We each walked away with a different and fabulous looking project - and I can't draw a straight line to save my life! I *hate* trying to park in Leesburg, but have no fear, you can safely park here. There's no oncoming traffic or crazy tiny spaces. Once inside you will be floored by the selection. This is Beadazzled but better. They have *plenty* of gemstone hanks in different shapes and sizes. Everything is extremely reasonably priced for what's on offer. They have miyuki shoji beads. They have a whole rainbow of seed beads in different sizes (6/0, 8/0, 10/0) if you're a Native crafter and are looking to really do some serious work on your regalia. I bought some amazing jasper ovals, some very nice glass globe beads that look like the ocean, and some tiny malia bloom beads. They hold classes here and help the community by helping the Girl Scouts and other entities. These folks really care about their neighbours, so please support them.

She was also willing to work with me and my visual impairment even though it seemed to be her first time having a visually impaired person in her class. She seemed nervous about it, but she was willing to put that aside, and we negotiated the parts of the class that would be safe for me to participate in (I didn't really want to try the soldering anyway lol). I think that was the thing that most impressed me, she was willing to step outside her comfort zone, and for someone who is teaching a new art form to a bunch of people who are probably stepping outside their own comfort zones I think this is a great quality to have! You can also create a private workshop with family/friends if you want so share the experience with people you know. The space is open, inviting and super clean for a pottery studio! The staff and instructors are really nice and helpful and their prices are competitive with other pottery studios in the area. Pops is currently showing here along with his fellow artists from Building 10 at the Lorton Workhouse Arts Center, so husband, Moms and I went to the wine and cheese reception they held to kick off the show. Curators and employees are friendly and knowledgeable, and the caliber of artist is exceptional (no bias here, really). All the pieces on show are for sale, and the gallery also has a little gift area selling smaller pieces like stationery, jewelry, and pottery. Husband and I picked up a miniature ceramic vase for a steal. ArtSpace is a bit isolated and remotely located near "Old Town" Herndon, but it's worth seeking out.

It's a large airy room and showed about 40 (?) paintings, about twenty from each with subjects ranging from children, landscapes, plants and some a little more complicated. Although it was a little hard to find, there was adequate parking and a selection of restaurants nearby in old Herndon center where you could have lunch if you wanted.
