We've been here before and we'll be back. Out all day, so we called in an order for pickup. A half chicken barbeque with coleslaw for my wife and chicken kabobs with rice pilaf for me. And we'll share an order of fried mushrooms. As I pulled into their parking lot, I saw they were busy and after walking inside I saw that they were hopping. I knew that I was three minutes early so I patiently waited as two other customers got their draft beer. Asked my name as usual and rang me up. Over the BBQ Brisket sandwich was average, a bit dry for my taste. Love the onion ring on the top, the bread was nice and soft. The French fries were nice and warm, and it had a bit of salt in them not to over powering. The service was quick and fast. Next time I will try something new. read more

Tried to place order online, it gets all the way through to the end, and then says this location isn't taking online orders. So I call it in. Polite and helpful, and got the order right. I drove there to pick up the order, went inside to pay and get it. There were 4 employees (wait staff, registers and kitchen) wearing their masks properly. There were 4 not wearing a mask at all. All the rest were wearing a mask pulled down below the nose, occasionally down to their chin. Preparing food during a pandemic. My wife's meal was fine, but mine (BBQ beef brisket sandwich) was almost inedible. About a third of the meat was just solid fat, and most of the rest was tough and chewy. My wife and I have been dining regularly at The Patio for over 20 years and have always loved the ribs. I can't remember having a bad meal there. Recently I had one of their hamburgers which was badly over cooked. I also was not a fan of the loaded Mac n cheese. I didn't have time to take it back to the counter but wrote to the management expressing my disappointment with my meal. They offered me a gift card for the inconvenience. Solid American style, family focused restaurant. They've got a wide menu and I got dry rub ribs, BBQ chicken, Cole slaw, garlic mashed potatoes, and french bread combo. For the type of restaurant this is, everything was very acceptable. I was very very impressed that the white meat chicken was not dry. I had high expectations for this place. They had a picture of the bacon guacamole burger that caught my eye and went ahead and ordered it. What I received was a very very thin patty piled with lettuce a generous amount of guacamole and cilantro. Never have I ever had cilantro in any of my burgers in my lifetime. It added a different flavor to the burger. The cilantro didn't taste bad, just different. Overall I was not impressed with this place. You can't go wrong here, just look at that beef and sausage combo, or the hot dog, or the fries, or chicken sandwich. I've had them all and The Patio has never let me down. Drive thru, or eat in either way, I'm down for The Patio. The Patio's own barbeque sauce is for sale by the bottle and as far as I'm concerned it's a must. Two bottles of this sauce you must have in your refrigerator because one bottle just isn't enough. A variety of not your typical fast food is what The Patio is. This is really good food quickly, it's all good and I'm never hesitant to try something that I've had before, again or something new. I have to take a moment and talk about the soup, try the soup. I've had most items on the menu but the one that stands out the most is the ribs, half slab or full slab, bread, cole slaw and your choice of potato, is a favorite of mine. I don't know how it's done and I don't care to know. I've had my share of ribs before different styles, different sauces but these ribs are the most tender I've ever had, sorry dad you are the grill master but these ribs are the best, and maybe that's why we came here often, and I still do and always will. We just love so many things from here - the ribs are tangy and fall off the bone, the cream of chicken rice soup is epic and the burgers are to die for. We have never had a bad meal in 25 years and we have always had wonderful food and friendly service. That said this isn't "fast" fast food. Well been to The Patio a few times and it's actually very good casual American dining that is not so expensive. I say this because if you would have eaten at Buffalo Wild Wings you would have to pay for tip or gratuity. I also had the option to order or go to Portillo's not too far but it seems like the portions are not satisfying if you're really hungry for lunch beyond Italian Beef Sandwich. It was between meatloaf or beer battered cod which I never had either before here.I decided go for the Beer Battered Cod since I asked the cashier and she said that it was decent portions which it really was it was It tasted very good I have compared this to two other places nearby in Willowbrook and they have the crunchiest a beer battered cod. Again, very good if I have to compare between Culver's cod dinner which in my opinion is almost a tie taste wise but with a different distinct texture. Culver's cod which I usually I love is not as crunchy but it's still good and fresh. I had tried Meatheads hamburger place in which they also serve fish but they're using Alaskan Pollock which was a bit soggy. Their desserts are decently a great and a lot of customers kept looking at my chocolate cake since I had it delivered all in one shot versus having my desert separate. Chocolate cake is great however their chocolate frosting or icing was a bit stiff texture wise versus soft and moist at Portillo's to order chocolate cake slice. On top of that, you don't have to pay for tip which is a bummer when you go out to eat. This place has been here for a while when I worked in Willowbrook. Next to the portions, it is a place to go to if you think that it's going to be expensive but it's really not under $20 depending on if you ordered up. I had enough money for the dessert. Fries are like steak fries which is actually pretty good. The Patio missed including 2 french fries into the order on the night of 10/26/2020 which I placed online for the family spending almost $70. While that's bad, what's worse is how they handled it. The guy who answered said that he will remove the fries from the bill and was quick to hang up. Never apologized. I asked if there was anything they can do to make it up to the 2 kids who were going to watch the Bears game without fries and he got me the lady manager. She said they have someone new in training and that she would give me 10% off but NEVER APOLOGIZED. My expectations were to hear an apology and perhaps give the kids a coupon for a free ice cream on their next visit. Instead the Manager was cold and uncaring. Literally. That was a very bad experience. I informed her that if that's how they treat their customers now that she could inform her leadership that they lost a customer who's been going there for over 8 years. She said ok. As for the food, it was good, as expected and as it usually is / was. We ordered a full slab of ribs, 2 pulled pork sandwiches, a Cheeseburger and a 32oz cup of Chicken and Rice soup. I grew up in Willowbrook and remember my parents going to The Patio for years. I moved back to the area a few years ago to be closer to my elder dad. About 6 months ago, dad and I "rediscovered" The Patio. Specifically, the Pulled Pork sandwiches. We LOVE them! Honestly, you can make 2 meals out of one sandwich. My wife and I both dined at this location tonight as we have been happy customers for the past 20 years at this Patio location as well as the one in Orland Park. In all the years we've been dining at either one we have never had a bad experience until this evening. It was busy as usual on a Saturday late afternoon as we waited only ten minutes for our orders to come to our table. Both of our orders were completely wrong as they switched tickets on our order with some one else's. The second time they came with our order my wife's was completely wrong again and part of mine was wrong as well. They corrected mine on the third try but again my wife's was completely wrong. The kitchen manager came to verify my wife's order even though she had our order ticket in her possession. I asked to speak to the manager who came again with our order ticket in hand to verify my wife's order. On their fourth try they got my wife's order right.....finally as I was more than half finished with my meal. I asked the Manager to give me something for our inconvenience, etc.....he offered me a free dessert I told him I wanted something more than a dessert he then offered me a 15% coupon which I get regularly in the Clipper Coupon magazine. I asked for a free future meal and was told he can't do that since everything is computerized? Don't know what that's suppose to mean but I was very disappointed. We have been getting food from Patio for a very long time. Last week, however, my husband and I both got sick after eating there. Our food was from the drive thru and the food we ate, in common, were the fried mushrooms. The next day, I called and reported the incident. They said there was nothing they could do unless someone else called and reported a similar case. So much or being sympathetic! My husband I both got sick within minutes of each-other, after eating. We have ordered these before and I mentioned to the pain, on the phone, that they didn't look the same as usual. We each ate 2 and threw the $8 order away.
