I'm not one to leave bad reviews, hardly ever, but I'm hoping this sentiment pushes for positive change. The experience I had today leads me to encourage anyone considering this party shop to unfortunately travel further to ANY other store. I brought six regular-size balloons that cost $16 to fill each with helium. I don't fear overpriced things in this side of town, but the rudeness of the folks - who framed this expensive service as a favor - put me over the edge. While I was there, myself and others were ignored and treated passive-aggressively. As I walked around the shop, other customers came over to ME to express their dissatisfaction with my treatment, but mostly to explain why they were also upset. I hadn't raised a fuss so I'm not sure why I became a bit of a lightning rod, but it was nice we were all in the same boat. I wish I had some good constructive criticism; but it's just a general warmth that one would expect at any business, but especially a party store, that was not only absent, but replaced with a black hole for funds and kindness. If folks working here are struggling in other areas of their life, I send them love and hope that things improve; bad vibes always have a source somewhere. I wish I had seen all these bad reviews before stepping into this shop, which by the way, I will never again! The shop owner is extremely rude and devious. She was incensed by a customer who came in to blow up balloons last minute, whispering to me in a condensing voice "she must be the nanny'! She then proceeded to over charge me for 3 greeting cards, and when I asked for the receipt she hesitated, and started going over how much they were . Bottom line: she overcharged me!! to make matters worse, she then tried to refund me less money then what I was owed! All around bad experience...people beware! read more

The lady at the counter was incredibly rude. However, my concern was overhearing her conversation with a young employee. She was quizzing the employee as to whether they liked girls or boys and even went as far as asking if they slept with girls or boys which then morphed into young boys or older boys? It was extremely concerning to me. While my companion ushered her attention away, I pulled the young employee aside and told them no one was allowed to ask them those types of questions at work. The young person told me they did not speak very good English as they had just arrived from Thailand to attend school and that this was a second job. I told the person to be careful and that no one had the right to be asking them those questions at work. The young person seemed to understand, but honestly I am so worried about what may be going on. read more

Super brusque and mean, and way overpriced. Even basic services are like pulling teeth.

The party shoppe is the place I used to go for a lot of occasions to buy party supplies. I can say this is my last day buying anything from them. 1- the elderly lady had her mask off as I was near her 2- I spent a total of $67 for 3 balloons and a letter needless to say I was okay with it considering that is the price but one of my balloons came off the string and flew away. I went back in and the old lady in a nasty way told me she can't do anything about it that I had to buy another one. I stated that I spent $67 already was she really going to charge me for another balloon. She stated not her problem. And she charged me for another balloon. Amazing store, Very organized! There was a young man in a Real Madrid jersey who was very helpful, and he helped me find perfect party supplies for my sister's 18th birthday. Store also has plenty of toys, tableware, and all of the necessities required to throw a perfect party. They are also handling the COVID situation excellently: With positive attitudes and supportive service. 10/10 for me! read more

I visited today with my family and was curious why the woman working behind the register works in the service industry. She rolled her eyes, answered rudely, and couldn't be bothered looking up from her magazine. Once I was ready to make my purchase she continued reading her magazine and made me wait. If you run a store that sells toys, balloons, candy, and party supplies and you DONT like people or children then it's the not the right job! **while I appreciate the response from the owner, the staff clearly aimed to make me feel unwelcome and provide literally no customer service whatsoever. Nearly every review speaks of the same issues which speaks volumes. read more

One of the only places in the east end with party supplies. I understand the high prices since it's East Hampton but the attitude? I don't know if the lady behind the counter owns the place or simply hates people. My 9 month pregnant wife went there to buy balloons and other items for a baby shower. My wife who doesn't speak English well was basically belittled for asking about balloons with the confetti inside of them. The male employee there was great and he was the only reason I bought anything from this place. The attitudes and straight up disdain towards the non English speaking patrons here is disturbing. Avoid this place at all costs. The two ladies who work there go out of their way to be incredibly rude to customers. I felt unwelcome from the moment I walked in the door, and the women went out of their way to be nasty and unhelpful even as I spent a significant amount of money on their products. The lack of respect was truly shocking, and they clearly get by only because people come to this place when they have no other option. This was the least acommodating service I have ever received anywhere, especially the hamptons. After spending $300 on their products and having some of them malfunction, I was not offered any kind of reimbursement, discount, or even sympathy. They give small businesses a bad name, and have lost my patronage, as well as that of my friends and family, forever. read more

This is always the last place i go for any party supplies because they are so overpriced, but against my better judgement I went to get a few beautiful confetti balloons blown up for a bridal shower today. As soon as i entered the woman told me "absolutely not we don't do confetti it makes a mess and goes everywhere." She had a real attitude. I said that's a shame because these balloons are really popular now and they're gorgeous." She just told me no way again. I told her i was going down to the springs hardware store instead. She sarcastically told me to have a nice day and said something to her coworker as i walked out. Lesson of the day: go to springs hardware for any balloons. read more

We bought mylar balloons for my son's 5th birthday - the balloons were so poorly tied that the one blew away (the biggest of the balloons - the number 5, and it blew off the string itself) and it was not a windy day. The store refused to give my wife a replacement balloon without charging her. Despite the employee re-tying the remaining two balloons and exclaiming "they are tight - I tied them myself", upon arriving home one of the remaining balloons immediately became untied (thankfully, this balloon we were able to recover from our ceiling). Upon calling the store and complaining, I was first told to come back to the store (a 3 mile drive) so that the manager (the owner's sister) could check to see if my wife let go of the balloon or whether we still had the string to which it was tied. After stating we still had the string, she still stated they would not replace the balloon, and when I asked for the owner to call me, she stated she would not have her call me. POOR SERVICE!!! read more

She has a vision 30 years ago when East Hampton was known for its unique "specialty stores", to shoppers all over the world! Theo known to most of her customers started her business to fill a niche in the Hamptons. Her reputation a a local resident, amongst her close family members residing out in the Hamptons year round was very involved in doing what was best for the community all year round! Theo's love of East Hampton is deep rooted and continues to be her residence still today through all the changes she has witnessed over the years! Beyond overpriced, nasty attitudes from employees, un-organized, made an order for our get together, sent someone to pick the thing that we ordered, when we got to the party, we got happy 60th birthday for a graduation, completely embarrasing, went to confront store for reinbursement of ballons and such, they said nothing could be done, once again with a nasty attitude. Rather drive somewhere else and use another party shop, than have an experience here. read more

So over priced!!!! It's not even right. They don't even have a great selection. The only time I go there is when I'm in a jam otherwise I would rather travel a bit to not pay their ridiculous prices. Plus anywhere else the selection is better. The paper goods are so pricey that I wound up going to stop and shop and picking up white plates that were half the price! They don't have a good selection on decorative napkins. Just not impressive. read more
