I've been to a lot of BBQ joints over the years, and I consider myself a bit of a BBQ fanatic. So when this new location opens in Arlington, I'm always excited to see what they bring to the table. Unfortunately, this new location left me feeling pretty underwhelmed overall. First, the space itself is massive and there's no shortage of seating. They also have two drink stations/dessert bars--one immediately after checkout and another toward the back of the restaurant. Pro tip: don't get caught up in the crowd right after checkout waiting for a drink or dessert. Grab your food, find a seat, and head to the back. It's considerably less hectic back there. The BBQ Brisket & Burnt Ends: The brisket was good, and the burnt ends were good as well. My biggest complaint with the brisket was the bark. Personally, I would have liked to see considerably more pepper and seasoning on it. That said, the brisket was still enjoyable and certainly not a bad showing. Texas Twinkie: I almost never order Texas Twinkies at BBQ restaurants because, in my experience, they tend to be overpriced for what you get. I decided to give this one a shot, and I'm glad I did. The outside had a really tasty BBQ glaze that added a nice sweet and smoky element. The chopped brisket inside, however, was noticeably dry. It seemed like they may be using brisket that didn't sell as well for these, which would explain the dryness. I ended up needing some BBQ sauce to get through it. Still, the glaze made this one worthwhile. Jalapeño Sausage: This was easily the biggest disappointment of the meal. I love jalapeño sausage, so I really wanted this one to be good. Unfortunately, it missed the mark. There was virtually no snap when biting into the casing, and the inside had a very mushy texture. I found myself reaching for BBQ sauce just to make it more enjoyable. For me, this was a hard pass. The Sides The sides were actually one of the highlights. There are a ton of options, and everything we tried was very good. The variety alone makes it easy for a group to find something they'll enjoy. One note: they call one of the sides "elote," but what you're actually getting is much closer to a Hatch chile creamed corn. It's still tasty, but I wouldn't describe it as traditional elote. Final Thoughts The biggest issue for me is that the experience didn't quite live up to what I expected from a new, massive BBQ destination in Arlington. There were definitely some good things--the brisket, burnt ends, Texas Twinkie glaze, and especially the sides--but the sausage was a major miss, and the brisket could use more seasoning and a stronger bark. Maybe I caught them on an off day, and I'm certainly willing to give a BBQ joint another shot. Overall: decent BBQ, great sides, but not quite the standout I was hoping for.

Lean brisket, pork ribs, elote corn and Cole slaw.

First time at this establishment. Not the same as Hutchins BBQ in McKinney though very similar. Brisket and ribs had wonderful smoke and wouldn't normally need sauce. However, and this was on me, I asked for less fatty and instead of getting a mid level received mostly very lean. Unfortunately it made it a bit too dry and sauce helped with the moisture content. Still, though, the smoke was great and flavor came through. I'll know better next time to order more "fatty". A bit pricey but plentiful for the price. Sides are the same price for whatever you can get into the serving container. Pretty good elote corn and the Cole slaw was excellent. Bonus of free dessert for dine-in but you get what you pay for here. Nothing to write honestly about. Banana pudding was indistinguishable as banana pudding it fad so much crumbled vanilla wafers in it. Peach cobbler was dry even adding the soft serve on top. Ice cream alone was good though. Very friendly and helpful staff. Quick to clean off tables that were community seating with some scattered exceptions. A mix of workers on lunch break, tourists and Rangers fans heading to an afternoon game. Crowded but not cramped in anyway. Better deal and more variety than eating at the ballpark. Definitely the way to go in my estimation.

    Great stuff. Championship caliber meats.

We're here for the World Cup & needed some Texas BBQ. Roy Hutchins was recommended & turned out to be fantastic. My son & I had a 1.5lb beef rib, 1/4 lb sweet pork burnt ends, 1/2 half lb brisket. The meats were perfect: moist, right doneness, perfect bark, definitely cooked with craft in mind. I do a lot of BBQ & can't do any better. We had potato salad, cole slaw, mac n cheese, & pickles as sides. These were good, but could be better. The mac should be crispier & burnt. The potato salad was somewhat plain. The slaw too. Mind you, it all comes together nicely with the meats. We definitely will be back. We met a married couple from Croatia & shared food. Their 1st American meal. They loved it. She was from my village! A chance meeting at The Original Roy Hutchins Barbecue.

I've been to the Hutchins in Frisco and they're one of my faves. I didn't know this location was closer to me. We didn't sit down to try the other things on the menu, since we were just curious about the Texas Twinkies. And well, these were massive. I mean, for $7 each, I guess they should be. It was very filling to eat one, so it's probably best to not order too much food if you choose to try this or at least split it with others. Other than that, it was pretty good, flavorful, and not too spicy since the generous amount of cream cheese helps to neutralize it. Definitely need to come back to try the other proteins on the menu and the their bottomless desserts.

Barbecue can be different from state to state and even from city to city. Went here because of the recommendation of a few locals. Walking up to the restaurant, the pleasant aroma of smoked barbecue permeated the parking lot. The huge smokers lined up their staging area on the side of the restaurant was intriguing to see. While inside of the restaurant I was a bit confused on how to order and where to go. Dining in, you'd order your meats then would go to the cafeteria style for sides, then sit at picnic style tables. Lots of room for large parties to sit together. Since I'm not a fan of buffets or self-serve restaurants, I asked one of the employees to pull my sides for me from the employees side as those serving spoons where not being used (less likely to be germ filled). The employee helped but was murmuring under his breath the whole time to where I asked him what he was saying. He then got louder and said that I should be getting my own sides. I explained why I'd like him to help me. He scooped up the Mac & cheese and overflowed the brown paper bowl. Then the baked beans were slopped onto another paper boat-bowl. The beans was our least favorite item; dry looking pinto beens with b When you continue down the line there are free fixings like lettuce, onions, dressing, and more. At the checkout register, I ordered a free toasted bun but unfortunately the bun never came even after being there for 45 minutes. There are free desserts in the dining area, self serve ice cream, peach cobbler, and banana pudding. The cobbler and banana pudding were ok. Overall the meats were really good! We had turkey and brisket. The side we liked were the loaded mash potatoes, Mac & Cheese, and the deserts. In the future I'd rather order to go than sit in the dining area to eat.

Typical Hutchins experience - delicious! I tried their burnt ends for the first time and it will be my go to from now on. The creamed corn and after meal desserts are a must. I also had no idea you could add different sides on the same little boat. I always took one for each side which is such a waste because I never fill it up with one side. I will say the staff here are much friendlier than the McKinney location. Very casual, clean, and spacious - great for groups.

Rib, jalapeño brisket and a sausage link!

Delicious best beef rib I've ever had!!! The rib was very expensive at $56.00 but I would spend the money again!

Came here for a Texas BBQ experience , and I think we got one! Upon entry you see all the smokers and one of the workers was kind enough to open them up to show us how they cook the chicken, beef, ribs etc. mucho gracias to him! We got the beef ribs, prime brisket, coleslaw, fries, fried okra, Mac and cheese. We were unable to try the elote and mash potatoes because it contains pork. The staff was helpful and got us Mac and cheese without pork in it. We appreciated that. The meat...... the BEEF RIB was HUGE! 2.5 lbs came to 100 but it was really excellent. The brisket was fatty, but eat it while it's hot to take advantage of the juices. Sides were all great and complimentary peach cobbler, banana pudding, and ice cream cones were a nice finishing touch. Big tables which you might share with someone. Over all glad we came and would suggest for others. It's a bit expensive but I think it's one of the better options in the area. Our order came to around 170$ for 2 people and a lot of food. Thankful for the cleaning staff and excellent AC indoors!

Alright, I still think very highly of RHB. Unfortunately, my review isn't as festive as the first. The customer service was still on par w/ my first review and the ease of ordering to-go was, effortless. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. Wet Brisket Sandwich: Once again, the brisket was delicious and seasoned very well. Even with it being very good, I will not get the sandwich again. The top bun, I felt, was nothing but bread, a lot of bread. I removed the top bun and enjoyed it more, that way. I was a bit perplexed and I assume if I wanted the toppings (pickles, onions, etc), I needed to ask for it. I was given just the brisket, bread, and sauce. Yeah, no! Potato Salad: Eh, this was way too salty and I had to add mayonnaise to help settle the issue with the sodium. I think this is the perfect example of different days and different chef's, and why some experiences are better than others. Will I get this again, yes, it was really good. Will I sample it before leaving the restaurant, you're dang right I will. Mac n' Cheese: I did something different with this one. I added my brisket to the mac n' cheese and it was, amazing. If I get brisket in the future, I will get 1/4 pound with the sides. Pork Burnt Ends: Do I need to say it, I don't think so. These are my favorite!

We tried the newest location for The Original Roy Hutchins BBQ that opened on Copeland Road, near the stadiums in Arlington The food was amazing, but let's talk about FREE dessert!! For dine-in customers, free peach cobbler, ice cream, and banana pudding! YUM! We enjoyed burnt ends, the daily special which includes one meat sandwich with two sides, potatoe salad, loaded mashed potatoes, and green beans. They offer pork belly burnt ends and brisket burnt ends. The pork belly burnt ends are sweeter, if you are craving a little sweetness with your BBQ We were in a food coma! They do not serve beer or alcoholic beverages, but are BYOB for those that enjoy a with their Texas BBQ. Arlington is lucky to have so many great choices for BBQ! Delicious!

Texas brisket makes Tennessee brisket taste like trash!!!! Came here based off a recommendation from an influencer I follow on Tik Tok. I just say she did NOT lead me astray. Upon entry everyone was so welcoming and willing to help. It was a bit overwhelming due this being my first time here. Immediately the wonderful meat cutter (I hate I forgot his name) had to know if we were locals and if not where were we from. Of course, we said Tennessee. You can only imagine the conversation that was had from there about the bbq in Tennessee. Lol On the menu thy have multiple options to choose from according to how hungry you are. I suggest sharing the bigger plates due to the amount of food they give. I ordered the platter with 2 meats due to them being out of the beef ribs and I wasn't in the mood for pulled pork. You have to get a Texas Twinkie. It's a jalapeño pepper stuffed with cream cheese and brisket wrapped in bacon with a sweet bbq glaze brushed across. So good!! The brisket was juicy and thick very little fat and smoked to utter perfect. I have NEVER had brisket taste that good! The smoked sausage was just ok to me. They do slice it real cute to where it's not a million little chunks all over your plate. (This was a whole conversation about how Tennessee people don't slice their sausage this way lol). The next station is where you get your sides. You fill up small paper boats with whatever sides you want. Each side is $4.50. It's not measured by weight but by each boat you get. So if putting 2 sides in 1 boat is your thing, then do it! So many sides to choose from. Try as many as you're willing to pay for. I believe after tip/food/and drinks for 2 it came to be about $95. Money well spent in my opinion. There is plenty of seating throughout the establishment in multiple rooms. Find a seat and sit there. A plus side to this place is that dessert is complimentary. They have banana pudding, ice cream and peach cobbler to choose from. After, eating majority of your food I'm not sure you'll have room for dessert. Try to save a little room, so that you can at least taste the options. Overall experience here was 10/10. I'll definitely be back!!!

Good beef brisket and pork ribs. Self serve. Good atmosphere. Typical BBQ prices. Good place to go

If you're looking for a solid Texas BBQ spot, Hutchins BBQ absolutely delivers. From the moment you walk in, the service is excellent--friendly, fast, and welcoming. The atmosphere has a relaxed, backyard feel, like you're at a casual family cookout rather than a restaurant. The highlight for me was the burnt pork ends--they were packed with flavor, perfectly tender, and easily my favorite meat on the menu. The red meats overall were very moist and well-smoked, showing real consistency and quality. The only downside was the chicken, which came out a bit dry compared to everything else. Where Hutchins really shines beyond the meats is the sides--they're all delicious and complement the BBQ perfectly. And to top it all off, the free desserts are a huge bonus. The peach cobbler, ice cream, and banana pudding are all included, and they're the perfect sweet finish to a hearty meal. Overall, great food, great service, and a laid-back vibe. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

I would say they need to be on tables to wipe them down before the next people sit down, maybe figure some fly control & clean up/ touch up paint the walls in that front room. Will not keep me away... but would def improve the experience. This is my favorite BBQ... not just in Arlington, but anywhere. The Texas Twinkie is a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and brisket and wrapped in bacon. It was my favorite item as the cream cheese and bacon balanced out the spiciness of the jalapeño. The mac n cheese was also delicious with the perfect amount of spice. The service was great too as they made a mistake on my order and quickly corrected it. I like that this place is open daily and for dinner too. Overall, I would recommend this place if you're in the area and looking for some BBQ, but if you're a huge fan of BBQ then I recommend going to the other top BBQ places.

Go. Show up early. Wait. Order lots of food. Don't forget dessert. It's all worth it…read more... Hands down, the best barbecue experience I've ever had. I was born and raised in Texas, so I've had my fair share of barbecue, but Goldee's takes it to another level. I recently moved away from Texas, and for my last weekend in town, all I wanted was one more great Texas barbecue experience. A few friends and I decided on Goldie's on a Saturday, and knowing it can get busy, we committed to the full experience. We showed up around 8:30 a.m. with lawn chairs, a cooler of drinks, and some games, and turned the wait into a tailgate. Right before they opened, a staff member came outside and walked everyone through the menu and ordering process. She explained the regular menu items and the specials they were featuring that day, which was helpful when it came time to decide what to order. And as a group of six, we ordered a lot. Honestly, that's the way to do barbecue: get a little bit of everything or, in our case, a lot of everything. The sliced brisket was fantastic, the pork spare ribs were excellent, and the pork belly was incredible. The pork belly was probably the biggest surprise for me because I've never considered myself a huge pork belly fan, but Goldee's may have completely changed my mind. The jalapeño sausage was also delicious. They were featuring Brahman that day, which was similar to brisket, and that was another standout. We also got a beef rib, which was, of course, fantastic. For sides, we had the mac and cheese and pork hash, and both were excellent. And then there's the banana pudding. I love banana pudding, and I genuinely don't think you can leave Goldee's without ordering it. Even a couple of the guys with us who aren't big dessert or sweets people were raving about it. From the food to the staff to the entire experience of hanging out with friends and tailgating before opening, Goldee's was everything I wanted for my last Texas barbecue stop. If you're serious about barbecue, Goldee's needs to be on your list.

Nice small food park in Dalworthington Gardens/Central Arlington…read more I just happened by on a Monday but the trucks were in hibernation mode. I came back on early Saturday evening after a nice cooling rain. It was pleasantly not crowded. I got a couple of empanadas from one truck and a couple of smash burgers from another. Both items were delicious. When I go back, I want to try something from the hibachi grill. I got an Oakcliff smashburger and my son enjoyed a Dallas. We loved our burgers. You could tell they were made fresh with chunks of avocado and bacon for me! The empanadas were good if a bit small. The dough pocket could have been premade, so I'll have to try something else from that food truck. That's the beauty and draw of a food truck park as pi your able to try have what you want and still eat together! I hope people come out and give this place a try. Come check it out, they got something for nearly everybody!

Their arepas are absolutely unreal: crispy on the outside, perfectly soft inside, and packed with incredible flavor. The food park has a great vibe, tons of variety, and the location in Arlington is super central and easy to get to. I've been here with family, with friends, on my own -- always a great experience. If you're looking for Venezuelan food in Arlington or the best arepas in the DFW area, you HAVE to find Autana at Ghost Food Park. Don't miss it!

OMG, their food is so good!! Let me back up…read more Wanted some bbq and was on my way home from work. I had not been by here in a few years and wanted to try it again. I have wanted really good bbq for months and so many places in the metroplex just do not have good bbq anymore and are way over-priced for mediocrity. Rudy's has renewed my faith in a good bbq restaurant!!! The employees were all so nice and knowledgeable about everything on the menu, which is rare with that age group (20-30). I also love it when a bbq restaurant smells wonderful and is clean-no sauces on the table, no pickle or onion juice anywhere, no random meat or bread pieces laying on tables, etc So good! So good!!! (Bringing it back-again!!!!) I ordered two jumbo 2-meat potatoes with brisket and turkey, as well as, two chopped brisket sandwiches. Didn't know what my family wanted so I got what I knew that they'd eat. For sides, I purchased to potato salads and a pint of Rudy's Beans. On the way out, I also grabbed some pickles and sweet peppers. I'm fat full and have coined them as my favorite bbq place now!!! Will definitely be back!

The seasonings were good though. The prime rib had a lot of char to it where it was hard and overcooked. The staff was friendly...and that was nice. The only bad part is that they forgot my bread...so off to HEB to get some bread. Talk about an inconvenience. I don't think I can recommend this location.
