The pain center on 91st and Thunderbird was not a good experience. I waited a long time in the waiting room. I saw Jennifer, who had a bossy and impatient attitude with me for no reason. No compassion in her tone of voice. She informed me that 'she' does not prescribe pain medication, but will give shots and certain procedures. I'm 70 years old and she saw the MRIs showing my severe back and hip problems, and yet, she treated me like I was a waste of her time. When I meet a NP or doctor with such an impatient, snotty and cold attitude, that is a huge red flag for me that this person is insecure about their self and their job. She printed out a list of Pain Centers that 'might' prescribe pain meds and they were very far away from my area. I knew this list was a ridiculous hand-out. I called my insurance company and received a list of MANY pain centers very close to me. The one I'm going to is right around the corner from where I live. I wish I had read the bad reviews before clocking out of work to go there. I was glad to get out of that place and never go back! Update: I just found out by my provider that Jennifer lied to me. She said that my provider didn't want me to be on Tramadol and zolpidem at the same time. My doctor said she never said 'such a thing.' So Jennifer is not only rude and bossy, but I can now add "liar" to her pitiful career. read more

When I first came I could not walk. And I was only 56 years and I needed to the help of a cane and walker. After going through the suggested medical care plan personalized just me, I am pain free. Very disappointing. After spending 30 minutes checking in and paying a copay I was called in and had all my stats taken. After that I saw an NP who asked a few questions and had me lean on a table. I was offered an implant into my back or was told if that didn't work they couldn't help me. I asked about my pain medication which I was almost out of and was told they were strictly intervention and didn't prescribe medication. I again asked about a refill because if I ran out I would go through withdrawal and was told that's to bad. I had recently just moved to Arizona from Nevada had not had my prescription filled since December. If they told me up front they were strictly intervention I would not wasted my money on a copay or my time or their time. read more

Dr. Jones believes he is God. ( hardly ) He will not speak with his patients. Dr. Jones leaves that to anyone that is available. These underlings may or may not have a medical history. 12 weeks and $35,000.00+, I'm worse off now than I was before I went in for those bogus injections. The entire office staff sucks, and they have no desire to improve there emphatic behavior. I went in for arthritic pain in my neck, I also have bulging disks. I did not want pain pills but the Celebrex didn't really work anymore. They continuously gave me steroid injections (which caused pre mature cataracts). They did a nerve ablation to kill nerves in my neck. They did not do it well (I felt the needle crunching into my vertebrae (Dr jones was surprised I wasn't numb enough to feel all that). It didn't take properly and I just was numb to the touch but still had internal pain. It's now wore off completely and the nerves are pissed. I am in agony! Flipping scam ad far as I am concerned! Sent me to get steroid injections in my back. Told me I didn't need sedation, when I got all the way into the surgery room on the table, they decided I needed sedation and wouldn't do it because I didn't have a ride. I rescheduled when I was able to have someone take me. When I got there they said wouldn't do it again because I ate a banana 4 hours before. Nobody told me don't eat anything before. What a waist of my time and money, not to mention the time of the person driving me. Don't go here. read more

Extremely frustrating practice to work with. Let me know the afternoon before my morning appointment that location was being moved bc the provider wasn't going to be there, after they called & emailed multiple times to confirm the appointment. Moved me to the other location, never received my imaging items so had to pick them up and was 10 minutes late-- wouldn't see me. I understand the importance of promptness for a day but i called to let them know i was going to be late and was told if you get here in 15 minutes of appointment they will see you. Incorrect. They rescheduled me for later in the day after i said i was leaving town for work. Luckily i called to reschedule as i said i would and got that appointment changed. I'm stuck in this practice so hopefully after two months of trying to seek treatment i finally will. I will not be coming back to the Peoria or Sun City locations. read more

lol have been a patient for over ten years. the past two years has been hell trying to work with them. they are untruthful, lazy, poor customer service, the office manager Susan is useless as well as the patient advocate, Janet. I have requested my medical records numerous times since April 2022. it is now July 2022 and they have refused to help me obtain my medical records. they state they outsource to a third party. They indicate it is not their problem and will not assist me. I spoke to the third party and they indicated the facility never sent them the requests. I had a scheduled appointment on March 23rd, it was at 1145 I received an email to please be there 15 min early and I was in line for check in at 1132 give or take a minute. I waited at least 6 minutes in line. When I tried to check in I was told I was late and would have to re schedule. At that time It was still around 8 minutes till my appointment. I'm not understanding the complete lack of customer service and care for thier patients. I took the day off work to be there today and their office seemed to not care. I didn't hold out much hope that anyone or anything could help my neck and shoulder pain. I tried EVERYTHING. For 30 years. Acupuncture,massage,chiropractic,Tens unit, magnets - everything with no long term relief. Dr Burgher has been able to do the impossible! I have had 3 shots at the McDowell location. The first 2 did not really do much - a bit of relief, but my fingers were still tingling and numb. Each time I went he and his staff were very kind, caring and professional. I feel he really went out of his way to listen to me and cared. The third shot did the trick. I can feel my fingers, the numbness has greatly decreased. My neck pain is about 90% gone. The goal is pain management and he delivered! I find his support staff to be efficient and truly listen as well. Eric Cole, the P.A. told me they will do everything possible to keep me from surgery and so far I am very hopeful that they will. read more

If I had a choice of a 1/4 of a star this is what I would choose. Although, the office is clean, the staff are friendly, (even the doctor), and there are pictures on the walls which promise "Live again" "Laugh again" and so on.......My visit went great BUT.......THAT WAS THE END OF IT. When I got home after the visit I realized that the medication I was taking, (prescribed by this office) was making me agitated and sad. I called an reported that and received a call back, (48 hours) later. I was told, the DOCTOR THINKS, "we have a good plan in place" WHAT?? I called back, left another message and asked if he could put me back on a lesser medication of which I was taking when I came to his office. NO CALL BACK YET, 4 days later. WELL, He's fired! Recently had an appointment at The Pain Clinic. Was disappointed in their approach to transitioning my pain medication (it was a low dose pain patch) saying one thing and doing another. End result, I was left to run out of medication. I used the remaining patch to ween off. Not too big of an issue. On the other hand, had I been on Vicodin or Oxy, I would have been left in crisis with few good options. Not compassionate, not caring and not acceptable. read more

I always feel very confident having injection procedures here because I know my low back pain is about to be relieved. He listens to me and takes time to help. I have been a patient of Dr. Doust and Steve Adler since 2002. As a result I have a neurostimulator implant that enables me to have a normal life (a wheelchair was my only other option). Steve has seen me since 2010 and is really amazing. So kind, professional, knowledgeable and takes time to assess and come up with a plan to relieve the chronic pain I experience. I have had a poor experience with 2 physicians who no longer work there and waiting 1.5 to 2 hours for an appointment is really outrageous. I can't fault the staff, they are working as fast as possible to get to everyone, but the practice seems to overbook or double book appointments that are unreasonable for their staff to manage. read more

I waited for HOURS only to be escorted into one office and then another to wait some more. No one thought anything of my long wait. No one apologize. Apparently,only the doctor's time is important and if you're desperate enough to seek treatment, you should be happy waiting however long they decide. Then you write them a check! I love Annette our treating physician , but every time for the last year on my monthly appt, I have had to wait over one hour past my appointment time. They constantly double and triple book. You are treated like cattle, why, because they know you don't have a choice. It's a failed system, and a provider who just doesn't care about anything except money. So sad and frustrating. read more

I transferred from the Arcadia clinic to Peoria after having a discogram done by Dr. Abram Burgher. There was nothing particularly wrong with the Arcadia clinic; I just felt like there was no real urgency to the importance of my case. I was really wowed by how attentive and kind Burgher and his staff were. This has remained true as I have been seeing his PA, Annette Tuszynski. I am given as much time as needed for every appointment, and have been treated with the utmost of concern and respect during each visit. I would heartily recommend this site to anyone needing pain management. read more

I was sent to the Pain Center for lower and mid back pain. In September 2021 they asked me which was more severe at the moment and I said my mid-back pain but my lower back pain is more consistent and problematic. They decided on an epidural treatment plan (which is tough to schedule because it takes you out of work for two days and your "ride" out of work for 3-4 hours every time) for my mid-back pain. I went in today to ask about x-ray results and inquire about what can be done about my lower back pain, now that I had started the treatments for my mid-back pain. It was then I was informed that they would only treat one body part at a time and I couldn't receive treatment for my lower back pain. I was shocked and the Nurse Practitioner (the only person I've seen at this location) was very dismissive of me and cutting me off when I tried to discuss it further. Just that the Doctor would only treat one body part at a time. She was not clear about this the first time, I would have chosen my lower back pain if I had known as it impacts my daily activities and work more than the middle back pain which is often a pinched nerve situation that can come and go. If you have a complex problem, or pain in more than one place, I would NOT recommend them. I'm very upset that my treatment options and choices were not more clear, I feel like I've had my medical decisions for my own treatment removed. read more

Just go somewhere else! The wait times are horrible! One hour just to follow up with the NP. Over three hours my first visit for 10 minutes of talk! Dr. Burgher may have decent skills but his manners SUCK! He insulted me twice! My first visit accused me of being depressed without care of knowing how much pain i was in and that I had a migraine as well at the time. The second time after giving me injections he asked if he needed to get me an ice cream like he does for his little boy. What?!?! These injections put me into shock! BP 58/30! I never write reviews but I want people to know that I have been going to this place for 6 months and they have treated me with respect every time. they worked with me to find the right methods to reduce my pain. The combination of meds and nerve blocks helps me so much. I have testicular issues and as anyman will tell you it's a very sensitive issue but Dr Burgher and Dr Alder have worked hard to help me control my severe pelvic pain. The only problem is they are so busy every time I go in and the waiting time is to long they need to do a better job on the scheduling to reduce waiting time in the lobby. read more

My Mom was referred to this clinic by her Primary Care DR, I should have checked it out before taking a referral!! This is a DANGEROUS place! I do not feel that we should ever have to ask a Dr if the drug or procedure that she is prescribing interferes or causing a bad reaction with another drug that I am taking! Thank God that we asked, as we refused to get a Toradol injection until the nurse checked with the Dr for drug interactions. The Dr came back in and said "thanks for asking that question, because the blood thinner you are taking when mixed with this injection could cause severe bleeding." After a 2 HOUR wait, we got no help for Mom's pain and we seriously left in a hurry before she killed my Mom with her bad judgement and lack of concern. NOT GOING BACK!!!!! i have been receiving tx for a few years due to residual nerve pain after cancer, Thiamine deficiency and multiple surgical complications with the cancer. A new NP Jodie came into the exam room, never asked how i was doing, immediately started to lecture me on government regulations and how they dictate treatment for patients and she has to follow and how 2 of her patients died that week from meds. I was amazed at her unprofessional behavior and lack of privacy towards others, she continued on her lecture about government regulations and that all my previous providers (Greg, Annette and Sharon)at the pain center has been treating me with the wrong meds for the last 4 years, wow i was really dumb-founded with that remark, made me really question the quality of care here. She then refused treatment and med refills that give me a little quality of life, the ability to interact with my grand kids and not hide because of the excruciating pain. She insisted on MRI at the cost of $3000.00 since I am a cash pay, tried to get MRI done couple months ago when i had ins. but they kept sending orders to wrong Rad. Company that was not on my ins. finally 2 days before this appt. i was able to schedule. I explained to her that Neuropathy and fibromyalgia is not seen on an MRI and my med records are on file for her review. I also told her I would be getting my new insurance 1/1/18 since the lapse was due to change of employers. Yes I shared my concerns of pain, quality of life and the risk of catastrophic medical problems and death stopping meds suddenly, and how it was not standard of care. She showed no compassion No care and refused continued care with minimal of dose reduction to avoid complications. STAY AWAY FOR YOUR OWN HEALTH AND SAFETY. JODIE IS VERY DANGEROUS LACK OF HER OWN SKILL SET AND INDIVIDUAL PATIENT CARE AND TREATMENT. Praying i will be okay as i go thru major withdraw.
