This is our go to spot on Thursdays or Fridays. You have two of the best bartenders, Brian and Steve, working. It's a great spot for watching games, getting a good drink, great food with a large menu, and their cakes are homemade. To me, this place seems like hidden gem. My husband and I talk about this place a lot and wish we still lived in the area because the burgers and cake are so good. The burgers are juicy and huge, and you have to get a slice of the cake to share. The waitresses are nice and accommodating. First visit we had the fish tacos and fish and chips. Pretty good ! Loved the atmosphere and great service . The cakes are amazing! We went back the following week hoping we found our spot, had a Rueben and French dip and calamari. The Rueben was a bit dry and the sauerkraut not very fresh . Also over grilled. French dip just ok. Calamari I liked , friend thought it was salty. But the lemon poppy cake 10/10. Service is great and the beer is cold . I would give this place another shot . I like the vibe. read more

Omg, my friend brought me here for good food and desserts and when I saw that it was a bar, I questioned her judgement. Boy did she prove me wrong. The Hawaiian mango fish tacos were so yummy! And the poke so fresh and tasty. The staff friendly. Don't sit on the bench near the entrance...it was very dusty...I thought maybe it was stained that way, nope, just full layer of dust. Come check out this neighborhood restaurant. Lots of TVs with multiple games happening. Surround sound speakers to make you feel immersed in the game. The food is good. Bridge City is a pretty grungy place, but not in a dive bar sort of way, just a pretty run down, dark, and dirty place with tacky and greasy menus. Said greasy menus feature lots of seafood and sandwiches. There is a full, separate menu just for desserts, but we didn't order dessert. First item: "Salmon candy". Not sure why they call it that, considering it is just Cajun-seasoned salmon chunks served with an overly sweet dipping sauce. If you're considering getting this, skip it. It is not good. Second item: Sliders. Competent, but not good. The beef was really flavorless. The fries were good, though. Third item: The "Californian". This was one of the drippiest things I'd ever seen, anywhere. As soon as my dining companion picked it up to take a bite, sauce dripped all over her plate. If the chicken had any flavor, it was completely drowned out by the sauce (she only ate half, and offered me the other half). Prices seem reasonable, overall. The service was actually quite good, though, and that is what added an extra star to this review. read more

Stopped here for lunch while in town visiting a friend. It had a sports bar vibe. Full nice big bar. There were tables and booths for families. I had my baby with me so that's where we sat. The bartender/ server maybe it was the owner I'm not sure but he was efficient, friendly and didn't bother us too much yet didn't neglect us. We got the candy salmon, French fries and mac & cheese. All the food was great, came in big portions and was very reasonably priced. I would definitely come back here when I'm back in town or if I lived around here. read more

I have been going to Bridge City since about 2003 every time I get my Toyota oil changed. I have loved the Fish Tacos with Mango Salsa there, almost with a passion. This last time, however, they seemed a bit lacking. Just a nickel sized dollop of Mango Salsa and very little Chipotle Aioli. I'm not sure if the new owners are trying to cut costs or what, but they lacked the rich flavor of years past. I hope they bring back the old ways. read more

I was introduced to Bridge City a couple months ago by a friend who raved about their menu variety, quality of food, and the service. Walking into the restaurant, the interior was more appealing than I had imagined. Meaning that it's a good balance of sports bar and family restaurant. Natural light from the north, west, and east windows enhances the vibe; and the interior isn't plastered by sports memorabilia. I also appreciate that I didn't have to raise my voice to talk over the media volume. The staff are friendly, attentive, relaxed, and welcoming. Most of all, the menu offers a long variety of fabulous options. Something for everyone. The first visit, I was blown away by their Californian Grilled Chicken Sandwich. (My eyeballs rolled back in my head as I savored the incredible flavors.) The second visit, I had the Strawberry Chicken Salad: a generous portion that I happily polished in entirety...down to the last tiny piece of candied walnut. Their alcoholic beverage menu offers a long list of specially selected NW brews, craftt ciders, and more. The prices are very reasonable for the exceptional quality, creativity, and service that blows away other restaurants in the sports bar/family restaurant category in the area. I am looking forward to trying their brunch menu to celebrate my upcoming birthday. I don't know how I'll choose among their 25 SCRATCH-MADE deserts. I'd love to see the property owner spruce up the exterior's landscaping and a bit of a facelift to attract attention and draw in more customers. So, get y'er buns in there and give Bridge City a try! One of my favorite local sports bars. If there is no room at the bar, there is always a table available. Easy parking, but be careful of the hefty dip in the driveway. Slow down a little. Several televisions, and usually a lively crowd rooting for whomever they are supporting. I usually get a couple appetizers, often a Caesar salad with some sirloin tips, which is exactly what it sounds like. But the blue cheese burger is pretty great and deserts are generous. read more

(You) You (You, you, ooh ooh ooh, you) To be honest, the scratchmade layer cakes weren't amazing. I tried two (all by my little, lonesome self) and neither was especially moist or rich in flavor. But, and it's a big one - like mine after this meal - it was cake ... and beer ... I was happy. A slice of Almond Joy Cake (3.5 stars) with Ghirardelli Chocolate and Coconut & Almond Buttercream Frosting had the most promise and did taste like its namesake candy bar. Meanwhile, my all-time favorite cake remains Red Velvet (3.5 stars), so getting a slice of the Bridge City Taproom version with Cream Cheese Frosting was obligatory. Luckily, I also tried two IPAs (... party of 1 over here! ...) that had me buzzed and jazzed. A pint of Straight Outta Portland IPA (4 stars) from Portland's Migration Brewing got me straight outta my funk thanks to 6.4% abv and a hoppy 60 ibu. An even cooler choice was a pint of Indoor Survival Hazy IPA (5 stars) serving 6.5% abv & 35 ibu from Everybody's Brewing across the river in White Salmon, WA. For "real" food, I couldn't resist the creamy "scratch" 3-Cheese Mac ($10.95) with Bacon ($4) thanks to Amanda C's helpful review. Thanks AC! It was 4 stars and creamier than creamy. The cheesy flavor was unique and nostalgic at the same time. I might get it again ... along with a couple slices of layer cake and a couple cold beers. The sports bar was were I sat ... and the service started really slow, but did slightly improve by the end. It was impressive how popular the bar was with families of all ages. This place gives me a neighborhood bar feel. Parking is a little iffy. Most of the available parking is in the back of the lot away from people and blocked from view by big dumpsters. It doesn't exactly scream safe. I went in on a Thursday night and it was pretty packed with people watching football. They have a big bar area and lots of TVs. The bartender was super nice and so was the server that brought out our food. I give them 5 stars for service. I ordered the fish and chips because the menu says they are hand breaded. I wasn't very impressed. Even though they were hand dipped the breading was still pretty thick, which really isn't appetizing to me. I ordered it with a side salad and that was a pretty good size. I'll head back in another time or two because there were other things on the menu that I want to try. Even if I end up not liking the food I'll still go back just for drinks and the exceptional service! read more
