Honi Honi is an amazing spot @ Deep Creek Lake. The bar is lively and drinks fun and affordable compared to some other places and definitively more affordable than Boston. Some will balk at a tiki bar/hut off a lake, and to that I say "YEEHAW TO THE HATERS" because you can only have so many family restaurants and dive bars before you start wanting to get away from all that nonsense. Enter... HONI HONI!!! On the weekends there is always live music or some event planned, and the space is lively and the decor is spot on. It has the feel of somewhere Jimmy Buffet might have hung out in his earlier days, and the people are more than happy to let themselves be swallowed by the atmosphere. We were lucky enough to be there during the patio season where we sat just inside the open window doors to the music. I will caution the one downside to Honi is they do not serve food. You have to order from UNO (the pizza chain) across the patio and go pick it up. No harm, no foul, we knew that before we arrived. If that is gonna ruin your trip or time at Honi - probably best to stay home. However, if you can get over that one little wrinkle it is a MUST during your visit. read more

It was better than average bar food. They have a great setup where boats can come in and dock. Nice little green space alongside the lake. The service was good. Very laid-back atmosphere. The inside bar was very dark and stinky. Maybe a little dirty. It looked like servers had to drag out the garbage as well as take care of customers. Seemed odd. It was worth the visit. read more

They are connected to the UNO's restaurant. Limited parking in their small lot, parking across the street but you have to cross a busy highway; it's not recommended to park over there if you have babies or small children. Feel free to pull your boat in the boat parking area. You just have to walk across the wobbly dock so don't get too tipsy or you might end up in the lake. We got liquor and beers there. The liquor drinks were not great. The IPA beers were great though. The deep dish pizzas were amazing. It does take a while to come out but it was worth the wait. I split a large deep dish pizza with my SIL and bonus brother. Kiddos got tenders and fries, and Mac and cheese which were good according to kids under 12, take it for what it's worth. lol. My older daughter got crab dip and I tried some and it was so yummy. Large chunks of crab in it which is awesome for this MD girl. Service was amazing. Our waitress was amazing!! She was prompt with drinks and food. The ambience was great too. Local bands playing, bar area, play area, tiki bar kinda feel. Fun littler bar with amazing musical talent. The staff is really friendly and they give you a great swift service. Drinks are priced fine and they are delicious. There is a small Jello Shot mini fridge over the counter as well. Water is free and ask them 5 times they will not hesitate at all. Musical acts at this place are local and plain amazing. The Honi Honi is a local treasure and a must-visit when in Deep Creek. This fun tiki-themed bar is a fun addition to the area. We visited on December 30th, so I can't speak to the outdoor area or ambiance from sitting on the deck, but I imagine it would be a fun place to hangout. Honi honi offers a full bar service and was packed when we visited. A 90's band was playing favorite hits that had the crowd going. Food service was available from the adjacent Uno pizzeria, but I didn't see anyone with food inside the packed bar. I would recommend this place for adults to hangout while in Deep Creek. read more

The Honi Honi is a must visit when in Deep Creek. We were visiting with a group for the weekend and we were able to pull the boat right up and park. We had 5 toddlers with us who loved the pirate ship playground. We sat at the tiki tables outside and listened to a live band while the kids played at the playground. A fun spot in Deep Creek. Definitely feels a little touristy trappy but I think the vibe here is pretty cool so who cares. Parking lot is a little dicey, they do have dock space as well. They have a great selection of drinks, especially frozen drinks. I had the bushwhacker which was very good. Drinks are a little pricy. Staff friendly. Before going to Deep Creek, I heard that Honi Honi is definitely the place to go out. When we arrived at the bar, I was surprised by how much older the crowd was in comparison to other bars I've been to. There was a live band playing on the Saturday night that my friends and I went there. The band was pretty good, they had a lot of energy and great voices. I would have liked they played more popular songs for our generation, but I understand they were performing for the majority of the crowd (which was in their 40-50s). At one point they called up the bride-to-be in our group to play the tambourine. She had a blast being in the spotlight and having her own solo. The bar is very small, there wasn't a lot of room to dance or a place to stand as a large group. We eventually found a spot to stand around the bar. The bartender Josh was excellent. He was quick to get us our drinks, made our mixed drinks well, and very friendly to our group. Our group struck up many conversations with him about our bachelorette party, college football, and our jobs. His friendly personality made us not feel so out of place in the older bar crowd. I was surprised that the bar closed at 11pm, but it had cleared out by then so it makes sense. I would like to see how the crowd is in the summer and if the atmosphere is different. There's a great fire pit outside that I imagine is fun to be around when it is warmer outside. read more

Feels like an island vacation bar!! This place transports you to another place. It really felt like we were in Ocean City, MD or Florida it was so much fun. We had a lot of fun here! Arrived by boat. Easy to find a spot at the dock. Plenty of available ables on a Sunday around 1pm. The bar is cute and had great beer and frozen cocktails. The unique playground was a nice diversion for our relative's small kids. Highly recommend! read more

I was there over Memorial Day weekend. The bar didn't open until 12, but we arrived at 11:45 and there was not a seat to be found. There were tons of people just standing around as well. When the bar opened things were pretty packed. They did have a fun live band and plenty of space in the yard and a cute little playground for kids. Drinks were fine. In general, I had an ok time. I wish they served food, that would make it better. I'd go again, but hopefully on a less crowded day. read more

The drink menu is super, with lots of interesting choices, and a shooter menu - try the eponymous Honi-Honi cocktail, then keep going down the menu. Great environment to hang out with friends! The bartenders are really good and staff members are really friendly! I had a pina colada which was really good! They have live music and I loved how the musicians interact with their public! They have a big chair and elephant that are great challenges to get pictures on them! The only reason why I give them 4 stars is because the bathrooms were not very clean and most of them didn't have toilet paper. Also, it was raining a little and the umbrellas outside don't cover the tables well enough to avoid getting wet. In overall I had a great time there and I strongly recommend it to hang out there with friends while enjoying the outdoors! Great place for 21 and over! The two stars go to the ducks who were more hospitable than any employees working here. The side entrance, stepping over broken down cardboard boxes was awkward. We had the server replace it. Our drinks were good. The nachos needed improvement as the chips were stale and presentation was sloppy. The server was going to bring out 2 ice cream sundaes with our nacho order and there was at least a 15 min delay until we got the sundaes. They have a ton of beers and liquors to choose from as well as a nice food menu here. Pretty much the only bar in deep creek aside from black bear, but I don't think the honi-honi is anything to rave about. Everything in the deep creek area is pretty inexpensive aside from drinks at the honi-honi. Be prepared to break out your wallet. The bathrooms could also use some attention on busy nights. On a good note,, The staff seems really friendly & the service is relatively quick. They also have some decent band who play live music. Parking does not appear to be an issue, but I would never be driving & parking here anyway being that I'd probably only go to the bar to get drinks. We found a local shuttle service. Outside, the honi-honi has a good bit of seating/tables, which is always nice. For some reason though, the bar area by the stage often smells of a mix of popcorn/feet. Both times I was there I had to step outside. Perhaps too many sweaty bodies on the dance floor? I've never eaten here, but I'd be willing to give it a shot. Like I said, it's nothing to rave about but one of the only bars in deep creek, so I will like be back. read more

I love The Honi so much. I live in San Diego but my family has had a place at Deep Creek forever, and this is a must-go when you're there. Great live music and drinks. TVs for sports, and best of all, a huge lake-front lawn. Perfect for families or anyone looking to have a drink in a fun environment. Wow, this place is awful. Went for late lunch today on a recommendation and the food was terrible. So terrible, we paid for it, left and went to McDonalds. The nachos my wife ordered were topped with shredded cheese and microwaved. Would have been better to use a jar of Tostito's cheese and nachos which we had at the AirBNB. My Cobb salad looked nothing like the picture and nothing tasted fresh. Our daughter ordered the Honey Crisp Chicken Salad which had spaghetti in it! Spaghetti??? Almost forgot. I ordered the broccoli cheese soup which was thick and lumpy. It screamed heart attack in a bowl. Obviously, we won't be going back and I'd recommend you avoid as well. read more

Fun place! I don't know the area at all, so I don't know how many bars are around. This place was packed on Labor Day weekend, though. All different types od people--old, young, singles, couples, bachelorettes, etc. The drinks were strong, but not overly so. It's not crazy expensive, but not all the bartenders are very good. I ended up buying two t-shirts while here, haha, one that says "I make pour decisions," and one that says "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take," lol. Had the weather been really nice, I can't imagine how much more crowded this place would be. read more
