Remember that awesome bar on the mountain? We were so bummed today - it used to be *the* place for an ice-cold beer, served in those perfectly frosty mugs with a little bit of ice on top. It's just not the same anymore, no mugs.which is a huge downer. Still, though, it's got that really cool, old-school vibe; you feel like you've stepped back in time when you walk in. It is a great experience overall, even if the beer isn't quite as frosty and delish as it used to be! The food was good onion rings nice and crispy. The food was good, I had a $20 burger and it was huge! The outdoor patio was wonderful and the weather was perfect. Cocktails were good too. My only issue is that not many people to tend bar and serve food . If you have a couple hours to wait, all good. read more

Definitely an old, local, bar and grill in the country. We went for lunch, and had to be served by the bartender, which was not high service. The fries were tasty but way over-salted. The cheesesteak tasted like beef stroganoff, not what I'm looking for in cheesesteak, and it was vey chewy. Definitely not worth $25. The chicken sandwich was pretty good, but not worth $20. read more

We stopped in after a Can Am ride in the area and it didn't disappoint. Total hole in the wall, neighborhood watering hole vibe. Service was fast and friendly. Food was delicious. It was fun reading the walls of dollar bills. read more

Great burgers patties are large I ordered a Double 1/3 pound and it was huge I had to ask if they did in fact, give me the 1/3 pound as it looked like I had gotten the half pound. Hands down one of the best spots in payson. Had a wonderful experience during our over night trip at Christopher creek. The service and food were outstanding! Being that it's off season, the bartender was also the server and the cook! She was on top of everything and we never had to wait for drinks or anything. Pizza was phenomenal. Wow! This place is cool! We went for lunch off the beaten path with an airstream. Really glad we did. The bar however, has limited food menu on the weekdays. Pizza was good, but the onion rings were burnt. Long sleeve T-shirts I thought were way over priced $25. Melodi was very nice and great bartender answering all of our tourist questions. Holly smokes!! Been coming here for a few years and dropped in on Saturday afternoon. Place was in disarray. Behind the bar seemed like a cat and mouse act ‍ had a draft beer and soda. 10+ gave a 20 and was told " the rest a tip". Came in on the Sunday after the 4th not expecting such great food and atmosphere all the way out of town. Burgers were great, jalapeno cheese tater tots were insane, and we were lucky enough to sit in on a couple rounds of karaoke ran by the lovely owner. My partner and I couldn't help but love the place as it reminded us of the home town hangs we grew up going to where everyone knows each other. Also got a Ruben that basically was like eating beef jerky. Fries were cold and limp. Kids tenders were overcooked. $12 for 4 sodas that were never refilled. A friend of mine and I love to meet up, go hiking or backpacking, and eat off the beaten path. This place was definitely off the beaten path. The owner and his son were working and sitting at the bar. Very friendly and inviting so my friend and I sat down at the bar and ordered food. The prime rib sliders were great and the wings were better. Two drunk women busted through the back door yelling at my friend at I, trying to get a rise out of us. I guess having California plates and wearing a nondescript tee shirt and jeans will offend. A man next to us apologized for their behavior, quietly. For a good ten minutes they stood behind us making comments and trying to incite some sort of response from us. They were ignored while we ate our food. I didn't know they were even speaking to us as I couldn't believe grown up women would behave that way, until my friend told me all the things they were saying later. My friend and I know each other because we served in the Air Force together, we both recently separated. I don't know know what could have been done but I won't be going back. As an ICU nurse I've dealt with enough assholes the past few years to last a lifetime. I don't need to deal with them while I'm trying to connect with old friends and share a meal. read more

Went here for breakfast with the recommendation of the staff at Kohl's Ranch Lodge since their restaurant was not serving breakfast currently. With four of us we had a good variety of food and everything was excellent. Chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy, eggs and pancakes all hot and delicious! Can't go wrong! read more

Awesome Tonto Village small town Bar with great drinks, food, a mini-market and a large pet-friendly outside area. Service is great and people are very friendly. Pool tables, darts, etc. A handy place for not only the locals but for people who are camping, hiking, off-roading, fishing, exploring nearby. Highly recommend! This is our 4-5 times here and it does not disappoint. The place is always clean, people (most locals) are always friendly, the bartenders have always been awesome. We went Saturday at around 3:30-4:00 and the bartender (we did not get his name but the owner is his dad) was one of the best bartenders we ever met! He was on top of getting our drinks, our food and has a great personality. The drinks were cold, food was delicious, my husband's burger was juicy and full of flavor that he did not have to use mayo or other condiments. I had a patty melt and it was also juicy. The fries were abundant and huge! We love this place and will visit again and again. read more

Authentic rustic bar and grill. Only place for miles that serves breakfast. Travis is a great chef, wait staff is efficient and friendly. Breakfast burrito was great and I suggest you get hash browns on the side because they ere cooked perfectly, nice and crisp.
