My wife and I went to The Patio Cafe for lunch today. First, it was a beautiful day, so we sat outside. Service was prompt, as usual and then, I saw it on the menu, a Monte Cristo sandwich! I was told the Monte Cristo at The Patio Cafe isn't deep fried like Monte Cristos usually are, but made with French Toast. I ordered it and let me tell you, hands down the absolute BEST Monte Cristo I have had in my life! The Patio Cafe's take on this sandwich should be considered legendary. Great little coffee shop. Friendly staff who are knowledgeable on their wares. Expect good descriptions of the coffee if the day. Breakfast is alway on point regardless of which one you order. We were excited about going here, but the staff was rude and our order was wrong. We waited for forty minutes for our food, which was understandable because it was busy, but our drinks weren't refilled and when the waitress brought us our food, she put down the ticket and didn't say a word or come back and check on us. Our order was wrong and we didn't want to wait longer so we ate our food and when we went to pay they refused to change the price, even though we didn't receive what we requested (bell peppers on crepe, chocolate chips on pancake, charged for an adult meal when our 10 year old ordered a kids breakfast). I was really disappointed because it was my birthday, and the way we were treated wasn't good. I have been a waitress before, and so can tell the difference between a business being busy and someone treating us poorly and this was definitely the latter. read more

Totally unimpressive. And way to expensive for the food provided. I had a 2 egg omelette with cheese and bacon which came with a very small serving of grits. It didn't come with bread, not even toast! Cost just shy of $10.00. And I had water to drink. There was less than one piece of bacon in the omelette and about a quarter cup of cheddar cheese. Service was extremely slow. We sat down at 10:25. The cafe wasn't busy at all. Finally got our food at 11:05. The table next to us sat down after us yet received their burgers before we got our breakfast! I'm very disappointed and won't be back. read more

Super packed. Super long wait. Not super food. I had two crepes for $6.99 which I thought was a really good price! One morning, I was very hungry, but not many places were open yet. I googled to see if there were any places open in Conway and this one popped up. I had never heard of it before, but I decided to go there and try it out. I was not disappointed! Their spicy eggs benedict is amazing! The hashbrowns served with it are really good. I found ordering a side of spicy eggs benedict sauce and pouring it over the hash browns is yummy! I also enjoyed the biscuits and gravy, though I didn't realize just how big it would be, so I had a hard time finishing everything in spite of how tasty it was. I had to take my husband back the next day. He loves eggs benedict, but feels as though most places don't do it right. He ordered the regular eggs benedict and said it's the best he's had anywhere in Arkansas! Safe to say, we found a regular breakfast place :) Service is sometimes a bit slow depending on how busy they are when you come, but the servers have always been friendly. I would say don't come if you're in a hurry. If you're willing to wait a little, though, the food is definitely worth it! read more

We have been here a few times over the last 4 years that my son has attended Hendrix and never had any problem. We went today and will never go back. We were told 25-30 minute wait for a table of 5 (reasonable for a table of 5 on a mid sunday morning.) We sat down and ordered our food WITH our drink order because we needed to hit the road. An hour later...still no food. We asked our waitress and she said it should be right up. 10 minutes later she told us 15 more minutes. She did offer us free pastries, which we declined, and no mention of how much longer. 20 minutes I went inside to check and I was handed my son's grilled cheese at the register...sat back down and it still took 10 minutes to get our other plates. The rest of us had breakfast...we all cook breakfast at home and know that it is literally the fastest meal to make. We had to approach them again to get 1 meal taken off our tickets and were told that we got our food 37 min after we ordered. We told them no...that was 37 min after the waitress remembered to put our ticket in...she happened to walk by and fessed up and said that yes, we had been waiting over an hour. Communication is key. We all understand that all areas of employment are short staffed...just tell us ahead of time so we can decide if we are waiting or going elsewhere. read more

My husband and I came to eat for Mother's Day brunch. I ordered spicy eggs bennie and he ordered chicken strips with house fries. We arrived at 1:30pm with the restart closing at 2:00. We ordered at 1:32 and did not get our food until 2:17 pm. When a plate of cheap frozen chicken strips and frozen French fries (exactly like you would get at a high school football concession stand) was placed in front of my husband he kindly asked if he could order a club sandwich instead. Obviously being from a restaurant that advertises fresh food and "house fries" he was expecting homemade chicken strips and fries. The waitress told him sure and after saying he would pay for the sandwich and chicken strips she told him no that he wouldn't need to worry about the chicken strips. Within a minute another lady (presumably the owner's wife) came out and with a snippy attitude asked "so, what's the problem? You don't like the chicken strips", my husband again explain he just was not expecting frozen chicken strips and frozen fries for $12. She then said "well our kitchen closed at 2:00, we can make a club sandwich but you will have to pay for it"... after this our waitress never even came back to our table. While paying for our food my husband talked to the owner and he explained the situation, the owner told him "well I guess people like it because we do pretty well" in response. Terrible customer service, ridiculously long wait times, cheap food, and high prices. We will definitely not be back. read more

Wow, we can't think of the right words to describe what we just ate! If We had absolutely amazing service and the food was the best breakfast ever. I had the biscuits and gravy with a side of thick-cut bacon that was melt in your mouth good. The hash browns were cooked as we asked, extra crispy. My breakfast buddy had the Classic Egg breakfast. Everything was prepared faster than we expected since we were here at "prime-time." The homemade "house" bread was out of this world. Soft and sweet and you wish you could have more. I also had the iced chai tea and it is my favorite ever. We highly recommend this cute place and we will be back! read more

Stopped here during a road trip. Some of the best food and coffee I've had since leaving Oregon. Friendly service, food came out pretty quickly. I had the two egg breakfast with sausage and grits. Totally awesome! As I was paying I chatted with the owner, really sweet lady. They make all their own breads( used for the French toast), and pastries. I didn't get any this time, but when headed back through will definitely get some. Did I mention how good the coffee was? I highly recommend stopping here, and getting something to eat. read more

By far the worst service I have received in Conway. When we first arrived we were told there was no ice, and after an hour after ordering we were told that our food was only "45%" done and ended up leaving before our food was out. This place draws you in with its offbeat look and what has the potential to be kitschy charm. Once inside, though, you are greeted with unpleasantness. It's almost as if the employees would rather you not be there. If you're not a regular, you receive a grimace instead of a smile. We ordered simple items (eggs, toast, hash browns) and were there for over an hour just to receive cold food. Our waitress did not check on us. An item was missing from the order and we were supposed to receive it, but it took so long we left instead. It probably would have been cold anyway. Do not order specialty coffee, not worth it. Probably just use coffee mate creamer. Prices are a bit high for what you get. Their only saving grace is the appreciation for local art. read more

My cousins and I went on a Saturday for a fun brunch because we heard that this was a kid friendly place and we had a 2 yr old with us. Well it took over an hr to get our food, because our waitress didn't turn in our order for 30 mins( after my cousin asked about it) the table of ladies that sat down when we ordered our food were almost done with their food when we finally got ours. If they food had been fabulous i may have been more up for forgiving the service, but it was just ok. Our waitress came to our table 3 times the whole time we were there. Our drinks were filled by runners not our waitress. There was no apology or even admittance of guilt by anyone. Our waitress never even acknowledged that anything was wrong. When we got our food she came over with a smile and asked how it was?! When i went to pay i asked if it was normal to wait an hr for food and she said there was a new person in the kitchen so i told her that the table behind us got their food and they were sitting down when we ordered ours she said it must have been our waitress and went on with her life. Normally i am not this upset by bad service, but I gave them a chance and contacted them privately and that read it (thank you Facebook) quickly but never replied. I gave them 2 days. read more
