Leave it to COVID to wind us up to Duckies finally. The only time I ever tried a wing from Duckies was at the wing off. That wing was a Sweet Tea wing. That was a pretty good wing. I was hungry and wanted to eat just about everything on the menu, and they had a lot even though its a small bar...the menu is 2 sided and they have like 20 wing flavors. But, typical me - I didn't order wings at a famously known wing spot. I ordered the WV Licker Pizza. (Man, that was very hard for me to order by I am an MD girl through and through.) But, it was the most unique thing on the menu that didn't have anything too oddly foreign on it so I wanted to try something unique to the restaurant I usually try to do. This pizza was a small.......holy cow. good crust, white cheese, licker sauce? Onions, chicken and my recent fave jalapeños. So, ill be honest. I could do without the sauce - just a bit too much as far as taste..may just a drizzle next time but overall good and I took the rest home. If I was permitted fountain soda during these times I think I could have done one more piece but they were pretty hot Jalaps. Note to self: this pizza is pretty good served cold the next day from fridge. Ladies were nice, place was definelty following the rules for being open during these times and the crab fries were good. Parking was odd...the lighting was not bright at all - either that or I am getting old. (prob both) I was just salivating for a place to be open and they were, thank you. read more

Stopped here on a Saturday night in the attempts of going out to eat during the reopening stage of the new normal life. There were precautions put in place: we had to disinfect upon entering, we had to buss our own table, plastic cups, every other booth was empty, etc. This place boasts the best wings in the tri-state, winning several awards for them, and never having them before - I had to get some. We shared the crab fries to start - Boardwalk style fries covered in crab dip with cheese and old bay. Would have liked to have the crab dip more liquified so it could cover the fries but the taste was good and the fries were fresh. As for my entree I decided to order 24 medium wings - don't ask bc I don't really have an answer. $24.99 for 24 seems a little steep - but how good they were would be the determination on the cost efficiency. It seemed like things took awhile to come out with only 5 tables total in the whole place but I think it was a combo of several delivery and takeout orders, and that things are made to order fresh. The medium sauce was like nothing I had ever had- very thick and somewhat tangy than your traditional orange greasy sauce. Was the consistency of a barbecue sauce and truly was incredibly good. Definitely medium in spice level. I would have liked to have more flats than sticks - with the ratio 16:8 in favor of drumsticks but the wins were massive. I don't like paying $1 a wing but if the chickens were working out this hard before they were turned to wings I get it. Bleu cheese was also thick and a nice touch - came with celery and carrots. Would highly recommend this spot - a total dive bar but the wait staff was friendly and helpful. read more

I'll be honest, I would not have gone in had I not been with a local. From the exterior this looks like it could be a video poker place or a biker bar. Once inside, it has a pub atmosphere, somewhat dim lighting but clean, fresh (not stale) air, nice booths with live edge wood tables, and a good vibe. The menu has typical pub-type fare, fried appetizers, burgers, salads, sandwiches, etc. I had a buffalo chicken stromboli which was HUGE, definitely could have fed 2 or 3 people. My friend had a burger and fresh cut fries that all looked delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. Duckies is a great asset to Piedmont, a very interesting and historic town that needs a little love. Definitely worth a visit! read more

Would leave zero stars but... Service was absolutely terrible! We called twice with no answer and then called again and we were put on hold for 40 minutes and then just hung up without checking the phone. By the time we arrived to the store the owner and customers sitting at the bar were giving excuses of why we were on hold, saying they had too many tickets, helping other customers in the bar, or they forgot. But the entire time we on hold they were having a conversation with the same two people! Next time please be courteous to ALL OF YOUR CUSTOMERS, not just the two at the bar! Duckies is our go-to every week! Our favorites are the burger with free duck fries night and discount pizza night! They have the best pizza in the area HANDS DOWN! Brooke is always awesome and takes great care of us! The atmosphere is awesome and we go there sometimes to watch whatever game is on that day. Highly recommend! read more

I got some carry out- wife really liked the nice big portion of buffalo chicken sandwich and french fries. The chicken salad I had was decent with a homemade blue cheese. It was adequate portion, but nothing spectacular or something that makes me crave what I can't make. They make pretty good wings and I suspect that is what to get there. Prices are right, bar is clean as is the restaurant. It's a bit dark in there, but that can easily be remedied if desired. If you like good n greasy diner type grub, then this is you. I look forward to returning to try the burger. The people are uber friendly and polite. read more

Was in the area for work and heard about this place having great wings. I got the sweet buffalo chili wings and they were really good sweet and spicy and a decent size. I did not however like the fries they were a little over cooked and idk missing flavor only reason I'm not giving this place 5 stars read more

My wife and I were out this way camping and decided to stop in for lunch. What a wonderful surprise! The food was all made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Onion rings were great, not greasy.I had the WV Licker burger, excellent! We also tried the batter fired fries these also were made in house not dumped from a bag! Beer selection was surprising good! Thanks for a great lunch and job well done! Almost forgot, one waitress in the place but she was really working hard so everyone was well taken care of! I think it's safe to say that Duckies' serves some of the best food in the Westernport, Luke, and Piedmont, WV, area. Certainly it is the best I've had. The hamburgers are legendary. The women who tended the bar and waited on the tables were skillful, personable, and attentive. This is one of the last of the genuine local hometown grills. So if you're going up to fish the Savage River or the North Branch of the Potomac, do yourself a favor and stop in. read more
