It's a bit underwhelming, which is totally fine! I was expecting a whole restaurant but honestly it's just a sandwich shop and bakery. I think if you work in the area it's a great spot to get your lunch. I got the Caesar wrap and I thought it was pretty good! I liked that my lettuce wasn't warm and it had a good amount of Caesar. This little restaurant has been around for a very long time and is a local favorite. AMBIANCE: cute, small town feel. There were a lot of Halloween decorations/signs up to make it feel like fall. A lot of workers in the back getting ready. FOOD: there are a lot of cold food options but hardly any that are vegetarian. Pricing is anywhere between $7-12. The chicken Waldorf sandwich was very good. The avocado tomato very basic ($8 is not worth it). SERVICE: it was okay. I was a little shocked to see workers using their bare hands to prepare pastries/workers preparing food without hair nets. The restrooms were missing paper/items even at 10am in the morning. When little attention to detail is missing, I think it can be a little concerning. Overall, this was a pleasant little shop but I do not think I will go out of my way to come here. read more

I can't believe I've just recently heard about The Patio Cafe & Bakery! I stopped by for a late lunch on a Saturday. The cafe was busy, but there wasn't a line to order. I walked up to the counter and was greeted right away. I ordered the following: Tuna salad (sandwich) $7.95 Toffee crunch cake (slice) $4.50 Cookie $1.15 Wow. I mean, WOW. You cannot beat these prices! The tuna salad came with a side of chips and a mini muffin(?). The sandwich was tasty and comes with albacore tuna, pickles, egg, celery and mayo with lettuce. It wasn't huge, but a decent lunch portion. The cake slice however, was massive! The toffee crunch cake is a yellow cake with white chocolate icing, topped with homemade toffee and caramel. TO DIE FOR! It was incredible. I almost drove 30 minutes out of the way yesterday just for a slice of this cake but talked myself out of it. Now I regret not getting it! It's all I can think about. I believe I got a chocolate meringue cookie, but not 100% sure about the name. It was just okay. Great consistency and crunch though. The cake definitely overshadowed it. The Patio is absolutely my wife's favorite bakery & lunch spot in Johns Creek and it has turned into one of my favorites as well. Actually, it would be my #1 if it was closer to our house. They usually always have a nice selection of delicious cookies decorated for the holiday, season, etc, as well as traditional cookies of different flavors. The other baked desserts are also very tasty.. For lunch, my favorite sandwich is the grilled pimento & bacon sandwich. SO good. The prices are right and you can dine in as well or on the patio. Incredible bakery selection and our go to place in the area for tiny sweets and sandwiches for lunch. My wife ordered some Valentine's sweets for her coworkers and we ordered sandwiches for lunch. I had the pastrami Rueben on marbled rye and really loved it!! I also got a cinnamon roll which tasted great, but was slightly under baked and doughy. Still had a lot of cinnamon flavor, and I'd get it again. Great lunch spot, with a large selection of hot and cold sandwiches and deli fare. I was pleasantly surprised by the bakery prices, which were very reasonable. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich, which came with chips and a mini muffin. I'm not an icing fan but I'd recommend these. Petit four - soft soft textured cake. Very delicate. But definitely different from ones you find in a French bakery. It's like petit four, the American version. They are like tiny soft finger cakes! Coke cake - this was the least of my favs. Coke cake, name sounds SO interesting I just had to but you can't taste the coke. It's a chocolate cake, without that much chocolate flavor. It's like a diet chocolate cake or sugar free chocolate cake (I'm sure it's not). Like something is missing, nah mean? Wouldn't get it again. Overall, so many options and they were all very tasty! 4/19/21 I have eaten there about three times in the last month, with all three visits being exceptional. I would strongly suggest that people get there before 1130 if you don't like to wait in line. Although the line moves fast, it is avoidable. There is ample outside seating and the inside seating is socially distant. The food is always fantastic and I usually get a sandwich with soup, which turns out to be less than $10, if you don't get the chips. If you can afford the extra calories, they do have the best desserts and the coconut cake is to die for! read more

I told them I would leave the design to their creativity so long as it looked pharmacy related and said pharmacy appreciation week. It looked like a pop tart. It came out to about $81. I was really disappointed. Giving one star for the nice lady on the phone. Another star for timeliness. Maybe there was communication error but I was expecting something more. Or at least the words in those edible sugar prints. The white frosting tasted good but the cookie was kind of too hard and blue frosting was bitter. I need to give this place 5 stars. It deserves no less! I've never had anything I didn't like on the menu. Pecan pie, lemon bar, Rice Krispie, chocolate merengue cookie... they were all GREAT. The service is awesome too. The cashiers are super friendly and always smiling! My cashier went out of her way for me. I ordered a Rice Krispie and a chocolate cookie, but she heard Rice Krispie and cupcake because it was so loud (in a good way- it gets busy around lunch time but the wait time is never long!). Anyways, I already swiped my card when I realized I was billed for a cupcake, and my receipt was $1 higher than it should have been. I corrected my order, and she (still smiling!) said that she'd void the last transaction and only charge me for the Rice Krispie. I don't usually do this - giving verdict on first paragraph of the review. But consider this as TLDR version. Patio Cafe is one of the best week-day lunch experience I have had in recent years for such an affordable price! When I say experience, I meant in relation with price range, service and food! The Patio Cafe & Bakery opened it's doors not too long ago at the same complex as Sichuan House, Panera and Home depot. I know it's a big complex but to locate it - it's closer to the Sichuan house. If you are coming from pleasant hill rd and medlock bridge intersection, then take right on first light after crossing the intersection. You will see it right away, straight ahead. Since their opening it has been steadily gaining popularity among locals, which can be witnessed by showing up at lunch time. You will see long line of people waiting to order food, either for pick up or to dine there. Don't get discouraged by long lines here - go ahead and join the line, you won't be disappointed. They have very simple no nonsense decor inside. It's fairly large inside, with number of tables and chairs and I think it can easily seat some 50 patrons at a time. So you go in, join the line, put in your order, pay for it and get your number. Then find a table and wait - food will come looking for you! I am very IMPRESSED by their SERVICE - I mean, they always have long lines during peak lunch time but never once I have seen a grumpy face or rushed service from employees who takes orders. They are extremely patient and treated me like they are more than happy to accommodate my diet needs. That's amazing to pull off with such long lines and also such affordable price point. That brings us to the MENU - they don't have printed out menu as far as I know but you absolutely cannot miss the black board full of menu items just above the counter. If you are new, there are so much to look at and make up your mind - I find the long lines help to give you that time. They have wraps, salads, egg/chicken/tuna salad sandwiches, deli meat sandwiches, hot sandwiches, soups and combos!! And they always have some Quiche as well. I have summarized their menu in two lines but don't mistake - they have extensive list of items on each category! And not to mention their baked goods - cupcakes, cookies, scones, meringues - you name it they have it! And for PORTION SIZE, lets just say that whatever you order you won't leave hungry. For example, I ordered their 'The Favorite' from the combo section for $7.95. Let me list what I got with that. A cup of soup(I asked for chicken noodle) with roll, three finger sandwich(Pimento cheese, chicken salad, cucumber cream cheese), a fruit cup, one mini-muffin with pink sauce. (All plates comes with complimentary mini-muffin) All this for just $7.95!!!! In fact, the expensive item in their menu is $8.95! The soup was comforting and tasty! And as for those finger sandwiches, they were good enough but not nothing to write home about. But the point here price-taste ratio is excellent! I have also tried their pastrami with sauerkraut on rye - it was again a solid and I really liked the pungency of Sauerkraut(if you are into it). VEGETARIAN? VEGAN? Yeah, they got you covered. Food allergies? Let them know, they have some for you as well. They also have BAKED GOODS that you can order with lunch(or light dinner) - it ranges from $.75 to $ 1.95 - again everything super affordable and some of the items are surprisingly good. It's not going to give some top-notch bakeries run for their money, but they are blurring the lines close with their price point. Everything is baked and made in-house for most part, I was told. They are also open until 8 pm on weekdays - so that you can take care your health and eat light for dinner as well on weekdays. They are closed on Sundays and open only until 4 pm on saturdays. At the end of the day I am happy for a local restaurant that gets service, price and food right. To me, it's not always just about food taste - it's the experience that's important and at what price point. Considering all this, 5 well deserved stars. read more

I thought i'd already reviewed this place, but I hadn't --- very overdue. Probably my favorite bakery in Gwinnett. Always come here to get cookie/goodie platters for office parties and occasionally for an after-work bakery snack. They have the best cakes!! And their petits-fours are the best I've had ever. I normally only buy baked goods here, but they also have a huge lunch menu. I have tried their chicken salad (packed to go, by the pound) and it was delicious. Have visited multiple times since moving to the area a few months ago and it has quickly become our favorite lunch spot. There are so many things to choose from and I love the option to try different things with the pick 2 and pick 3 plates. Just tossed a $33 birthday cake in the trash. Basically, 4 people took a total of 6 bites, (testing both cake & icing). The unanimous consensus was, "This cake is horrible!" The density of the cake was like dead-weight. The icing was flavored sugar. Thankfully, the rest of my wife's 60th birthday eve was outstanding. Things don't always go according to plan....
