No smile from the boy, but I was pleased with his perfect and "still-fluffy looking" haircut!

Four Paws up for Peaceful Pooch!! The Beloved Goldendoodle started going here in October 2020 when we moved back to Boston full-time after splitting our time between here and DC for 6 years. I had found a groomer down there that I loved so all of his beauty needs were taken care of down there, but when we came back I was worried because his previous groomer had retired. A Doodle group on Facebook lead me here, scheduling was easy online (select what you would like done, pick a date and submit... confirmation will come when your appt has been confirmed by them) and the boy gets a nice cut without being too short (he prefers the fluffy look). If you and/or your pup like, they can spend time after grooming with the other dogs or they will let you know with a text when you can go and pickup your BFF. My boy is almost 14 and has been having treatments for cancer since last summer, so he isn't too into hanging out anymore so I always zoom back and pick him up. Easy in-and-out since there is a link sent to you to pay online, and if you know your schedule, plan on booking in advance since PPooch is popular and dogs are in abundance these days!

I could not be more satisfied with the Peaceful Pooch! My bichon, Duke, looks great every time and gets compliments wherever we go. These photos, taken once we'd come home from an appointment, say it all: He looks great and happy as can be. He's smiling from ear to ear!

    Uneven facial hair.

Not happy with this place as of this service. It's not been consistent service with each visit. Every time we bring him in, the service outcome is worse. See photos. I feel this place is over booking dogs and cut as fast as they can. His ears were super uneven, tear stains prominent, back of the head was also uneven, the but area is always shaved super low and looks awkward. He never has waste stuck to his fur and I think they assume they should just cut it short. I'll be going back to our original place and keep this place as a back up. We tried this place because many friends have doodles that come here and never really have issues but I've seen it with my dog. Hopefully they see this and try to treat each dog with the same quality and care instead of rushing through the job. Very disappointed and dissatisfied for a service that is not that cheap.

We love everything about the Peaceful Pooch! Shelby, Rachel, and the whole team there are amazing and always take the best care of our dog Rockey. He loves going to see his friends whether it's for doggy daycare or grooming, he always comes home happy and exhausted....and looking adorable of course!

How can someone say this place is good? They made my dog look absolutely ugly for a price that is absolutely atrocious.

Great dog story to get your dog food , grooming and other things you need for your dog's care …read more The price is good for the quality of the product along with the quality of service for your dog . I said I am sorry am I very early and she looked at her watch and said it's 10:07 - you'll need to wait a bit like I was there an hour early. I then asked how long until he will be ready and they said around 3-4 hours. I called to check on him after that time and they had no update on him. Then their phone lines were down so I went in and they let me know he was up next on the grooming table but didn't have an exact time. At 4 pm he was finally ready and they let me know they brought him out to go to the bathroom( plus for them but I'd hope so as he had been there awhile!) I got there as soon as I could and my dog looked upset. The groomer came out and said how she couldn't do my dog's face because he was biting and thrashing and I should look into anxiety meds for grooming. I have personally seen my dog groomed and been told by every groomer in the past that he is a joy to groom. He went to puppy training classes and is always a calm dog in these situations. I let them know it must be something they had done or triggered to make him react that way because I have never seen my dog bite, he's a very sweet boy. They also claimed he was in " bad shape" and shamed me for his hair yet he was given a bath and brushed by a professional a week before this groom. I went back in because I was so upset by this experience and the staff and they just continued to blame my dog. Regardless, for an upscale dog grooming establishment they should be able to accommodate dogs for this price. Horrible experience- I have not written a Yelp review in a long time but I needed to for this. $95 before tip for this and they didn't offer an apology or anything but just blamed my dog.

I scheduled an appointment at VCA because my dog came from a different state and not much is known about his early puppy years, he was found in Texas wandering the streets with another dog. He was in a lovely foster home when I adopted him. They took amazing care of him but of course I wanted him to have a full physical to make sure he was starting off healthy. 1.) It's strange to me that the owner does not go into the room during the physical, but ok maybe it's a space issue, not a huge deal but I would think it would be helpful to both the owner and the staff, I had cats for many years and always accompanied them during exams. 2.) I was told his right ear was red but also told they never actually looked inside. I was told to "keep an eye on it." Without a full assessment and diagnosis, what exactly am I keeping an eye on? I was told he "Didn't want us looking in his ear." How exactly do you treat ailments if you don't assess them? 3.) Two weeks later and the ear worsens, as I knew it would. I bring him in again (now I'm annoyed) If his ear had been properly assessed the first time, I wouldn't now be wasting time and money, and he would've already started on meds. By now, his ear would have been healed. I'm an ER nurse I would never imagine us sending someone home without a full assessment. 4.) I'm sent home with $250.00 worth of medications that my dog really does not want to sit still for. It is the logic here that bothers me the most. So, he wouldn't sit still for you to even look in his ear, but you think for the next two weeks he will let me instill two separate medications, one of which is twice per day. Ok, cool. The alternative would be for them to sedate him, clean his ears and instill medication. That made the most logical sense to me, but they insisted I take him home and potentially ruin all the trust I've built over the past two weeks. Awesome. I will say this, if these medications don't work and I'm forced to bring him in a third time, that will be the final time I go to this clinic. I'm hoping things improve from here.
