Well today my grandkids and I decided to give this place a shot. I had previously received some brine fried chicken from this restaurant and it was so good so we drove to Conway today to give it a try and I wish now that we had stayed at home. When we got there there was only a two tables occupied and we a family of three were escorted to the back of the restaurant and I told the host that this was unacceptable because no one else was sitting in the back and being black family we were not doing this. After being seated up by the other tables we sat for over 6 minutes before the host came back and got our drinks ordered and then we went another 15 minutes with no one coming to see about us all the wait staff was standing at the host desk and finally my granddaughter went up and asked if someone was going to wait on us and then a waiter and manager came over to ask us about what we wanted. The food was not what I was expecting the gumbo that was ordered was good and the steak frites was tasty and I had the brine fried chicken and gumbo collard greens and Mac and cheese and the chicken was not good at all it was hot out the grease but no flavor. This is my first trip to Roost & Tap and it made for an excellent experience. We started off with the fiesta Tostadas and apple butter biscuits then for the main we had fried chicken with hot honey carrots red beans and rice and the Bird and Batter. All was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The restaurant was clean and staff very helpful and very active seeing to our needs. Can't wait for our next trip!! read more

Cute little place! We are travelling across country and found this on yelp. It has ample parking around the block for our truck and trailer. I had read the apple butter biscuits were a winner and they did not disappoint! My son got the wings and he said they were decent. I had the chopped salad and it was good as well. My husband got the 1/2 rotisserie chicken and said it was wonderful. Our server was very nice and the service was good. We were in and out of there in under an hour. read more

I want to love this place because hubby really likes it. We have been twice. The first time we ordered the spinach dip for an appy and salads for our main dish. He enjoyed his. I ordered a Caesar salad - my favorite - but was super disappointed to find that there was iceberg lettuce in my Caesar! Very little and small pieces of romaine :( I ordered steak as my protein and it was chewy. However the flavor of the dressing was very good and the croutons were good also. The second time we went I ordered the chicken tenders. Slightly undercooked chicken and chewy :( wah. But the bbq bourbon dipping sauce was amazing. Hubby ordered a burger that was super tasty. The food at the Rooster and Tap Kitchen was perfection on a plate. I've never eaten fried chicken that was seasoned , juicy and crispy at the same time. This delectable delight actually better my southern great grandmother's recipe. The Three Cheese Mac and Cheese was creamy and melty so much that I wanted a second helping. Next time I will definitely get a double batch of this. Even my granny would've been impressed with this side dish. The glazed carrots were very good but I would've liked a little cinnamon to bring out the flavor pallet a little more. . The service was on point once our party got seated . They make a mean Mojito, love it so much I had two...Everyone seemed to enjoy the environment and the seating. Very family dining atmosphere with an upscale vibe. I will return for sure. read more

Saw this place on the "eat it up"segment on the news. Figured I would give it a try. But when you have celiac it's always a little scary trying something new. This place was amazing. Many naturally gluten free options on the menu. I tried the rotisserie chicken, the short ribs, the chicken truffle parm tots, and the artichoke spinach dip. Of course didn't eat it all. But here is a bragging point. I asked if I could get fries instead of the bread. I fully expected them to charge a side order of fries. They only charged me .99 for the fries. Everything was incredibly good. We had a couple drinks at the bar. The Paloma was above average. The strawberry patch was sweet but the Malibu really hits a homer with the mint. But I highly recommend getting the "her old fashioned" with tequila vs rye. Seriously dangerously good. If I could give them 10 stars I would. read more

I like the seating and how large the space is, I like how it's open on Sunday too. Not many places are open in Conway on Sundays so it's nice to be able to switch it up. read more

Hendrix Village is such a cool place visually that we are excited that quality eating establishments are coming back to the two locations that were vacant for so long. Roost and Tap. Food was good for the price. The aesthetics of the restaurant were very nice. But. Our waitress seemed annoyed to be having to take our order. Leaning against the booth while taking the drink order and then was overheard asking the person seating if she was the only one waiting in that section. Very unprofessional. Then at the end of our service, she rushed us through the payment process after just dropping off to-go containers. The staff is outstanding. Even though it was their first week open, everything went surprisingly well. Quick and polite would be the two words I'd choose to describe the service. Now to the food. I had waffles and chicken. Righteous. The rest of our party of 6 chose different entrees. Not one negative comment could be heard. Everything from a fried pork chop to the salmon dinner. Party of 2 had to wait 15 minutes with several tables open. Plenty of staff were present. 4 people cleaned the same 2 tables. Got seated then had to move tables. The actual server was pleasant and attentive. App never came before main dish. Servers at first offered to take it off but still box it up to go then kitchen manager declined that. Greens were cold.
