For a "historic location," it seems to be nothing but a lame dive bar. You think it's going to be a cool, neat place to visit, and it has just been trashed over the years. The owner should not be drinking from the bar supply They do NOT serve food. I ordered a drink, and it was all alcohol and no soda at all. VOMIT!! People here are all over drunk. One night, on June 21st, I was kicked off the premises by Mary and Kevin (who is not qualified security guard and has no guard no badge), because they were "closed," but yet they were throwing a "gay only" party during hours outside of operation. Plus, my boyfriend had a "penis," so we were not allowed in... There were plenty of males there.

Best baby back ribs we've ever had! Super friendly staff. We had a great time. Can't wait to come back.

Always a super fun time. Historic bar with tons of space. Would recommend for events, parties or just a night out.

The place stinks like old cigarette smoke! Food was horrible. It was not a good experience will never go back. Rude staff!

Had a great night at the Oxbow last night. Played pool, listened to live music and everyone made us flat landers feel welcomed.

We both had sunny side up eggs, bacon, hash browns, corned beef hash, delicious fluffy pancakes and bottomless coffee. Everything was piping hot and delicious. They also have a full menu for lunch and dinner. The burgers served at the table next to us looked awesome. This place reminded us of a typical diner back east in New Jersey: happy servers, plentiful and delicious hot and fresh food, great coffee and fresh baked home made pie. So if you find yourself in Payson and need a great meal with a family friendly vibe, go to Crosswinds. They have plenty of free parking too.

We arrived around 7:30am, which was right before it started getting busy. The view is pretty cool. The restaurant is overlooking the runway. After checking in at the front, we were given a table within minutes. Then, our waitress came up and asked us what we wanted to drink. Eventually, we decided what to order and she came back to take our order. The food didn't take long--I'd say about 15 minutes. The food was delicious, to say the least. We both ordered a Western Omelette and shared an order of French Toast. I also took an apple pie and some other baked goods back home with me. The pie was also delicious! The only reason for my 4 stars is because of the service. Some of the employees seemed annoyed to be there and help us. While I understand that the restaurant was busy, you should still maintain composure and try to remain calm under stress. Having worked at a restaurant, I understand the feeling, but you can't let it get to you. Other than that, great little restaurant. I'd come here again.

I ordered the Backwoods burger and subbed a black bean patty and I opted for steak fries. The burger was definitely top 5 burgers I have ever eaten. The black bean patty was something special whatever sauce is on this thing really brought out all of the flavors. The addition of the sautéed jalapeños really set this burger off as they had an amazing flavor profile. I'm serious when I say that I would make the 85 mile trek from Gilbert to Payson just so I can have this burger. We finished up our lunch/dinner with the Mogollon Monster dessert, which is an M&M skillet cookie topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and caramel drizzle. Of course that was really good too, how can you go wrong with a skillet cookie?! If I may make a slight suggestion, instead of topping the cookie with vanilla ice cream, how about blue cookies & cream "Cookie Monster" ice cream given the name of the dessert? The only criticism I have of this place is that the service was a bit slow. After we finished the dessert we sat at the table for about 15 min. before I finally got up and told our server we were ready to go. But, the burger was THAT good to where I have to give this place 5 stars.

Music played but we could talk to each other comfortably. Highly recommend this modestly priced restaurant.

It had that cozy, small-town charm that makes you feel right at home the second you walk in. I ordered the chili and cornbread to start -- the chili was phenomenal! It had just the right amount of spice to give it a kick without being too much. And the cornbread... oh my goodness, mouth-watering doesn't even begin to describe it. For my meal, I had eggs, toast, and sausage -- everything tasted homemade, like something your mom would whip up in her kitchen on a Sunday morning. Truly comfort food at its best. The service was great -- friendly and welcoming -- and the inside was exactly what you'd expect from a small-town café: super cute, quaint, and full of charm. If you're passing through, this spot is definitely worth stopping for. Delicious food, kind people, and that cozy hometown feel!
