Although I always took her grooming seriously, I now am such an incredible stickler for groomers that pay very close attention to detail, because I want my Madge to feel beautiful after a haircut. I have been taking my Golden Retriever to Pooch Parlour over a year now and have been very happy. The owners have been responsive, accommodating, and really listen to what I want done. Pooch Parlour: Horrible Customer Service. Sloppy Grooming. Poor Management Dog owners know how difficult it is to find a good groomer, or even get an appointment for one. That shortage in the market gives space for unprofessional pet groomers like Pooch Parlour to stay. The lady -who introduces herself as co-owner- is shockingly unpleasant and outrageously rude, not only to customers but also to her own son who works there. If only that, but the grooming was a total disaster. It took a ridiculous 4 hours to groom a puppy! You'd hope for a good job after 4-hour grooming but it was not the case here, and not for $80. The coat was totally untouched, 2 legs were trimmed and 2 legs were not, hair around the face was uneven and even dirty... The puppy was so fearful with heart pounding when we picked her up and continued for the rest of the day. These guys are totally over their heads. They don't seem to understand that their mismanagement/incompetence is why it takes 4 hours to do a sloppy grooming job on a small dog! Stay away from this place. read more

I could not be any happier with the service here! It had been a little while since Noodle had been groomed, and he was matted pretty badly. Most places I have gone to in the past always just completely shave him, but they were able to leave him with some hair! The staff is super sweet and friendly and they clearly take very good care of the animals while they are in their care. After his haircut, Noodle was even hanging out with the other friendly dogs that were waiting to be picked up, instead of sitting in a crate. Marcio did an AMAZING job on both my Bernese and my golden. It was the best grooming they have ever received! They looked GORGEOUS when I picked them up. We have a Bichon-terrier mix who has rarely gotten a grooming that was what we, or the dog, was happy with. His coat is thick and curly, and most of the time, the groomer we have been using trims him close to the skin. It's not just a matter of aesthetics. He has (as I understand is common with Bichons) a number of warty growths, a few of which are invariably nicked in the grooming process, causing him discomfort for a couple of weeks. Other places we have tried haven't been much better. Also, we don't want the pouffy show dog look, instructions which some groomers seem to ignore. So we looked at Yelp reviews, and Pooch Parlour seemed to have a number of customers praising them for their handling of situations similar to ours. We decided to give them a try. Marcio listened carefully to our concerns, and said he thought he could help us. Well, he did. And Pepper got probably the best haircut we can remember. Somehow Marcio was able to leave enough fur so that the skin problems were avoided, (and also our concerns were allayed that there wouldn't be enough insulation from the cold for the remaining winter weather). I wish I remembered the owner's name that I met with but she was so unbelievably caring and genuine when I dropped our Australian Shepard off for his first grooming there. He is very anxious about going to the groomers but she made sure he was comfortable and asked for input on what we wanted done and listened to every word I said. I searched and searched for a reliable kind groomer for first experience of our 4 month old Havanese. I am so happy we found Pooch Parlour! Marcio is not just a groomer, he is a great dog's hair stylist!! My puppy always comes out with the perfect teddy bear labradoodle look. This last time she was getting matted and Marcio took extra time to get those knots out without having to cut much hair. Since Susy came home at 12 weeks old she didn't like her paws being touched. 6 years latter that didn't change and grooming became almost impossible. She would come home so stressed and would sleep for days at a time and I just knew she was feeling like that due to her nails being trimmed. One of the places I took her to told me "no groomer would cut her nail so I should take her to a vet so they can sedate her and then they could cut her nails" I was really mad and of course I didn't have the money to spend and I would not put her health in jeopardy every time she needed her nails trimmed. When I walked in to the Pooch Parlour and told Nair and Marcio about my problem they told me to not worry that they would approach her slowly and in various grooming sessions they would be able to make her comfortable and cut her nails. Said and done, 3 years latter I can not imagine taking Susy to another place. They are caring and patient and just simply amazing. I have taken my puppy Lulu here twice now and both times have left very pleased! The pooch parlour is most definitely my and my my husbands favorite place to get her groomed. We have tried other places and this is the best! The prices are on par with other groomers around, but this place is awesome. Lulu leaves smelling fresh and looking adorable! Lulu really likes coming here and always finds friends to play with and i find they have cute accessories for the pups too. The owner is very nice, and his mother is one of the groomers.
