Really fun atmosphere. Lots of parking! Room for improvement. I don't usually do less than a 4-star review for local places; however, this place on the restaurant/bar side, I was not a raving fan...yet. So much potential and a GREAT addition to the street, was just a miss for us. We live quite close, and while not pickleball people now, sounded like some fun and when I found out they had partnered with another local pizza spot (very famous) I was in! Bar, lovely human, was wonderful, but drinks were just okay, well-priced though and fast, love it! We ordered a pie to-go, and after an hour or so and many drinks waiting (our choice), and no buzz on the alert button they hand out, my partner went up to the to-go counter and asked. Thought they were just slammed. Nope! It had been sitting there for so long it was cold, soaking through the bottom, and when he asked, was told, we didn't hear it and it's our fault....Okay, that's one way to go. It didn't buzz, we heard many others and they make themselves known ;) I would have appreciated just a "oh, it's been ready, here you go." I don't expect service to be perfect or without personally or an apology. But blaming was not necessary when we were not complaining. We will hopefully be welcome again after this review, as it's meant to help improve not hurt. Just a disappointing time that I hope can change. What a cool spot. We had a private watch party for the World Cup and it was perfect. The Den space was really nice with lots of different seating for our group with a huge projection screen. It was my second time here for axe throwing. The first time was okay, nothing to write home about. The second visit disgusted me quite literally and figuratively The food was nasty and bland. We had the nachos, charcuterie plate. One of the pieces of cheese looked rotten. In the room next to us, some unattended youth were playing and one of them casually screamed a racial slur. The employee at the axe throwing heard it, the situation was reported to management and the result was the same: nothing. I'll save my hard earned dollars for elsewhere because only if the staff would have heard, they would have done something. Yikes. read more

I'm a racquet/ paddle kind of person! I've played competitively in badminton, racquetball, tennis and ping pong. I'm getting up there in age, and friends my age have been transitioning to pickleball. I tried it several years ago, but my knees weren't having it. Decided pickleball wasn't for me. Fast forward a few years. A friend told me that there was a friend on Facebook that was starting a pickleball group. I asked to join the group. I like staying social and active in my old age. For our first get together we decided on a location that was centrally located of where everyone was coming from. I'm in Hillsboro, one was from Vancouver and another was coming from Troutdale. We decided on The People's Courts. I like that there was plenty of parking. I entered the building and it was spacious with plenty of courts, good lighting. I got there early and since I hadn't eaten yet, went to The Kitchen (I love the reference to "kitchen" in pickleball!) to see what they had. There were a few vegan items, I ended up getting fries and a coke zero while waiting for friends. When my friend that made the court reservation got there, there was a mix up with his reservation. He tried to reserve online, but was unsuccessful. So he called and spoke with someone. The problem was that the reservation was for last month. Availability was now more limited. We ended up getting an outdoor court for half an hour. I actually liked playing outdoors, though it was a warm day. We got The Bunker down in the basement for the next hour. I kind of liked it down there because it was private and had fun music playing! We didn't really know the rules, so we just rallied around. It was a great workout! Upstairs, it looked like plenty of courts, plenty of seating areas to gather and be social. Ping pong tables, corn hole thingies. I saw an arcade. Everything you need to have a fun time! read more

The axe throwing was fine. It was the businesses response to racial slurs that made me feel uncomfortable. My sister and I went axe throwing here. We went downstairs into the basement and the guy taught us how to hold the axes. He said we would throw a bit to get the hang of it and then we'd get to play a couple of games. We started throwing and then decided to get some food. We ordered the nachos, charcuterie plate, the lemonade with some kind of berries, and a mocktail. The food wasn't great but it wasn't terrible. The woman that took my order was great though. I have lots of no-this and that-on-the-side and she was very kind and helpful. My sister and I were downstairs eating when we heard it. Some teens were in the room next to the room we were in. They had been playing the whole time, which was fine, but now we heard a kid yell out, "stupid n*gger!" We both looked at each other. Yep, we heard what we thought we heard. I looked at the axe helper guy, we all agreed that we heard what we thought we heard. I asked the axe helper if the kids were here with an adult. He said he didn't know. I work with kids so I'm used to being around teens. I got up and went into the other room. I said, "Excuse me" and the kids froze, except one. He took off up the stairs. There were four kids. Three looked to be of European heritage. One looked Black. I walked toward the stairs and again, the one kid hurried farther up the stairway. I turned to one of the kids and asked if the kid running away was the kid that said it, the kid shrugged. I went back to the table with my sister. She said the vibe was ruined so we left. As we were heading out, we saw the kids again. This time they were in the arcade. I started to go in there but I thought, "Why bother?" My sister suggested we say something to the guy at the counter. We told him what happened and he apologized to us. That's it. He said that if he had heard it, he would have said something to the kids. I don't know what I expected but it wasn't that. It made me feel alone. I wish I had thought to tell him that an employee heard it too ('cause why would be trust paying customers). The kid didn't say it to us but it created an environment where we didn't feel good. The staff not saying anything to the kids or really doing anything made me feel unwelcome. read more

We celebrated my husband's (43rd) birthday here over the weekend and what a great choice it was! Everything was amazing. The staff was great, the food was sooo good and we had a great time playing games as we chatted, laughed and connected with our friends. We'd go back just for the food, if it were closer to home. The bar/restaurant is designed so well you could hang out in there with friends and not even realize you're in the middle of a warehouse surrounded by courts. We had our company holiday event at The People's Court and it was 10 out of 10. I love the idea of an interactive event vs sitting at a dining table. We had a personalized sign upon entering, amazing drink menu, delicious appetizers and food and fun sports to play. This is not just an indoor Pickleball facility, but they also have other fun games like indoor disk golf, Ping Pong, Arcade, bocce, and cornhole. In addition, they have two restaurants. One serves pizza, and the other has a larger many with many choices of alcoholic drinks. My main interest in pickleball. They have five indoor and six outdoor courts. I would go there not just for pickleball but also for the food and drinks too. Our exprience so far has been very positive. Everyone is positive, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere there is festive and feels like a party. Parking is not an issue, as they have plenty of spots. The pickleball court prices are on the expensive side, so I recommend going there in a group of four. It makes it more tolerable. read more

Great service and staff! Courts inside and outside. Love their menu. Had a birthday party there about a week and everyone had a blast!

On first visit, I've had no issues. Air conditioned indoor pickleball courts and they also had what looked like 2 singles sized courts along with a dinking sized court. 6 outdoor pickleball courts as well. Corn hole in between pickleball courts and bocci on the outsides along with a whole setup for table tennis made this place an interesting mix of sports all in one place. They have an arcade with throwback games as well as pinball and they said their putt putt style disc golf was opening soon (basement) Only played pickleball there but the facility was clean, the courts well made, and everything taken care of so far. The only down side is the ceilings are too low. It doesn't come into account for normal play but it rules out some shots (lobs mostly) I'd say for pickleball, it might be better suited for drinking and having fun while playing versus competitive pickleball. It has a bowling alley vibe with bar seating overlooking all the courts. Full restaurant and bar were open but didn't get to try it read more

Got a chance to have an office happy hour here and it's definitely a great spot for both activities and food/drinks. There are plenty to do here: pickle ball, bocce ball, table tennis, and even a disc golf putt-putt! The space is super large too. The food they provided was tasty. Finally got to check this out and I must say I love Pickleball! Came on a rainy evening and opted for the smaller court since there were only two of us. There seems to be a generous amount of time to play, so it's not like there's a timer going. My experience was that everything was very clean here, and we were able to play a good 30 minutes. The bar staff was nice and I got a margarita, and my friend a chilled Irish coffee. The fans on the courts could have been facing the players as it got pretty sweaty. The arcade has a mix of DDR (with an attached flat monitor,hehe), pinball, retro, and the Star Wars arcade. Would absolutely recommend for a big group as there's lots to do, but they did well for a small group too. read more

Really amazing space for pickleball and other merriment (pingpong, arcade games, corn hole, etc.). Easy online reservations process for booking a court, and the whole facility is well-maintained, clean, and ready to go. Only rec is to plan ahead and skip the food and drink options. The offerings are fine, but dang, the folks working those areas are consistently disgruntled and sometimes downright hostile. Since this recreation building opened, I've been for pickleball, work bonding, hang out with friends. So nice to have a local pickleball court that serves food and beer, have plenty of seating for groups, have a variety of game options like disc golf, ping pong, corn hole, bocce ball, and arcade. Plenty of activities for everyone. Large parking lot is also a plus. Only downside is the cost to play and too crowded on Thursday-Saturday evenings. This is my go to pickleball locale. read more

It gets five stars because it's unique! It's a game room where you can play indoor pickleball, pingpong, bocce, disc golf -- am I missing anything? I know we have a few pingpong places in town, and I'm sure there are indoor pickleball courts, but I believe this is the only place where you can play so many games. It's sort of like a bowling alley (except without bowling) -- you pay at a desk up front, get your equipment, and then go play. Great spot for an office party or adult birthday party etc -- but you don't need a big group. It's also a nice place to bring visiting relatives who are ready for some more active experiences (especially if the weather is bad outside), or just go with a friend or two. (Not sure about going alone -- you could do disc golf solo, but the other games need a partner.) There is an extensive draft list, so if one of your friends doesn't want to bend more than the elbow, he will be fine! Cocktails and NA beverages too. There also is a variety of food options, but we didn't try them. (Psst...this place is right next door to a great pho place, Pho Oregon! That's where we went to eat.) read more

Great place to play during the better weather days in Oregon. The outdoor courts are nice and well maintained, lots of seating options both inside and outside for socializing too. The indoor courts are also nice but the ceilings are low making lobbing difficult. I can't remember when I saw SO many customers with huge smiles on their faces, laughing and socializing in the mix of activities. It felt like the way better, more adult but still family friendly version of the skating rink hang out of decades past. Super fun. Also, a big THANK YOU to one of your team members, Johnny (I believe), who pulled his car around to give us a jump start in the parking lot after we had spent hours inside playing pickleball, cornhole, skeeball, pong, & pinball. The very best place to play pickleball in Portland. Excellent courts. Since their opening, they have gone out of their way to revise and tweak their schedule and prices to accommodate all players. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The people who show up for the open plays are the very best kind of fun. Sure, people are competitive, but not aggressive or oppressive. The culture at TPC is first and foremost "have fun" and make sure those who are just learning get supported. Food: good salads and bowls. Pizza is also good. Fine selection of beers, cocktails. We were happy to see this being built, because we are curious about Pickleball! We checked it out yesterday, and instead of playing pickle ball we just opted for bocce ball. We had some yummy drinks and some tater tots and watched everyone around us having a lot of fun. Who knew but now I love bocce My daughter accidentally tripped and bonked her elbow and one of the staff came over and gave her ice cream to make her feel better. It was really sweet! Low energy and not much availability to actually play Pickleball. I was on the willing to pay $15 to really do nothing when I can go to a local park and play which I did for over an hour and no Cost with people who actually wanted to play and not sit around talking about how they were too tired to do anything. read more

THE place to play in Portland! The indoor courts are attractive, and SO MUCH QUIETER than any other indoor place I've ever played--which allows conversation and jokes in between points. The six outdoor courts are also lovely. Whether indoors or out, there's piped in music, which amps up the fun-factor. My friends and I love playing pickleball here, then enjoying a social beverage or two (great beers on tap) and having some food. The perfect location for a date night or fun with friends.
