I wish I could eat ice cream every single day of my life, but I can't, so when I'm out of town and…read moreon the road I take advantage of all the ice cream places I can. After having some dinner down the street, I came across Churn and knew I needed to come and check this place out. This small ice cream shop had a pretty big line on a Monday night when I arrived but it moved quickly and the ice cream looked dang good in the glass display. I decided on getting a two scoop waffle cone with Cookies & Mint and Milk & Cookies. The ice cream tasted super rich and super creamy, both flavours were very good. Overall, Churn is a top notch ice cream parlour and a place I would probably frequent if I lived in Phoenix. The ice cream here is great, the staff was friendly, and I really wish they had some non small and medium t-shirts because I would of left with one. Great spot.

Like literally you can walk between the businesses in the same building. I tried them for the first time during a Windsor/Churn Yelp Elite Event but have since visited Churn alone on my own afterward! I really liked the seasonal flavor milk and cookies because the chocolate chip cookie included in the ice cream is one of their cookies they serve separately anyway, so you know it's good. It had a sweet cream base. My sister and I shared a triple scoop for only $7 and satisfied the both of us. The interior is pretty small, but there's at least patio seating in the back and a bench out front. I'm excited to try other seasonal and permanent flavors in subsequent visits, but for now I love the milk and cookies too much to try anything else and would definitely return for just that!

We ordered the two-scoop special for under $8--strawberry cheesecake and Oreo ice cream. We were able to go straight to the pickup area and avoid the line, and our order was prepared right away. We enjoyed our ice cream while sitting off to the side. There are chairs and tables in an open area where kids can play, or you can simply relax and enjoy your treats. The location is in a plaza surrounded by other businesses like Grimaldi's Pizzeria, Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, and Bath & Body Works, which makes it a nice spot to visit.

The shaded outdoor seating is a huge plus, especially in the Arizona heat--such a great spot to hang and enjoy something sweet. Their menu is massive, with tons of ice cream flavors, shakes, cones, and more--but they also offer a couple vegan options, which I appreciated. I went with the mixed berry sherbet (vegan) and added mixed nuts... SO good. Perfectly balanced--not too sweet, not too tart, just super refreshing. Fair warning: a "small" is basically three scoops high My husband got the chocolate peanut butter brownie and loved it. Friendly service, generous portions, and an overall great vibe. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

I ordered a single scoop of the brown butter pecan ($5), and it was incredibly rich and well balanced with a perfect mix of nutty flavor and smooth sweetness. My husband tried the Dubai chocolate, and it truly lived up to the name. The chocolate flavor was spot on and the subtle texture from the phyllo added a really unique and enjoyable element that translated surprisingly well into ice cream form. There is plenty of seating available, which made it a great place to sit and enjoy our treats without feeling rushed. The staff was genuinely kind and friendly, which made the experience even better. This is definitely a spot we will be coming back to.

We went to Sweet Republic after dinner for a pallet cleanser and saw the reviews and stars and was excited to drop by. The store itself was simple and had the feel of a regular ice cream parlor with bright colors and board full of possibilities. It seems that the selection is pretty diverse offering a nice selection of flavors that are "off the beaten path" such as crème brûlée, brown butter pecan, and salted caramel, along with normal ice cream staples. These were "fine" but not earth shattering. When we walked in there were three teens behind the counter and no welcome or really even acknowledgment of our existence other than we were in line. Despite the collection of flavors we seemed to annoy them and "put them out" asking to try some of the flavors. The truly disappointing part was the lack of generosity of the scoops. It is $4.50 for a single scoop and it is just that a scoop. One slide of the spoon and what ever fills the bowl of the spoon is what you get. So each scoop was a touch bigger than a golf ball. At the End of the Day, I don't like comparing but I'm used to the Valleys selection of Handels franchises where they are generous with their scoops (they brag about it) and generous with their customer service and friendliness. No need to come back with better offerings near by!
