Recently I ordered a ribs & pulled pork combo with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. All was very good. I also ate some of my son's burger and enjoyed that too. I like that they have a rewards program for free food. This wasn't a spot I used to frequent often, but I want to add it to the rotation. The Patio is the place to be when you are looking for a variety of food options in a cozy atmosphere. I was passing by and couldn't resist especially the smell of BBQ as I entered the large warm and inviting space. The Patio has been around since 1977 and they do this thing right. Placing your order at the counter, they bring your order to your table which allows me a moment to relax. This really helps to set the mood before enjoying a hearty meal. I've always enjoyed everything I've tried here and this visit was no exception. Even a variety of drinks including alcohol and refills on soft drinks helps to make me feel not rushed. A few tv's are spread throughout which again makes me just want to not be in a hurry to leave. I did leave and I'll come back again and again. I'll see you again soon. These days they short our order so often I'm starting to think it's not incompetence but actually intentional.

FULL SLAB   Ribs might hog all the glory at The Patio, but don't sleep on the pulled pork or bbq chicken.   After buying a house in the area, I was thrilled to find this family favorite on Weber Rd, a couple blocks south of Boughton.  Apart from their large dining room, they've got a pickup counter for online orders as well as a drive-thru lane.  The Patio also does loads of catering, where they prep huge foil trays with mac 'n' cheese, barbecue, and salads for company luncheons (of which I've enjoyed my fair share).   My wife loves the traditional ribs in a half slab ($16.50).  The meat is flavorful and tender, plus the sauce is great.  Bigger appetites may necessitate ordering a full slab ($25), which you can get in a dry rub instead of coated in bbq, if you so choose. The Patio has 'classic' and 'spicy' versions of their barbecue sauce; the latter has some considerable heat to it!   The BBQ plates give you a lot of meat for your dollar--pulled pork ($14) or beef brisket ($16) are piled high and come with choice of starchy side.  Most times I go with the loaded baked potato (butter/cheese/sour cream), but their garlic mashed 'taters are good too.  Fries are decent.  You'll always get coleslaw and bread + butter with your meal.   Their terrific rotisserie chicken flies under the radar.  1/4 chicken is $9.50, 1/2 chicken is $13.50.  The skin gets wonderfully crispy while the chicken underneath stays juicy.  They have a beer counter if you want a brewski to wash down all that glorious food--a 12oz draft is $4-5, a fair price.   Bread = 4.5 Circuses = 4.5   With as much business as The Patio draws on a given night, if their kitchen was anything other than razor-sharp, they'd collapse onto themselves like a dying star.  Fortunately, the folks calling the shots here know how to cook on all burners, with fast service and accurate orders. Management runs a tight ship and across half a dozen visits, we've yet to encounter a problem. Sh*t, I probably just jinxed it.   * TL;DR *   Darien, Lombard, Aurora, Bolingbrook....the nearest location to you might change but the high quality of food shouldn't. These guardians of the grill know their stuff backwards and forwards. BBQ from The Patio is already beloved by Eric S & Family and is bound to become a mainstay in our house for years. read more

The food was warm and tasty upon delivery, but when I called to report missing French fries, I spent over $100 and I was told to contact Uber Eats support. I don't understand why the delivery service would be responsible since the order receipt shows 2 fries. Uber Eats didn't cook the food or package the food. Service was ok. Friend had chicken kabob and said was OK. I tried briquette and pulled pork. Both were ok as a meat BUT they were drowning in sauce. So not very appetizing. Also only 1 sauce available that I could find. After trying bbq around the us and world this was disappointing. So not bad but not really good bbq by St. Louis or Kansas City or Texas standards. This restaurant is awful with getting orders correct and they do nothing to atone for it! I have had wrong orders at least 5 times now. I'm sad to say I will not be back. The business is going down. Go to Portillos or any where else. Steer clear of this location. They routinely forget the kids meals drinks and fries which makes for angry children and the restaurant offers no solution once you have reached the house and discovered their mistake. I have never been there before, for some reason. I was expecting it to be a restaurant with servers . But you have to order your food in the front and they will bring it out to you ..So here we go. We ordered the Caribbean mango salad with chicken. Didn't really have a jerk flavor to the chicken as described but it was a decent, They brought us on accident the chop salad. That is a copycat version of portillo's . Which I wish I had ordered ..Too bad it was for another table.. But I did get a picture lol...We also ordered a few sides, Mac and cheese, corn bread and baked beans..I would pass on the Mac and cheese .. Popeyes actually has a decent mac. The corn bread was good and so were the baked beans. We ordered the half BBQ chicken , Chicken Oreganato..and the Caribbean mango salmon which was decent ..but the side of roasted vegetables with the salmon was delicious ..Since I'm a soup connoisseur the loaded cream of potato soup was fire... Their desserts are from Sweet Connection so they are of good quality...Which Tony's Finer food also carries their products...if we go back in time most Greek restaurants always carried their bakery items ..so that's a thumbs up on dessert ...If you are really hungry, don't worry, the entrees come quickly. ..I was also Happy that there is plenty of parking... My husband and I went there for lunch on June 5, 2024 for lunch. We placed our order and found a table we wanted to sit at. We had only been seated about 5 minutes when food was delivered to our table. We thought there had to be a mistake and that we had received someone else's order , but it was ours. We could not believe our food came out that fast. The order was correct and delicious. There were numerous other people at tables in the restaurant making comments that they could not believe how quickly they got their food. I was so impressed I went and found a manager and told her how outstanding the service was. The service, efficiency, presentation and the quality of the food were top-notch!
