My first clue should have been the serpentine line to place your order like they have at Portillo's or Wendy's. I thought there was going to be table service. I guess if you count the guy running through the restaurant with your basket of food looking for a number I was supposed to have stuck in my stand- it's table service. Shoot me- I prefer sitting and reading a menu. When the food came (and it came all at different times for our group as there were 7 of us) the food runners just stood and shouted what was in the basket or bowl. Appetizers showed up at the same time as entrees- it was all a big mess. The food itself was okay although no one had their signature dish of ribs. We're ordered burgers, sandwiches and salads, but most things were just alright. There were stale noodles and croutons for the salads (not encouraging) and the fries were undercooked- and my patty melt would have benefited from grilled onions versus fresh, but the steak sandwich, bacon burger and hot dog got OK marks. In my book- if you want BBQ ribs- I'd go somewhere else. If you are looking for an alternate burger place- this could fit the bill. Just keep your expectations at a realistic level. Bah! I didn't like anything about this place. It was crowded when we went, which was not conducive to the wend-your-way-order-at-the-counter setup; then finding a table was another cause for anxiety amid the forest of people. The ribs I got were fatty; isn't that their specialty?! You'd think they'd at least get them right. Between the crazy setting and the bad food, I won't be going back. It's become a joke in our family; whenever we drive by someone says, "Oh, there's your favorite restaurant!" Not hardly. This place looks suh-weet from the outside, and seeing as I am part made of BBQ, we HAD to try this place since we pass it daily. I was a little surprised by the place, and pleasantly surprised by the food. They have eat-in or carry out drive-thru. We went in. It's similar to Portillo's in that there is not really wait service. You order at a big counter, and they announce the order to the kitchen via microphone. Ribs, chicken, sandwiches, come in combos with potatoes of your choice. But do NOT ask to substitute onion rings. We asked 2 different people there, and they told us no way no how could we substitute onion rings for a potato, even if they just added $3 or $4 to the price of the combo. Just plain out couldn't be done. Weird. Anyhow, we got the food. Very good. Even their dry rub ribs were very tasty. They come with a roll and butter and a little cup of coleslaw as well. All tasty. If you should decide to eat in and not carry out like us, teh dining room looks very big. But it's quite cafeteria style. Again, similar to a Portillo's. Lots of little tables and booths. Kind of loud, but very family friendly. Even some TVs up on the wall in case you have to be out during game time. Hi, regular customer of this location for 6 years or so. Food is pricey, but great! I also love the beautiful decor on the inside. However, this location doesn't handle busy times well. In the past almost two years ordering to-go because of the pandemic, I've only had one online order successfully go through - most of the time when I click to pay a message pops up saying the restaurant is too busy to accept the order (why have the app if it never works). I usually phone the order in when this happens and have no issues. But tonight's experience was less than stellar. I spent 10 minutes trying to order on the phone from an individual either not trained to take orders and/or not trained on the restaurant's computer system. This is not an exaggeration, the phone call really lasted 10 minutes; the employee paused multiple times in between items, repeated the order back incorrectly, etc... I had low expectations the order would be correct, but when I arrived at the restaurant the order was completely lost. I had already waited 20 minutes, and could not wait another 20 more so took my business elsewhere. The food is good, but I'd only recommend going outside of lunch/dinner rushes. Suggestion: inform customers ahead of time on the app if not currently accepting online orders so the customer doesn't waste time ordering and going through the checkout process OR accept the order but inform customer it will take longer (an online order mitigates human error (like an employee losing an entire order) so steps should be taken where the online service is running 99.9999% of the time) Suggestion: have only phone/computer trained employees answer the phones Request: Please bring back the guacamole burger! read more

We've (me & the wife) have been to this location the most in the past 5 years, not that there's anything wrong with the others. We know the Lombard restaurant is great, been there quite a few times for lunch and dinner. When I worked in Bolingbrook I when to the Patio on Weber Ave but, this Darian one is right by our house & easier to get to when we're hungry. I think we've covered the entire menu... my best & favorite is the Steak sandwich with the grilled onions (note to the kitchen - toast the roll) & a side of crispy golden onion rings!!! My second fav is the pattymelt with BACON oh god so yummy. My wifes' favorite & #3 on my list are the "Fish Tacos" it's just a GREAT PLATE I mean it. So tasty so fresh & grilled perfectly! Reliably good food at this Patio location. Food delivery can sometimes be a bit disorganized and/or spaced improperly. Prices end up being more expensive now that everything is a la carte. Portions on certain items have gotten smaller. Manager seems to keep a close eye on most aspects of service. We've eaten here quite a few times over the last year since we moved to the area. We have had a few good experiences, but the sub-optimal meal is more often the case in what to expect. For example, the first time I had ribs here they were so tender and delicious. The meat was falling off the bone, and they were full of flavor. Every time since then I've ordered ribs at The Patio they have not been cooked long enough, were tough, and lacked flavor. Not a lot of "healthy" choices to eat here, which is kind of a bummer... but has become something I've just come to know with Chicagoland food establishments as Midwesterners typically favor hearty meals that are a little more on the filling end. Where they could potentially do better is in the salads and gluten-free options. Offer salads that have less junk, and more flavorful and fresh ingredients (without a ton of mango or unhealthy toppings on them and decent dressings). They could also be a bit more transparent on their allergens on the menu but at least marking what is gluten-free for those who need to know. They also seem to have trouble with their online ordering sometimes. I've had two occasions where I ordered and paid online, only to have my husband show up and the person at the counter say there wasn't an order. Then he has to show them the online receipt, wait for them to make the food, and typically they just give him a free soda for his troubles. Not really an acceptable way to say sorry for losing large pre-paid orders if you ask me. The only saving grace about this place is that they have pretty large sized kids meals, which are great for older kids that aren't quite ready to order off the regular menu. I went in a last night to bring dinner home. Ordered 2 brisket sandwiches, which was, NOT exaggerating, 60% fat and gristle! I realize there usually some fat, but this was ridiculous! Then I got a half slab of ribs, that had to be sitting in the back for 3 hours! Mealy, tough ribs that you couldn't pull off the bones! My wife wanted the zucchini, and it also seemed like it had been sitting there for several hours! It has been a while since I had been there.....but this was totally atrocious! It was kind of disappointing even though I've been here before and ordered the same thing a couple times already. It was meh. Compared to the one in Lombard this place is old and outdated. The tables and seats looked like they were predating 95 as this is the first patio I've come to with my dad back in 99... The 11$ meal was meh. The baked potato was the best part followed with the pretzel bun of the 'BBQ' burger. For being a bbq burger it had very sparing sauce, I had to add extra, and it was over done. I didn't finish a few pieces of it. Minimal cheese on the burger and for a third of a pound it looked pretty close to a culvers flattened burger... When I was asked by an employee of something was wrong and told her, she merely had a unsettled look on her face. Oh well. I stand behind the patio of Lombard though all the way. read more

Very Good! Guacomole burger is good but the guacomole is somewhat bland. The other stuff makes up for it though. Came on a very busy night. 6 or 7 cars in the drive thru. Had a very complicated order for over 10 people. They got everything right. That is impressive! The food is good and service is also good. Chicken Oreganato is very good. If you order all dark meat or a different request, very rarely it is incorrect. Employees are nice and restaurant is clean. Nice tables and dining area. One thing if you are in the Chicago land area, I recommend going to Patio on Rt 83 instead of in Bolingbrook on Weber Rd. When I went to the Patio on Weber Rd and Ordered the chicken kabobs, the vegetables were so burned I could barely eat them! I'm sticking with the Patio on Rt 83 since it is not far but much better. read more

We occasionally order from the patio for dinner. They have a large menu so everyone will be able to find something they like, plus they have a drive thru for easy pick up. Downside is that it takes forever to get your order. They always tell us about 20 minutes but it ends up being more like 45. Anyways, some of the things I really enjoy from this place are their Ribs and pulled pork sandwich. Erring on the side of giving them 4 stars instead of 3, they're probably somewhere in between. Their food is good but you won't be screaming it from the mountain tops. They have an extensive menu which should literally be able to please anyone. If you can't find something to order here, you probably are too picky to leave your house for food anyway. Ordered the brisket burger with fries and it was pretty good. Also had some of the mushrooms and zucchini which were also good. Everything Ive gotten on the menu has been solid for years! When I was younger, I used to get their spaghetti with meat sauce...yes, spaghetti at a BBQ place. And it was delicious! Then in my high school and college days, I would only order their 1/4 chicken (ask for the white meat). It comes with a breast and wing, coleslaw, bread, & potato if your choice (I always get the fries) all for about $7!!! That's a deal & it's always juicy and tender! Recently I've discovered their Greek pita and sweet potato waffle fries. Wow. Just wow. A new favorite pairing of menu items. The pita is huge and is made with an open pita the size of your plate topped with strips of their signature chicken, lettuce, cucumber, feta cheese, red onion, etc. Overall, you can't go wrong with The Patio! My mother-in-law picked The Patio for dinner for Mother's Day. I was surprised how busy they were in the early evening, as I didn't expect fast casual places to be on anyone's radar. As an added touch, all mothers get a single red rose to take home. The menu at The Patio is unique, in that it isn't just BBQ on their menu. The Patio offers BBQ favorites like ribs and pulled pork, but there is plethora of burgers, chicken, salads, and kebabs to choose from. My husband likes the ribs, but I always opt for one of their chicken sandwiches. This time I had the Monterey Chicken sandwich (with BBQ sauce, Monterey Jack cheese, and bacon) with some cheese fries. First, the chicken sandwich was massive and that chicken was very tender and coated in BBQ perfectly - no soggy bun! The fries portion can easily feed 2-3 people, I couldn't finish them all. The Patio probably isn't the place I'd want to be during a hail storm (again). The peaked ceilings and enormous windows amplified the noise and scared the crap out of me. read more

Pay my bill. Lackluster person who hates their job doesn't even ask if I'm dining in or carrying out. I see bill. Walk up to disgruntled employee who hates life and is giving me death glare and simply state "can I get this to go"... Holy hell, you woulda thought WWIII broke out at Patio. Bags are thrown around, bitchy comments tossed my way but said to other surrounding staff instead... I start wondering if my food has been spit in. I'm wondering if I'm over reacting and even my co-workers exclaim: "dang, that girl hates you...". Awesome. I'm not even going to continue, as the crap service continued for another five minutes. This place is completely awesome if you like "On The Bone" ribs. There are a few other locations, but I have only been to this one. The deal is, you place your order at the counter and take your seat...they give you a number with a holder so the people can find you. They have even have....can you guess.....a Patio....to eat outside (if you desire). The ribs are awesome and come with a choice of sides: Baked, French Fries, or (my favorite) Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Also coleslaw and bread/butter. They have their on BBQ Sauce...go for the spicy!! They also have a great BBQ chicken...burgers..and a salads, etc... The service is excellent and fast. They do have booze of you like, otherwise it is a self service soft drink thing. Also, they do have carryout and it travels just fine!! read more

Was at the this location last Thursday, I hadn't been here in over 20 years. Friends have recently said they like this patio location. I ordered a Greek chicken salad, it took about 15mins to prepare around 2:30pm? When my takeout order was ready I looked in the bag and asked for another salad as I like dressing and was denied....told I had to purchase and of course there was a line now. I said I hope there's enough and I left. The $13 salad seemed fine, of course not enough salad dressing, but that wasn't the problem. This salad wanted out of me within an hour :-S. I felt like i was getting a death glare from the girl at the counter, as soon as i glanced over at her she asked "can I help you??" in kind of a demanding tone (across the whole lobby)... I told her I was just waiting for my friend to order... i was standing to the side by the beverage station, and there was no one in line anyway... Finally he came out, and we ordered. I wanted soup but couldn't decide, they all sounded so good. I asked the girl what her favorite soup was, and she snapped, "Well i don't eat meat on Friday, so i would have to say the vegetable lentil." So sorry for asking, Little Miss Judge-y, but you work in a place that sells BURGERS, HOT DOGS AND RIBS. After an evening at the driving range, my friends and I were hankering for some BBQ. And the Patio happened to be right along the way... I got a 1/2 slab of ribs and chicken combo, which also came with mashed potatoes. Add to that a pitcher of blue moon to spread around, and it was an amazing spread for under $20. I'm not the biggest BBQ guy, mainly because the sauces can get too sweet for me, but the Patio's BBQ sauce is quite balanced and finger-licking good. While the amount of food I received was intimidating at first, it was a clean plate by the time I was done. A nice perk is that they'll serve you at your table and clear your table after you're done, so it feels a major step up from any sort of fast food place. The folks working at the Patio also were very friendly during my visit. Highly recommend for a simple, effective BBQ fix. read more

I crave The Patio's Tuna Melt. I should just end my review there and let that speak for the Patio entirely, but I guess that it just wouldn't do it the justice it should receive. But seriously, the Tuna Melt at this place is absolutely delicious and all that a great Tuna Melt should be. Perfect chunks of tuna, mixed with a little bit of mayo (but not a lot, as many places unfortunately do), celery and onions minced to perfection, and placed between two slices of Cheddar cheese on Rye, melted and grilled to absolute heavenly goodness. This, my friends, is the essence of a great Tuna Melt! And The Patio has never let me down! The place is not a sit down, fancy restaurant, so don't go in there expecting something that its not. No, instead, you order up at the front counter, and then take your order number with you to your table of choice. Then, a runner will bring your food to you when it is ready. But don't let that deter you from going there. The food is very good, and nothing that I have ever had there has ever let me down. I'm not a big ribs fan, but they are "famous" for them, and I know many people that would vouch for that title. They have a vast menu to choose from, and multiple locations around the Chicago 'burbs to choose from. I went here Monday 11/29/21 for lunch. The customer in front of me purchased some drinks. The cashier Kevin dropped the cups on the floor and still gave them to the customer. I thought that's pretty nasty. The customer accepted the cups and kept moving. Another employee asked did you just hand the customer cups off the floor. Kevin began to laugh, he couldn't even greet me because he was laughing so hard. Finally he took my order. After I was placed my order I reached for a water cup myself because I didn't want him touching it. He had the nerve to get an attitude as if my sanitized hand was worse then giving a customer a cup off the floor. Food was good just hope that it wasn't off the floor. read more
