bunch of your employees waiting around doing nothing, but I just feel like the service wasn't there. read more

Excited to try a new restaurant, & wish them the most success. Upon first glance, the restaurant looks remodeled, but looking further, you can see that the railings are wobbly, a huge injury risk for customers and a liability for lawsuit :( second you can tell that the paint job was not done properly. The walls were not properly spackled or fixed. They just painted new paint over damaged walls, which destroys the ambience. The bathrooms looked dated. Food wise, the food was tasty, especially the bread rolls. I ordered a dish with cheese on it, which could've been cooked a little bit longer, so many restaurants do not crisp up the cheese they just let it melt. Service was OK, but not overly friendly either. If you want soup it's $18! They have only one size, which is expensive and strange , as the majority of restaurants offer two sizes. Do not recommend. Tonight was the second time (2 nights in a row) I ordered from Napoli's restaurant and both times they messed up my order. I understand a one-time error because you're new and you are getting into the swing of things. Twice in a row back to back 24 hours apart is unacceptable. When I called last night to ask about my missing item their response was "Maybe the delivery driver ate it. But we put it in the bag." Tonight I can't even get through on the phone. It says the number is unavailable. While the food might be okay, the service is lacking severely. I will not order from them again or give them my business. I do not recommend. In fact, I would highly discourage you giving them your patronage. The amount of money you spend for food nowadays is higher than ever before and if you get subpar service, it is not worth it. Last night I ordered Fettuccine Alle Vongole With White Sauce and dessert of Sicily cannoli. They completely left out the dessert. Tonight I ordered the cannoli that I never received last night and the chocolate cheesecake. The menu says there's fresh fruit and chocolate sauce on the cannoli. Mine did not have fresh fruit or chocolate sauce. Tonight they completely forgot the cheesecake. I'm extremely disappointed. read more

I visited Napoli's this evening while it having been open for 2 weeks. I must say, I had an outstanding experience. The veal parmesan was delicious, which is what I ordered. The veal was nicely fried and seasoned well, and the accompanying spaghetti pasta had a very nice red sauce, similar to marinara. My friend ordered the shrimp ravioli, and it was outstanding. I had no idea what that would be like, otherwise I would have ordered it myself. It was basically a cheese filled (maybe ricotta?) ravioli with shrimp on the side in a sauce that is similar to vodka sauce with a little more spunk. It was like a tomato cream sauce, otherwise known as "pink sauce" where I currently live. Although my dish was amazing, I would definitely get her dish next time OR simply the cheese ravioli. Perfecto! Since they are new and don't have a liquor license yet, you are allowed to BYOB (or bring your own wine, in my case), which was definitely a money saver. But I imagine once they get their liquor license, which they have applied for, that will probably end. All of the employees seemed to be related to one another and directly from Italy. The chef even came out and personally introduced himself to every single table. Nice touch! Service was outstanding. Everyone approached us with a smile. They gave us complimentary freshly baked bread knots, which were amazing, along with a delicious olive oil based dipping sauce, which nicely contained garlic, cheese, pickled veggies, among other things. I wish I had taken a picture of the actual dine-in menu rather than the carryout menu, but I was too enthralled with my food to remember. I will definitely be back! read more

The food was delicious; I really enjoyed the Tour of Italy. The waitress was not very friendly and screwed up our bill. There were 3 couples and I don't know if they checked their bill or not, But I was charged for a salad I didn't order and didn't get for $5.95. When I told the cashier she couldn't figure out how to fix it and called the waitress over. She said just take $7 off the bill and that was fine, but she also made a comment that someone at our table must have gotten a free salad. Not my problem if can't do your job correctly. On the way home I was telling my wife about the charges. We were also charged for two drinks at $2.95 each and my wife told me she was drinking water. So even with the $7 credit, I was still overcharged. Conclusion: food was good, but double check you bill. read more

My selection Mostacioli with red sauce and mots cheese was good. Very mild, not as flavorful as I expected. Plenty of cheese over the top of the entrée. It was hot when served. My friends lasagna though browned on the edges was cold in the middle. The salad dressing was sweet Italian . It was a small but fresh salad We enjoyed the bread . The only drawback was the demeanor of our waiter. He seemed hurried and distracted. He didnt check back on our table or even introduce the menu, ask if first visit all those welcoming things I expected. It was lunch with 3 or 4 tables seated and varied in their courses. He appeared to be training a bus boy. The clatter of the plates placed on the service carts was unfortunately loud since it was right behind us. This place may deserve another visit in a few months. There were just two of us for dinner on a very busy night with a symphony chamber concert in town. We were ahead of the crowd, so had no wait for seating, and food came quickly. The rolls (best part of the dinner) were delicious--browned perfectly with flake salt on top--yum. The salad was completely bland iceberg, one tomato slice, one cucumber slice, and mozzarella. The house Chianti dressing was tomato-based and ketchup-like. We ordered baked manicotti which was very cheesy but rather bland. The homemade pasta in the Shrimp Alvino was very good, and the shrimp were tender. The sauce, though, was so watery that the dish was very difficult to eat. Our waiter did not check on us at all for refills or so that I might request another desperately needed napkin. The atmosphere is rather tired. read more

This restaurant has amazing food! This is a new restaurant where Michael's used to be. The rolls at the table are made there and they are so very good! We have had a number of dishes in our two visits and the sauces are so elevated! Their spaghetti with meatballs are even amazing- the homemade spaghetti noodles have a great texture, the red sauce is so incredibly tasty and flavorful and the meatballs are light and so moist! We havent ordered any pasta that hasnt been marvelous. The service is fast and the guys are genuinely interested in making sure you like what you've eaten. read more

My sisters and I celebrated a belated birthday by dining at Napoli's on 06-20-26. The atmosphere was pleasant and while busy, the space did not feel crowded. Staff were very nice and engaged with the customers. Our food did not fare as positively. The order of manicotti was more enjoyable than the other two entrees and the salads we ordered. The $12.95 Caesar salads were the size of generous side salads. The lettuce had seen better days. There was abundant dressing that had a primary base of what tasted like Dijon mustard rather than traditional Caesar dressing. The chicken piccata was bland in appearance - strips of chicken breast that appeared to have been prepared earlier as a universal base for multiple dishes. No sear or crispy browning of the protein. The sauce had few capers and a mild lemon taste, but was overwhelmed by another herb that may have been fennel or oregano or tarragon... something that steered the dish from a traditional refreshing piccata. The spaghetti carbonara was the most disappointing of all. Advertised as having the traditional carbonara sauce with a touch of marinara (presumably a dollop on top for color/flavor?) and also containing ham and mushrooms, the dish failed on multiple levels. The presented plate looked like it was left over from another diner. No eggy/cheesy white sauce could be seen or tasted - only what seemed to be a thickened chunky marinara with an undertone of cinnamon. The ham? Definitely not a traditional pancetta or even chopped breakfast ham. The thin pieces of protein looked like a slice of packaged luncheon meat that had been torn into 1" pieces. It was difficult to tell if it was pancetta in another life. The mushrooms made an appearance but didn't save the dish. The plate came with a larger tablespoon stuck under the pasta. The servers do not offer fresh cheese or pepper and I cannot remember if there were containers of such on the table (there were plenty of butter packets for the cold rolls on the table and that was helpful). When the server asked how we enjoyed our dishes, I shared (I swear, very nicely and no demands for a comp) the disappointment with the carbonara, he was very polite and professional. We were later presented by, I believe, supervisory staff a slice of limoncello cake to split among the 3 of us at the table. Again, this was presented very kindly and we appreciated it. At that time our drinks were refilled (2 waters and a soft drink) by the supervisory staff - we did not request the refills but again, were grateful. When the check was paid, the bill was $120, including a 20% tip. Again, no comp or cost reduction was requested even though the carbonara was a true disappointment, not the dish advertised - and none was offered or given by Napoli's. The final *zing* of the evening was looking at the check and seeing that we were charged for the soft drink refill - the refill that appeared to be generously provided by management and presumed provided gratis. I went in today with my beautiful gorgeous baby girl . And we had an amazing 10/10 experience. I had the "Lucky Guess" and it was one of the best pastas I ever had. And my baby girl had the "Shrimp Picante" which was also so delicious. We also ordered the supreme pizza. Ordered the Chicken Piccata. The cook must have been having a bad day, because I was served a giant pile of noodles swimming in oil and water. Chicken was rubbery, no flavor, already sliced up and the chicken and capers were mixed up in the noodles. A wedge of half cooked lime was on the side? There was no lemon flavor or any flavor to this dish and definitely not like any Chicken piccata I have ever had. Server didn't seem to care when he noticed that I had not eaten much and asked me if I liked my lunch and I said no. It is overpriced for what it is. Ambiance and decor could use some work. Napolis has a very warm and friendly atmosphere. It is run by 5 Italian brothers. The food is fresh, homemade, and delicious! The salad was simple, the lettuce was crisp and the shredded mozzarella cheese on top was perfect. As others have said, the rolls are divine! Warm, soft, melt in your mouth yeast rolls! I had the Shrimp Alfredo which was excellent. The sauce was rich with a lot of flavor and noodles cooked Al dente. My daughter had the ravioli with red cream sauce.
