I met up with some friends on an evening trip to Saugerties. We came to The Partition for some light bites and drinks before our nearby sunset kayak tour. First off, I love this little town. It's quaint but feels current, and very walkable. We arrived around 430P and had no issues with parking right across the street. Brandon with the aviation shades, was bartending and doing all the things. He was very nice. We ordered drinks and food with him, and he brought our order to our table. We kept the food order simple. Everything was really good and we shared all of the dishes. Wings - I ordered them sin salsa because I just love a good naked wing Street Corn Fries - these were really good, messy but good Meat & Cheese Board - simple charcuterie Pear & Truffle Flatbread - goat cheese, arugula, basil pine-nut pesto, and a balsamic glaze. This was amazing They have a decent variety of beers on and off tap, and a full bar. I had one brew with my food and it was all good. The vibe is super chill and laid back. The signage is funny, and bathroom is clean. They have a nice sized indoor/outdoor space, and host weekly events. I would definitely love to come back. When we finished up with our kayaking, we passed by again, and the place got packed and was bustling, even on a Thursday evening. Now that our friend had moved to the area, we have a good reason to visit more often. The area is a nice escape from the city. read more

My husband and I and our friends went to the Partition last Friday night. We met the new owner, very nice and ordered a couple of drinks. After laughing and talking about life we all ordered the pizza. My husband and I had a regular cheese pizza, half with chicken, half with sausage and our friends had half goat cheese and half something else, I don't remember. The pizza was very good with a great crust.? The staff was very friendly as well. We also had the spring rolls as appetizers before the pizza. Very good also including the duck sauce. Came here on a Thursday night to meet up with a friend. I'm not a local around here, so he recommended this spot, which he happens to lives around the block from and visits frequently it appears. The place is in a very interesting location; the main bar is in a garage with plenty of outdoor seating and a fountain to add to the atmosphere. They had this 2 tacos for $6 deal, and after ordering two tacos, I ended up ordering 4 more. They were that good, even from someone who has eaten a ton of them from traveling all over the world. Drinks are pretty standard for the most part. The service is what makes this place amazing. Everyone is super friendly, attentive, and great sense of humor. Is there anything better than enjoying a daytime cocktail al fresco? I don't know- but after a long weekend trip and staying in a Yurt, we continued our festivities with only 2 well-made Mimosas before heading home. The neat thing about Partition is that- it's actually an all-in-one type place with enough space than you'd imagine. It was supposed to be an in and out type day, drink our Mimosas and head home- but it was such a chill afternoon with Partition's owner (forgot his name but I wanna call him either Andrew, Michael or Daniel)- who made it worth our while for a good 45 minutes we were there. From street side, Partition's long driveway, leads to the Bar. Opened since June (I think), it has lots of streamlined woods, concrete walls and metal. The patio really looks like an adult playground where you can catch a live band, play some games, hobnob, sip, or just lounge- under the stars. Menu items look good and even though hubby and I weren't there to eat, the fact that the owner took 45 minutes of his busy time to chat with us and beyond friendly- is greatly appreciated. I don't particularly see Partition as romantic but it's actually a cool spot to catch up with your friends or maybe just throw a few back- if that's your thing. Otherwise, enjoy a cocktail or two, light bites and live music- while the good vibes flow. read more

This is the best burger in town. No fancy gimmicks just a good meat blend on a good bun with good cheese. One visit I was with 9 people. 7 of them ordered the burger. It seemed everyone wanted it cooked a different way. Every burger came out perfect to order and everyone was happy. This might sound easy to do but trust me it's not. The fries are that perfect level of crisp on the outside but still have that soft inside that brings the flavors together. Overall the menu is not big and nothing is fancy or trendy. Mostly bar type food but what they have is good and the Chef definitely takes pride in every dish that leaves that kitchen. Drinks are always on point and the staff help create a really chill laid back atmosphere. This is my go to place for when friends are in town. A lot of restaurants in town are awesome but it seems it can be a hit or miss in most of them. The Partition never fails to deliver and always hits it out of the ballpark. read more

Awesome spot to stop and catch up with friends! My wife spotted the fountain located in the courtyard surrounding the bar. We grabbed a couple beers and utilized the photo booth they had in the corned. The bartender was super friendly and played some great music while we watched a soccer game over a couple brews. Good drinks for good prices (draft IPA was $6) and good for groups. Plenty of outdoor seating right now during Covid times, and all the bartenders and servers were wearing masks the whole time (yay!). While The Partition only serves bar food, they do it well. It's a cool spot. We were a little disappointed by the limited beer selection since it's very basic. The food was surprisingly good though. We ordered the loaded fries, street corn & empanadas. Came here on a Saturday evening with my brother and gf to grab something to eat and a couple drinks. Beer and drink selection is good, easy to find something for everyone and it's a step above a typical bar. We split a bunch of apps and were very happy with everything that came out. I personally really enjoyed the wings and their loaded fries, which were awesome. Waitstaff was also very friendly and super helpful as I am not from the area. I'll preface this one with had been here a dozen times prior and enjoyed it. Nothing special but nice place to sit, grab a drink and some bites if you like being outside in the air. Fun selection of food, reasonably prepared and generally promptly served. They lost the "decent" rating with last night's performance...we sat at the "wait to be seated sign for a long time....forever...finally a server comes over and tells us to sit where we wanted and he'd find us. Perusing thru uncleared tables later, we discovered that to find us he either needed a compass or a signal flare. No one came. People walked by us to other tables and we waved but I guess not high enough? The woman next to us mentioned that it took them a while too....so we waited a bit longer, and a large party with servers kids came on I guess one of the servers new that family because we went immediately running to them, and then walked RIGHT BY US WAVING At HER with the other parties menus...none for us yet....so we waited a little longer as she HUGGED at least one of the people in that group (thanks for making us feel safe!!!!) and then started taking their drink order. Now...I understand if they got swamped....but to watch someone else right in and get the red carpet while we sat there being ignored for 20 plus minutes and then watch a complete lack of respect for current Covid protocols????? We left. You can keep your damned Mac and cheese balls and street corn. There's lots of other great places to take out money in this town. Not worth it! read more

Went to this place because I heard great things about it. Arrived there went to the bar to get first drink, the bar was crowded however I waited a good amount of time. After being overtly avoided I kindly asked for some help giving the benefit of a doubt that the bartender(s) were busy and hadn't seen me. I was responded to with a contemptuous 'No. No.' and a distasteful finger wag. The tone was obvious enough that 4 people around me said 'wow, what was that about' . Of course I have no clue, I don't know this person and spend most of my days in the city. I am a cute bi-racial girl though, maybe I offended her with my skin. No worries, I will not be back. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at this bar. We were being our usual touristy-selves and were drawn in by the mesmerizing fountain display that center pieces the patio. Our waitress, Angelica, was the staple that holds this establishment together. Her attention to detail was spot on and when we decided to challenge her, she proved up for the task. My spouse ordered seasoned ice, and most of you don't even know what that means but Angelica did and she even followed up with the perfect pair of blue cheese stuffed olives to complete our drink. Her spirit and charisma were more entertainment than we could handle, so we decided to come back and visit a second time. Right away Angelica recognized who we were and she managed to pick up on conversation without and effort. The next time we pass through Saugerties we will be stopping for one of her world famous pickle back shots. read more

We live in MA and stumbled upon The Partition while searching for a rehearsal dinner spot. I can't say enough about Chris and his staff! Since the first day we showed up unannounced to check out the place and through the entire process Chris was very accommodating and communication was top notch. The food and drink was amazing! After a beautiful day and a wonderful hike with girl friends, we stopped in Saugerties to walk in town. We saw the open outdoor space and the fountain and decide to try this restaurant and I am so happy we did. Our waiter, Josh was friendly, accommodating and delightful. The food was excellent and. Great value for the price. I highly recommend the cheeseburger - it was delicious. We sat outside and enjoyed the outdoor space and the great music playlist while having our drinks.
