Please be cautious when considering Royalty Pets Boarding. When I first met Kris, he assured me that my dog would have full access to their home and sleep on her dog bed in his bedroom. I was relieved and happy to hear this, especially as someone who treats their dog like family. However, I had immediate concerns about how the dogs were let outside, as the backyard has no fence and backs up to a lake. The house itself appeared spotless and quiet, which gave me initial comfort. I believe I used their services four times in total. Each time I dropped off my dog, Kris would quickly take her into the house on a leash. I never once saw his wife, kids, or any other dogs during pick-up or drop-off--which I found unusual. When I picked her up, she was always leashed and brought directly to the front door. The first few times, I noticed faint yellow stains on her underside. My dog has pure white fur and has never had staining issues before. But after leaving her with them in July 2025, she came home completely covered in yellow stains--on her legs, belly, bottom, and tail. I bathed her immediately, but the stains wouldn't come out. It was clear she had been sitting in urine for a long time. I texted Kris right away, and he claimed it could have been grass stains. That was absolutely not the case. I now believe my dog was confined in a converted garage space--likely in a crate or small enclosure--and left sitting on soiled pee pads for days. My dog has never been caged before. She's trained to go to the bathroom outside, and this experience was traumatic for both of us. A neighbor who lives a few doors down even told me they've never seen Kris walking a dog, which only confirmed my fears. I wish I had trusted my instincts after the first few visits. My family and friends were heartbroken when they saw the pictures of her condition. I will be attaching those photos for reference. We will never use Royalty Pets again and cannot in good conscience recommend them. Please don't be fooled by their friendly communication, text updates, or staged photos of dogs in front of the same setup. I'm now certain my dog never spent any real time inside their spotless home. We feel deceived and devastated that our beloved dog was left in such filthy conditions. In response to the owner's comment: It's interesting that only after I left an honest review, he's now making up false claims to cover himself. I have multiple texts from him during my dog's stay saying things like, "Your dog is doing great, she's happy and comfortable with no issues." If you care about your dog's well-being, I strongly recommend asking for a full house tour--including the garage, which is likely filled with crates where the dogs are kept. How is it acceptable to crate a dog for seven days on urine-soaked pads that stain their fur? My dog is fully potty trained and incredibly sweet. Important information you need to know about before you ever consider Royalty Pets! I am writing this post because I have had the same negative experience with my pets like the women Erica Negrin who has previously posted. As a pet parent when utilizing Kris's services... I laid out my expectations and typed instructions for caring for my pets. He assured me that my pets will have free roam of his house and will be walked several times a day in the neighborhood and treated like family. However, none of that was true, in fact my pets were isolated, neglected, lost weight, fearful, and my white Maltese under belly, legs, and tail were covered in yellow urine stains. The total opposite of how I left them, which was happy, healthy and clean. I am sharing my experience and concerns as follows. * Why is Kristopher Sargeant, owner of Royalty Pets, not have a fenced in backyard for the dogs to run around in since he doesn't walk the dogs in the neighborhood? * Most dog owners train and want their dogs to pee and poop outside when they go for walks and not use pee pads for their entire lives like his dog does. He is forcing trained dogs to pee inside the house now. That is absurd. * Obviously my dogs were never walked in the 7 days while they were at this house. A neighbor said they never saw Kris walking any dogs, nor did they realize he had a dog sitting service. No dogs were ever seen with Kris or his family. * Kris told us that he dog sits a maximum of 4 dogs at a time, and since I had 4 dogs, there will be no other dogs besides mine in his house. * Why is he stating now "we only take in small breed dogs and in low volume 1-2 at a time." When he always took my 4 dogs? * Why did my 4 dogs come back home 1-1.3 pounds of weight loss? I asked him that question and his answer was "they chased my kids," I seriously doubt that. They certainly can't run outside in his open backyard near a lake. I walk my dogs several times per day, and they never lose a pound in 7 days. How do you explain the rapid weight lost? It can only mean that my 4 dogs were not fed and kept in crates all day long & very nervous. It makes me sick to think about this! * Why are there never any dogs barking when I ring or knock on the door? My dogs should have been in the house awaiting my arrival when I knocked and barking. * Where are they being confined away from the main house? In the garage ? * I never signed any documentation regarding crating my dogs. Another lie. * Kris's home appears spotless. There are no pee pads on the floor; no dog toys or bones or dog beds around or water bowls . There is no evidence that any animal lives or stays in his house. That is probably because he runs this operation out of his garage and makes the dogs live out there in crates and isolated from everyone. * He does not take regular pictures to share with their owners. Instead, he has one staged photo in the same place. Never any spontaneous pictures. * Last visit, my Maltese had yellow discoloration, and it obviously looked like he had been lying in urine for a long time. He looked exactly like the photos of the dog that was posted on (Erica Negrin) google review. My first action was to get him groomed immediately to remove all those yellow stains. * Kris is very convincing and had an answer for everything I questioned him about. I now realize he was selling a false image of providing luxury care, when in fact, he was negligent and only cared about $$$, and not the animal's well-being. as I experienced this firsthand. * When I saw the post from that lady, I realized that there were other people out there that had negative experiences and similar problems. * The pictures she posted are evidence that says it all. Who wants to see their pet covered in urine like that? It is sickening to imagine. * For someone who has been in business for 18 years, why does he not have any negative reviews? Because he deletes them. No one is perfect. He is selling a deceptive service. Kris only cares about his image, not the of animals. Here is a FACT per Google and I quote "A mix of ratings can build more trust, as an overly perfect 5 - star rating can look suspicious to users." I am glad this lady had the courage and fortitude to write her post with clear evidence that cannot be disputed. Others acknowledged the same issues. Trust is vital in leaving your fur baby in someone's care, and when that is destroyed it is damn near impossible to ever feel comfortable trusting anyone again. Our dogs cannot speak for themselves, so it is up to us, as pet parents, to speak for them. I can only imagine if my fur babies could speak, what would they say... We needed to go out of town for a few das and we were looking for a pet hotel. After we visited a few pet hotels we found Royalty Pets, a family owned boarding and pet sitting service. We contacted them and got a reply very quickly. We set a meet and greet a few days before the boarding date. Royalty Pets was very caring and responsive towards our concerns and needs and communicated with us frequently to let us know how our dogs were doing. Upon pick up our puppies looked happy and well cared for. One of our dogs didn't even want to leave! This was the best pet sitting service we have ever had. Never had to leave my three pups outside of the family circle before. I had lots of concerns and anxiety. Melissa and Kristopher welcomed all of us to their beautiful home for a meet and greet. Everything went well. They took exceptional care of Pinky, Pup, and Teddy Bear. They were always responsive to my texts and even sent me a picture of my gang chilling out.
