Some will balk at a tiki bar/hut off a lake, and to that I say "YEEHAW TO THE HATERS" because you can only have so many family restaurants and dive bars before you start wanting to get away from all that nonsense. Enter... HONI HONI!!! On the weekends there is always live music or some event planned, and the space is lively and the decor is spot on. It has the feel of somewhere Jimmy Buffet might have hung out in his earlier days, and the people are more than happy to let themselves be swallowed by the atmosphere. We were lucky enough to be there during the patio season where we sat just inside the open window doors to the music. I will caution the one downside to Honi is they do not serve food. You have to order from UNO (the pizza chain) across the patio and go pick it up. No harm, no foul, we knew that before we arrived. If that is gonna ruin your trip or time at Honi - probably best to stay home. However, if you can get over that one little wrinkle it is a MUST during your visit.

You'll see plenty of pick-up trucks, four-wheelers and side-by-sides. What you get: is an absolutely quintessential dark, country, dive bar. Beloved by locals, they have pool tables, a small live music and dance area inside and a really nice outside area in the back. You'll meet some of the nicest people. Just remember-it is a local country bar and when in Rome... Here's the big draw-oh my goodness, the food! People come from miles away to get take-out. The wings are perfectly seasoned no matter the sauce/rub, juicy but crisp. The Hillbilly Deluxe burger puts a Big Mac to shame. The smoked meats are done on site by people who really know what they're doing. If you're looking for a Saturday or Sunday road trip on a pretty day and some terrific food, find Hillbilly Haven. My partner was in the restroom so went after us to get his drink, he ordered, she asked for his id, just like everyone else. He then gave it to her and she took it then proceeded to take it into the back, COMPLETELY bent it in half and CREASE it. He didn't say anything he doesn't care to argue about it. But I do:)) So I went and asked if she bent it she lied and told me no, to which I corrected her and told her we know she did (his id is brand new and it says it on there). Her reason is "PA IDs don't bend" I said i understand but this isn't a Pa id and informed her of the 3 main ways to know it is real also told her to make a google search. She refused to check it again and said she didn't need to serve him. (Which I know is true) At the end of the day you do not do this to someone's GOVERNMENT documents‍ mind u the owner was right there the whole time and both of them tried to tell me no one bent it and grab it out of my hands I was showing them. After 3 visits, this is my favorite restaurant/bar in the Berkeley Springs area. The food is well prepared and reasonably priced. Don't go looking for the fancy stuff here. The menu is simple, and that's how I like it. No drafts, all bottles, no problem if you like regular beers. The pool tables seem to get a lot of use. They have slot machines in a cordoned off room if that's your thing. I look forward to my next visit. The $19.99 steaks on Fridays are AWESOME!

I stopped in & sampled the hoppier of the 2 IPA's they had on tap & enjoyed it. Friendly bartender. View of lake through back windows. TVs & couches. Not a big place & no food, but decent beer selection on tap & I think seltzers in cooler. They had 4 picnic tables out front. It's located on a plaza along road so kinda busy area, and parking can get crowded with other shops & restaurants. If you like brew pubs, I'd definitely stop. Dog friendly on patio, no dogs allowed inside per county rules.
