I was so happy I got to try this place when I was in Dallas. I had it bookmarked and my hubby's cousin suggested we come here for dinner. This location in Arlington is one of their originals. We got the garlic bread $8.95, roasted oysters $19.95, fruits de mer $33.95, blackened catfish $23.95 and sweet potato pecan pie $14.95. Everything that I tried was delicious. The garlic bread was well seasoned and crispy. They oysters were sweet and fresh. I loved my plate of fruits de mer. It contained boiled shrimp, oysters on the half shell and crab fingers. Their sweet potato pecan pie is the best. It's sweet pecan pie topping layered over sweet potato custard. It was served with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and berries. It was to die for. The service was good. Our waitress was sweet. She had dropped one of my roasted oysters and threw it out. It took 10 extra minutes, but she brought out three more. The food did take a while to arrive, but we weren't in a rush. The restaurant decor is nice, but the inside is very dim. read more

I have nearly 60,000,000 views on my Google reviews. I've been to 47 states and 39 countries. We've been Papas customers in over two dozen locations for over 15 years, and we have numerous Papas gift cards. We will never return and neither will family and friends. I just got kicked out of this Papa's after standing around for over an hour asking a couple of times what the holdup was. We checked in at 3pm and were told the wait would be 40-45 minutes. At 3:55 and shortly after 4 I started asking for updates and getting extreme attitude. I asked what's the hold up as there were numerous tables open, 3-4 employees just standing by the host station, and numerous employees on break in the back. We had friends and grandchildren with us and we were all just standing by the bar for a lengthy time, with no updates and no offers for drinks or anything. I eventually told the hostess Jackie, a time limit it else we would go elsewhere and I'd be contacting customer service. In front of the manager Arman, she said, "I don't care." I asked, "Wait. What did you just say?" And she said again in front of the manager Arman, "I don't care." At this point I took a photo for documentation and said I'd be contacting corporate. Arman started giving excuses so I took a photo with him as well and he kicked me out. I asked if he was trespassing me from the location and he said just for the day. As if we're ever coming back. This attitude is clearly a corporate culture issue. The manager Arman also gave me a bad number for corporate - 877-277-2747 - which puts one in a perpetual loop of offers for people over 50! The food was delicious as always, and the ambiance was great. The visit wasn't enjoyable though, the male server we had was snobbish and chaotic, which really took away from the experience. The only time he attempted to be nice was right as we were leaving, clearly angling for a tip despite doing nothing exceptional the entire time. Had dinner here on the 4th and got seated right await. Our waiter Demetrius came right over and was very courteous and took our drink and meal orders in good time. For appetizer I had a cup of sausage & seafood gumbo and it was very good a little heavy on the but still very good. For an entrée I had the Redfish Pontchartrain and all three meats were amazing, nice seasoning and great flavors. My wife had the Salmon and really loved it. I'm a west coast girly so sadly I don't get to Pappadeauxs too often, but this trip made me wanna get back to the south sooner than later. The crab spinach dip was delicious, especially with the garlic crostini. My shrimp brochette was phenomenal, and even thought the food was great, the service was even better! Our waitress, Precious, was excellent. She was super friendly, personable, and professional. She noticed my meal was missing a sauce and made sure to grab me some from the kitchen. Let's just say this was one of the best experiences I have had at Pappadeaux's! Chelsea was a phenomenal waitress, and everything was 10 out of 10! She greeted us, was pleasant, and was very knowledgeable about all menu options. You can really tell this young lady enjoys her job and does an excellent job at providing great customer service! Although my phone was dying, I was able to capture our food for the night! I had the shrimp and crawfish fondue, one sister had the crab/spinach dip, and the other had the oysters! This was my first time ever trying oysters, and the flavor was actually good! I may have to try them again the next time I stop in for a meal! Well, let's start with the positive...we came to take our kids to watch Texas Tech for their Christmas present, and we wrecked BYU!!! ... Now to our restaurant of choice ... for fried food, they can handle it- just as well as any local establishment, BUT when it comes to delicately preparing fish for those of us on restrictive diets.... Not good. Plus, when you pay over $37 for maybe an 8oz filet (pan seared in butter- when you asked for grilled and NO BUTTER/Sauces at all) and a side salad for an extra $5, you leave extremely disappointed in your investment. In the picture you'll see that the "naked" red fish, that was supposed to be grilled and void of any butters or sauces, actually came pan-seared and pretty much blackened in its preparation method with a ton of butter. On top of that, while trying to find meat that would not upset my digestive system, I ended up finding a bone in my fillet. Our bread was never refilled, nor offered to be, and we had one water refill. Decided to stop here for lunch with my mom and we arrived at a good time as they weren't too busy. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, and offered amazing service. I started off with a swamp thing and cup of seafood gumbo. The gumbo was delicious and a good start to the meal. I ordered the fried catfish (from the lunch menu) and subbed a house salad instead of the rice/beans. The fish was cooked just how I like it (fried hard) and the salad was a good balance! We usually eat Pappadraux when we are in the airport so it was nice to try a physical location. When we arrived, we were a good bit taken back as the host told us it would be a 45-75 min wait for a party of 2, yet the restaurant was 80% empty. Sure enough our wait was 50 min. The restaurant was very dim and was quiet. I am temporarily disabled (in soft locking leg braces on both legs and on crutches) and the host sat us at a table right on a busy corner so I kept getting bumped, knocked, and my crutches knocked on the floor which did take away from our experience. Our server was young but very attentive. To drink, we had the blood orange mule and the ruby slipper. The blood orange mule was delicious. It was well balanced and refreshing. The ruby slipper had way too much elderflower and was bitter. For our appetizer, they brought out a giant loaf of warm bread with butter and we ordered the crab cake. The bread was delicious! It was warm, light and flaky yet crispy on the edges. The crab cake was huge with very little filling. The seasoning was on point. This could be a meal in itself. For our main my husband had the Atlantic Salmon Alexander. This was extremely flavorful with loads of seafood that complemented one another. I had the Louisiana Andouille Sausage & Seafood Gumbo and the Red Beans and Rice. Both were good but were so overly spicy that they were had to eat. My husband is from the deep south and we love these foods and spicy is my husband's middle name but both dishes were too spicy for even him. I enjoyed seeing the difference between their airport, locations and brick and mortar. The difference in menus was nice but there are a few things that this location could work on. read more

Yeah this seems accurate. I've been to the other Pappas restaurants before, but never to the Seafood one. Kind of disappointing. Place is big, loud and busy. The grounds are cute. Bamboo. Little stream. Despite being next to the highway. Had reservations. Still had to wait a bit. Liked our waiter, Raphael. But overall service was slow. "Eagles concert, we're swamped". Really? Not too many waiting for tables. And a big place like this? They should be used to a "crowded" night. Their special old fashioned is good. My wofe ordered a paloma (not on the menu) and was handed their watermelon drink. Hm. We'll, at least we liked it. She got the salmon. Really liked it! Huge portion! I had the rib eye. Overcooked! Like shoe leather! Their pureed potatoes - yep - very pureed! Almost water. But did taste good. Sure hope my senior center makes potatoes like this when I lose my teeth. Creamed spinach is NOT creamed. It's lightly cooked spinach, surprisingly onion forward. Good, kinda? Took awhile for that second drink I ordered. Certainly no dress code. We dressed up. We waited well over an hour with two small children. When one of our party went to inquire why we were waiting so long, there were plenty of empty seats. We then told that we not welcome there. No raised voices, no disruptions, just a simple question. We told them that we would be contacting corporate, the manager said he didn't care. He said he would happily give us a card with the number. The card the manager gave us, had the wrong number. We had to find the number online ourselves. The way the economy is right now, I can find better places to spend my hard earned money. Anyone can fry fish, hushpuppies, and french fries. I would like to thank that manager for showing me how this business values customers, and the corporate culture of this establishment. Home to one of my all time favorite dishes, Crawfish Etoufee! Nobody makes this dish better than Pappadeaux! There were no less than 50 pieces of crawfish in my serving which made every bite amazing. Extremely well balances dish with just the right level of bold spice and creaminess. The white rice it is normally served with doesn't do it justice though so you need to substitute dirty rice. My only complaint would be that they don't serve enough rice with the dish. You definitely run out of rice before you're done with the generous serving of crawfish. Back about 10 years ago, this restaurant was overall 5 stars and always had a wonderful "buzz" atmosphere. Now it's kind of quiet and the service isn't as cheerful or attentive. It's kind of becoming Red Lobster in that regard. Luckily the food quality hasn't suffered. Probably time for a reboot to bring back the wonderful atmosphere they used to have. So any time I touch down in Texas, Pappadeaux is a MUST! Pappadeaux has a New Orleans - Creole inspired menu that is definitely vibrant in alot of flavors. When I arrived to this location, the outside was lit up so bright and definitely gave me such an inviting vibe. I sat at the bar as it was an hour or so before closing time. The bartender was nice and very quick with taking my order. I ordered the Garden of Eden for my cocktail as it's vodka based drink infused with cucumber and lime. The rim of the drink is covered with that salty but citrusy tajin. The cocktail was very light and pretty well balanced. I definitely would have ordered more if I wasn't starving. For my entree, I ordered the rainbow trout with shrimp. However, I was not aware that the portion size was going to be HUGE. I was starving as this was my first meal straight out of DFW - but whew. The rainbow trout was pan seated. with this light and rich lemon butter. The fish was so buttery soft that it melted in my mouth with each bite. The shrimp was huge and so fresh. Everything was perfectly seasoned. The truffle potatoes that came on the dish as the side was very good and cut up in small squares. The truffle oil was very prominent and I was surprised as most places have a light hand on using truffle. I love their Cobb Salad w/ crab and shrimp, it is the only salad I'd be willing to pay thirty dollars for. Every single ingredient is fresh, plentiful, and the dressing is the final touch of perfection. It is a very healthy portion. I eat it for lunch, dinner, and I will have enough left for the next day. The waiter, you could tell he wasn't fully focused on work; I assume he had a busy night, the night before. The restaurant is always well put together and clean, the establishment is always clean, and I have never had issues with the cleanliness. The fried catfish was absolutely amazing along with the loaded baked potato minus the sour cream I couldn't be more excited for perfect. The catfish came out three fillets steaming and piping perfectly across to a tea making each bite worth absolutely the weight. Got to love their loaded, baked potato, I asked for the sour cream to be on the side Only because I just don't typically prefer sour cream however, I will tell you the bacon and the chives, the butter and everything included in this big massive baked potato with everything I could've asked for and more. Some of the food was not as seasoned, but that's OK as I know they try to accommodate everyone, so I'm sure to ask for your salt, pepper and hot sauce up at front so that when your food arrives, you have all the seasoning you need at the table. And never can go wrong with their table bread it comes out fresh long and it comes wrapped in a tablecloth and then most creamiest butter to go along with each and every bite of the bread. Everything here is fresh. It is a little pricey, but I will tell you we have the best server there was roughly 16 of us in our group and wow, she was able to meet all of our needs in a timely fashion with a great personality. The parking situation you can either park in the front or in the back but because it's so big you just make yourself available to walk all around to the front and so that way you can be seated by the host. The ambience is very dark dim and decor is fantastic for the setting. You can come with big groups. Solo are by yourself either way it's gonna be a great time. read more

Day 1, I ordered crawfish etouffee plate with blackened catfish - the stew was perfect and the catfish was meltingly soft. Day 2, I ordered the Pappadeaux version of jambalaya pasta called "Mardi Gras pasta" and it was another memorable, great-tasting dish. Yes it's pricy at $34 but so worth it. Heard good things about this place from coworkers, so I was excited to try it while visiting Arlington. When you pull up, it had a nice exterior. I wouldn't say it's somewhere you'd get dressed up to go to because a lot of people had casual clothes on. We went on a Monday evening and tried to make reservations online, but the form wasn't working which was a bummer because there was a wait once we got there. This location has a lot of outdoor seating available, as well as, a mini park in the back so we explored while we waited. Once it was time for us to go in, we were seated quickly and told our server would be with us shortly with the menus. I'm not sure why the hostess couldn't give us the menus, because it took a while for our server to come with the menus. I ordered a sweet tea for my drink and it was not sweet. For my entree I ordered the Texas Redfish Pontchartrain (which I believe is one of their specials) and while it looked good I was disappointed. The fish was barely seasoned. It comes with a brown butter wine sauce but that didn't have much flavor either it just tasted like melted unsalted butter. The shrimp on top of the fish had some flavor. One of my friends ordered the Crispy Salmon and Jumbo Crab and another ordered the rainbow trout and crab which came with butternut squash. They both said their food was seasoned well, so idk what happened with my food. I told one of my friends who recommended it about my food and she said she recently went and her food was unseasoned as well. So I'm thinking maybe the kitchen staff needs to have a meeting so the seasoning on food can be consistent with all meals. I'm from Louisiana so I guess I can be a tougher critic when it comes to sweet tea and seafood. I may give it another try if I visit the area again. read more

We make it a point to go to Pappadeaux whenever we are in a city that has one. We ordered the Crispy Salmon w/ noodles, shrimp, jumbo crab & Thai peanut sauce. It was amazing, and it had a little spice to it!!! Tip: If you don't like your salmon cooked medium, let them know. I wish I had known this; however, we ate most of it and took the rest to go. My wife and I decided to stop Pappaduex in Arlington for a quick bite on Monday night and on arrival we were told they had a 20 minute wait. The wait was actually much less and we were seated in about 10 minutes. We were seated at table 63 and Daniel was our server. I am not sure what was going on but I ordered salad and gumbo, my wife had gumbo and a shrimp po boy and a side of garlic toast. After very long wait of 30 minutes my items came out my wife's gumbo came out later we were told the po boy was not prepared to her request minus the red sauce so another 15 minutes later the sandwich came out our gumbo was not the quality we are accustomed to: it was very light on the rice and all ingredient still tasty. There was not much input from the server but I guess that's ok? All and all had had we ordered steaks or something I guess we would been ok spending and hour and a half in the restaurant but we spent lots of time just sitting with no food no explanation, just sitting for basically watered down soup, salad and a sandwich? read more
