I wish I knew where to find the truck . ... No ice cream could be better. I love Mr. Softee!!!!

I never heard of these guys before but apparently they are the largest operator of soft served ice cream trucks in America. What I really liked about this place is the texture of their ice cream; it truly is soft and tastes basically different from grocery store or other ice cream shops. One small ice cream cone is $5.20 or add an extra dollar if you want it to be a waffle cone. I saw a flavor I haven't seen before called chocolate dipped so I tried that one out; it's essentially vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate; thus you're eating a semi-hard chocolate shell with vanilla ice inside. Great ice cream, terrible business model Who runs a business where finding the place is like playing an expert round of "Where's Waldo?" This is a food truck, and finding where they are is like locating the lost Mayan city. The website is not updated, the Facebook page is not updated, the phone doesn't answer, the email is not answered. There is an app you can download, but it doesn't appear to be updated. I never see the dangers truck. I finally ran into it by accident in the parking lot of a Chevrolet dealership. On to the ice cream: it's excellent. This soft serve will make you happy. It's creamy but light, with a rich vanilla taste and a very light finish. No chemical taste, and it's not greasy like cheap soft serves. The dipped cones are wonderful, and they offer cherry (the best), chocolate, and sprinkles. The base can be chocolate, vanilla, or swirl. They have a TON of toppings, which is one thing that makes them Unique. You can try Caramel, Butterscotch, Pineapple, Strawberry, Cherry, different nuts, candies, candy bars, and lots of other toppings. Their banana boat is a perfect banana split, and their sundaes and shakes use the same soft serve so they're really good. A cone is $4 as of January 2024, so it's not too expensive. If they'd just get a better truck locator app, they'd be great! In the mean time, if you can find the truck, give it a try. It's good. read more

I've been trying to hunt down mister softee of AZ for years! Whenever they were in my area I seemed to be busy! My husband and I went last night to the food trucks in Peoria after we saw they'd be there! It was the perfect way to end our meal. We both got chocolate dipped swirl cones, my husband had a waffle cone for his. It totally satisfied my soft serve craving. Very creamy ice cream, and the perfect amount of chocolate dip. Mom was moving out of her home of 60 years and we invited all of her friends and family over for a great get together. The big highlight for EVERYONE was John and his Mr. Softee ice cream truck! It was really an unexpected and fun experience! John, the owner, really showed up for Mom. He made sure that she and everyone were served delicious, refreshing treats. We vacation in New Jersey and love Mister Softee. When we found out they had a franchise truck here in AZ we knew we had to book for our son's birthday. What a hit. They arrived a few minutes ahead of the scheduled time..that was a plus. He was friendly and had great product and customer service. Everyone from the youngest to the oldest enjoyed having a cold soft serve ice cream on a hot day. My son also received a Mister Softee shirt and replica truck bank that he absolutely loved. I highly recommend Mister Softee to anyone that is throwing a childs birthday..heck I already told my husband that I don't want a gift for my birthday this year. Since the temperatures are getting warmer, I gave Mister Softee a try. I personally thought that the ice cream was delicious - the ice cream truck features soft-serve ice cream with vanilla, swirl, or chocolate flavors. The soft-serve can be dipped with various topping choices, including chocolate-dipped, cherry-dipped, or sprinkled, to name a few. I got the chocolate-dipped ice cream, which was good. Bottom line: Fast service, cool ice cream truck, unique choices - I'm a fan! Just wish they had peanut toppings, though, because I go "nuts" for them. read more

Yay for Ice Cream Trucks! The Mr Softee truck was at the Tale of Two Cities Parade. They had a cool area with a bunch of food trucks off to the side of the booths and college buildings. Close to everything, but out of the way enough to snack with a bit more quiet and less bustle. Had the Rootbeer Float and an ice cream cone for our girls. Smoooooth soft serve on a warm day was a hit with the kids while the float hit the spot for my wife and I. And don't forget the sprinkles! read more

Since leaving NYC, I've tried to indulge in all things that reminded me of home. Mister Softee was the epitome of a NYC summer. There was nothing like running around in the sprinklers and hearing that unavoidable ice cream truck song. So when an email circulated the office, "MISTER SOFTEE IS OUTSIDE NOW!". Not five seconds later did I snatch up my wallet and race my way to the elevator. It was like I was seven again. I get to the window and immediately ask for my usual... "A rainbow sprinkle cone please!" It was just like a remembered. Soft served vanilla ice cream, rolled in rainbow sprinkles on a cone, so simple but so NYC. That'll be FOUR DOLLARS. Ok let me just start off with "WE ALL SCREAM FOR MR. SOFTEE ICE CREAM! Classic ice cream cones, sundaes, and floats. Pricing is very decent for the amount of ice cream you get. I ordered the chocolate covered cone, and a root beer float along with a chocolate ice cream cone. Not all for me, but were they hmmmmm ??? Lol. We really enjoyed our treats from this ice cream truck. They stick to the classics and that's awesome! Customer service is amazing too. So great to see soft serve cones with a choice of dip flavors in a mobile truck. The chocolate dip has a nice slight coffee/mocha flavor. The truck was set up at a company picnic. The server was rude to us when ordering, and then out of nowhere started complaining that he had be there for 2 hours...? Unprofessional service, but the ice cream wasn't bad. Just maybe try a little more customer service if you sport a big Yelp sticker. read more

I called to book PHX Mr Softee 2 weeks before my sons 5th birthday party. They texted me the next day to confirm that they had me "locked in." I called again 15 minutes after they were due to arrive at our party. I was told that I was not on their schedule and that the truck was on the other side of town and that "it's not going to happen." I had a very disappointed 5 year old and 30+ party guests with no ice cream or cake because we counting on the ice cream. I would not recommend. read more

I was lucky enough to catch Mr Softee's truck for the first time in AZ. I'm a NY girl and Mr. Softee is a Long Island staple, and one I have sorely missed!! Just the sight of that truck brought me back to my childhood and truth be told... I think I skipped a little bit on my way through the parking lot. This truck is near my work almost every Friday and I try to go each time. The chocolate shakes are delicious and smooth and creamy! Soft serve ice cream that comes to you is never a bad thing! Basic ice cream flavors: chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. You can customize however you want with sprinkles and toppings (chocolate and butterscotch) in a cup or cone or double cone or shake.
