A kind of new downtown Henderson casino. It was formerly the Eldorado before reopening. The Pass is what it's called and it looks nicer than it was. Bad thing is things are more expensive. You have higher minimum bets and bad odds. It looks like a pretty okay casino. Renovations have made it look much nicer. These renovations of course mean increased costs though. It used to have a Mexican restaurant with cheap food. They now have a sort of upscale Italian restaurant. A good thing is Emilia's Cafe is always open. You can get hangover food any time. Casino seems like mostly a place for locals. It has some stiff competition from nearby casinos like Emerald Island and Rainbow Club, which are cheaper and have better odds. This is nicer than what it was before, but they need to have more value.

We stopped by the Grand Opening of The Pass Casino in downtown Henderson! It was lovely & happiness was in the air! We were glad to see table games, lots of fun video slots & poker machines & restaurants. The layout is very nice & felt roomy with good air ventilation. I got the flyer in the mail & was very grateful to see all that they are offering to us Veterans! I will be there to support our local awesome growing downtown Henderson casinos

This building was a grocery store providing food to the hungry individuals of "company town." First off, what's "company town!" It was the Basic Magnesium Company that helped fuel the development during World War II. Now just the folds of history . We must remember the past to see the future. What's in a rainbow? Only all our dreams and aspirations. When you see the outside of this building it's truly amazing and inspiring. In fact the mural has deep roots and meaning to the community. This mural is meant to tell a different tale. The artist that painted this mural was Ozzy Villante. In fact this mural he quotes, "wisdom and knowledge are at the end of this rainbow, not a pot of gold." The mural in every bit of its core incorporates the city of Henderson going all the way back to the war effort to symbolize the great American culture of America and all its people and literacy. For if example you cannot understand you cannot ever comprehend. The power of art and color has brought this building to life. While you gamble and try to make your dreams come true inside the casino. Outside was what drew my attention. And the fact the word "rainbow," was in the title of course. While you can gamble and play all sorts of games inside. Come out and see the rainbow. In fact be the rainbow for someone!

There's a Holiday Inn right next door, a restaurant and gas station super close as well. When we walked in, I was a bit concerned at first with how strong the cigarette smoke was. You walk in to the casino after all. Check in was a breeze, but we didn't see any luggage carts so we managed on our own. Once we knew where our room was located, I moved my car in the lot. We did see luggage carts upon checkout so we used those then. Overall, the room was clean, cozy, and the cigarette smoke stayed down in the casino. Price was reasonable as well. I'd definitely stay here again!

Once inside, it was bad! One hour-later when we left, the stench of cigarette smoke was still on our clothing. That was the biggest negative for a non-smoking group of ten like our group. The casino is old but fun with a nice mix of colder and newer slot machines. The machines were DEFINITELY tight as only one person in our group won money and that was a whopping $37.00. The rest of us left the casino having had fun but now we all smelled like cigarettes and with less money in our pockets. The entire staff here were friendly and polite. Parking was avail and free in the casino's private parking lot. I don't know that I would ever visit this casino as this was perhaps my one and only visit to the area but also as a result of the strong cigarette smoke which is a challenge for a non smoker like myself

It's a beautiful…read moreproperty with gorgeous lake views, but there are definitely a few things I wish I had known before visiting--especially during the August off-season. Getting there: We had a surprisingly difficult time finding an Uber willing to drive us the 30-40 minutes from LAS around 9pm. We waited almost 40 minutes and had drivers cancel on us. We eventually learned that many drivers prefer to stay closer to the Strip, so keep that in mind if you're arriving later in the evening without a rental car. Check-in: Unfortunately, our first impression wasn't great. As Hilton Gold members, we're accustomed to a certain level of welcome at Hilton properties, but the woman who checked us in was quite short and rude with us. The resort is massive. We were able to get a room overlooking the lake, which was beautiful, but be prepared to walk! We counted 10 hallways from the elevator to our room--and that doesn't include the lower-level hallways from the lobby to the elevator. August is definitely off-season. Staffing appeared limited and some amenities opened later than normally advertised. For example, the pool bar normally opens at 11am but opened at noon during our stay. Breakfast was good and they offer a buffet if you like having plenty of options. Service was a little slow during our visit. The pool was one of the highlights. They had lifeguards on duty who were great, and we really enjoyed spending the day at the pool and interacting with them and the pool bar staff once the bar opened. The property itself has tons of beautiful photo opportunities. It feels elegant and classy, although some areas and the rooms are definitely dated. We were told they are currently renovating the guest rooms one floor at a time, starting with the higher floors, which I think will make a big difference. There is an outdoor sandy beach area, but unfortunately it wasn't open during our visit because of the algae/water conditions. You can easily walk to MonteLago Village, where there's a market/deli with most of the basics you may need along with several restaurants. This was especially convenient since we didn't have a car. If you prefer to stay onsite, there's also a lobby bar. We had great service there and really enjoyed chatting with the bartender and manager. Now for the biggest issue for us--the AC. It was really warm throughout the property, including the hallways, and our room never seemed to cool down enough. We didn't sleep particularly well because of the heat, and I'm someone who normally runs cold! In August, reliable AC is pretty important. There's also a beautiful walking path around the property. Early morning before the temperatures climb is the perfect time to enjoy it, and I loved the water views. We obviously expected Arizona/Nevada heat visiting in August, and overall we still enjoyed our long weekend. The setting really is beautiful and it feels like you're much farther away from Las Vegas than you actually are. I'd like to come back when the weather is cooler and the renovated rooms are completed. With more consistent AC and the property fully operating outside of the summer off-season, I think our experience could be very different.
