We stopped in for a beer while deciding where to go next. Small bar area up front with a warm personality and coastal decor. The relaxed atmosphere was filled with what seemed like mostly locals. A half dozen beers on tap. I enjoyed a tasty IPA. The friendly and helpful bartender made the experience even more enjoyable.

She responded "oh I'm happy to throw away $20 worth of meat". Rude and inappropriate. Then when my spouse attempted to calmly let her know her behavior was unacceptable she tried to defend herself instead of apologizing. After 4-5 very pleasant experiences this was enough so that We will NEVER spend another red cent in this establishment.

Our group of seven was seated right away thanks to our reservation, but the wait for both drinks and food was on the longer side. Our server apologized multiple times, which we appreciated, and we passed the time playing phone games with the kids to keep them busy. The pierogies were a highlight, with a nicely crispy exterior and a creamy filling, and the shoestring fries came out salty and crunchy. My chicken cordon bleu sandwich, though, didn't really live up to the name, and the side salad was pretty plain with just a basic vinaigrette. My wife's grilled cheese with fried chicken strips also seemed a bit undercooked, and the chicken had a slightly rubbery texture. Overall it wasn't our best dining experience, but the atmosphere inside is very nice and the staff themselves are kind.

What used to be a sketchy area is now filled with boutique shops, bustling businesses of tech and industry, arts, culture, and restaurants. One such upscale craft cocktail bar is Wolf Tree. If you didn't know it, you might feel as if you'd stepped into a hipster cocktail lounge in Brooklyn as you walk into Wolf Tree. They offer a variety of playful and inventive drinks. My friend was able to get a virgin cocktail but I just wish they had more than one single cocktail on the menu with vodka. With my choices somewhat limited, I went with a drink called "Friday I'm In Love": vodka, citrus, strawberry, mint, and bubbles. It looked beautiful when it arrived to the table and was a palate pleaser with sour, sweet, and minty flavors. They have weekly specials, classic-type cocktails, and what they call "happy meals" - a beer and shot combination. Don't fear, though, they still have Budweiser, Bud Lite, Miller High Life, and other draft beers for those feeling more traditional Upper Valley. We also ordered one of their charcuterie boards that featured local selections of cheese and meats, olives, pickled vegetables, cured mustards, and a baguette. A great selection but like most of Wolf Tree, a little on the expensive side. Overall I enjoyed my first trip to Wolf Tree and I'm glad hip places like this exist in the Upper Valley.
