The purposely have a mix of EMs, early solid state, DMD, and modern machines so any day here is like walking through pinball history. Games are always tune to play their best. how have i not reviewed WedgeHead? For any pinball folks, they should know all about this spot in PDX. For those who are looking for something fun to do and aren't a hard core pinball nerd, this place is still for you. You can play unlimited pinball for $12 and the food and drink here are great too. You can even go just to eat and not play any pinball although there is always one game on coin drop that you can still play if you need to get your flips in. On the pinball side, these machines here are maintained really well and play fast like they should when they came out regardless of whether that is a machine from the 1960s or one that came out this year. They host leagues and tournaments for women and non-binary folks (Gator Queens) as well as the very fun Howdy Pardner team based event on Thursdays. If you're new or interested in pinball that's one I would definitely suggest to check out. I make it a point to hit up Wedgehead every trip to Portland (at least once!) and you should too! read more

I was invited to wedge head by a coworker for a birthday party! Unlimited pinball?! What more could you ask for. 12$ and you can stay as long as you want (or until they close). I was shocked by the food. It was fresh and had lite options available as well. I had a Tex-mex Caesar salad (I would recommend getting that) and a house made horchata!!! I appreciated the non alcoholic beverages as I do t drink alcohol. You can reserve tables for parties (I'm not sure if this is an extra expense). I will say parking is TERRIBLE. Slot some extra time to park. I parked and paid at a near-ish by bank and walked over to avoid the stress of limited street parking. I can't wait to come back around! read more

Cool puck rock atmosphere with movies playing and music. The place wasn't busy at the time so service was great and fast. Burger was amazing. Highly recommend!!! Ok, WedgeHead is pretty damn cool! It's an establishment filled with nostalgia and decent food. The place has cool decorations, artwork, and pinball machines. And even though it has total bar vibes (which I'm usually not a fan of), I still found myself having a good time. The place has a few TVs surrounding the tables so my wife and I were able to enjoy our food whilst watching the Dodgers/Padres duke it out in Game 5 (Go, Dodgers!). Service was nothing to write home about. Again, it felt more like a bar than a traditional restaurant, so I totally understand and won't deduct any points. The food was pretty good! My wife and I both got the WedgeHead Cheeseburger (which automatically comes with fries), and it was delicious. It's a pretty decent sized burger, too, and the fries are nice and crispy and a good portion! My wife subbed her fries for "Animal Fries" which she thoroughly enjoyed. My only feedback on the WedgeHead Cheeseburger is to possibly go light on the Russian Dressing (or 86 the dressing altogether). I truly feel it doesn't need it. I think the coolest part of the place was surprisingly not the pinball machines but that the burgers, sandwiches, and burritos are named after WWF wrestlers (and yes, I still refer to the WWE as WWF because I'm a true 80s baby/90s kid, and I grew up loving the WWF). Next time, I think I'll try the Dude Love Cheeseburger because I love me some mushrooms... or the Undertaker Cheeseburger because I love me some bacon... or the Gold Dust Sandwich because I love me a fried chicken sandwich (patty or otherwise), or even the Cactus Jack Burrito because I love me some corn elote. Last but not least, this place doesn't serve Coca-Cola which is a bummer. Instead, they have RC Cola. Again, it fits the nostalgic vibes so this place still gets an ultimate pass from me. Burgers here are GOOD!!! Juicy, tasty, tons of flavor! I'm actually drooling remembering the experience. We also got the chips and queso. The queso was really tasty and they are very generous with the chips. My only complaint of the meal was the homemade lemonade. The cup was FULL of ice. If I had drained the actual liquid in another cup, it would've come out to maybe at most 4oz yet it cost $5. Didn't get a chance to play the pinball machines but the $12 all you can play pass seemed like a great deal. Loved the vibe of the place, lots to look at outside of eating and drinking. Some friends and I decided to hit up WedgeHead before going to a movie at the Hollywood Theatre. The ambiance was fun, there were sports guys there and some were excellent eye candy, so there's that. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Pinball is $12, which gets you unlimited games, but we are not very into it, so declined. A friend and I decided to try the adult slushie. It was amazing. We were thinking, well, we've blown being healthy at all. But surprisingly, this slushie wasn't overly sweet and tasted like they had just blended real fruit with some booze. Ours was a blueberry-pineapple-lime one and totally excellent. Unfortunately, can't recommend the food. It's 100 percent bar food in its basest form. A friend and I split the chicken sandwich, basically a processed meat sandwich that was microwaved. Our other friend got the house salad, which she said was okay I'd come back here for drinks and people watching. For food, I would go elsewhere. read more

I got so lucky to be staying right near this place. Looked on Yelp for closest restaurants and WedgeHead popped up. The burger was out of this world! Great bun, great sauce, great beef. The fries also rocked. Fun ambiance & friendly service. They had some cool drinks on their cocktail menu- even some mocktails! Great place to while away a rainy afternoon. Wedgehead offers great value if you'd like to play pinball for more than an hour, as free play all day is just $12 for 20+ machines. Favorites include Godzilla, Ghostbusters, Elvira's House of Horrors, Tron and Medieval Madness. Also, the food here is way better than most barcades! This spot has become one of my favorite/most happy for oodles of good reasons. First, the owners and staff are beyond kind and lovely--every one of them. Their passion for curating fun and community is so obvious throughout all the details of the space/place and every interaction. Just fantastic folks that make me feel so warmly welcomed every darn time. Second, RAD pinball offerings. Great variety, good schedule of machine swap outs to keep things fresh, and super attentive to the well-working condition of the machines. Third, a solid menu for a good variety of food and bev options. As a veggie non-drinker, I feel spoiled with an abundance of tastiness to choose from (the horchata is a house-made, darling personal vegan recipe clearly infused with love, and SUPER delicious!). And finally, the community... It is not an exaggeration to say that I've met some of the kindest and most generous folks through the weekly tournament (Howdy Partner). It is a rarity in accessibility, learning/teaching, and fun vibe compared to other scenes from what I've heard--I feel lucky to have stumbled right into it. I stay up way past my bedtime each week to participate because it is just so darn fun, connective, and informative. The WedgeHead folks have captured that lightning in a bottle that is a neighborhood spot with warmth and goodness that keeps one coming back again and again. This is the spot I immediately think to visit when I'm in a funk because I've had so many experiences of leaving in such a better head and heart space. An absolute gem!!!!! I seriously cannot say enough good things about Wedgehead. From the food, to the service, to the pinball-- this place is one of the best places in Portland for a fun evening out. The prices are super reasonable and they have an amazing selection of vegan & vegetarian menu items, but what I think really sets Wedgehead apart from other bar-cades is the service and the staff. I chose Wedgehead for a surprise birthday party for my husband and the entire process was so easy and seamless. Every person at the party was equally blown away by how special this spot is and we all left saying that we would be back. All this to say, if you're even considering visiting Wedgehead, just do it. The location is a bit difficult in some ways. There's street parking and I think they've got some arrangement with the motel across the street to give access but the intersection is kind of a mess of cars, speed racers, and some transients. But it is right down the street from Hollywood Theatre, so it's otherwise a great spot for before or after a flick. The staff have always been friendly, quick, and attentive. They also show cult classic films on the screen(s) above the bar, with subtitles on. I don't know how many times I've dropped in for a quick bite and drink, then lingered for one or more addition drinks just so I can see the end of The Running Man or something for the umpteenth time. They've got a great tap selection and cocktails here. I love the burgers. The chicken nuggets, chips and queso, basket of fries, and cactus jack burrito are good too. I really need to remember to try the double decker tacos, which are one of the few things I ever really liked from that one place that used to have Willie Nelson or a chihuahua as mascots. I suck at pinball and have no real inclination to learn how to improve but it's easy, fun, and inexpensive to buy a wristband to play unlimited games with a group of friends. My only complaint is that they used to have a sandwich on the menu that was small chunks of chicken instead of a patty/breast. I assume they removed it for logistical reasons but I'm bored by the current selection of chicken sandwiches and can't imagine ever ordering one. There are better places for chicken katsu sandwiches in town and I'm not really a fan of honey mustard or buffalo sauce. read more

Ok, so I might be bias, as I love pin ball! I'm not very good at it. I can totally blow through a few 20s playing. So imagine my surprise that I can pay 12 bucks to play pin ball unlimited !! Oh yeah!! They got old school and new school pin ball. Oh... their in house made horchata is amazing!!! I'm not a big booze drinker but the spiked adult horchata is delicious! Be careful not to drink it too fast! Oh for those of you that are non dairy, the horchata is non dairy!! You don't miss the dairy with magical elixir. We ordered some really yummy churros and some nachos. We really loved this place. We were fortunate to walk in right at 6pm. That's when it's 21 and over! Heck yeah! Big kid time! So I went scrolling through Yelp to find a burger in the neighborhood I was dog sitting in and wound up at Wedgehead. Ok, this is a pinball bar my dudes and it's all Covid safe with isolated "rooms" set up for different sized groups. Pretty cool, dim and game room-y inside, no "kid stuff" but yes to a lot of game stuff. TVs on the wall, bar in the back and a menu of finger foods and bigger stuff. AAAAANYWAY that was not what I had in mind when I showed up. Wedge? Like salad? Cheese? Idk, but the Yelp faithful said the burger was bomb and guess what? This. Burger. Is. On. Point. Simple beef patty, seasoned, 'Murican cheese, shred led and some play on the 1000 island "special sauce" nobody is mystified by anymore. Mine came with fries for like $xx so it was a meal. I could taste the toasted bun, the burger was cooked just right (mid well for a smashy plz, I believe in you), and fries were crispayyyyyy. It was messy and delish and I will come back for more. I had a good time here with my hubby who grew up loving pinball. We got our cup of quarters and tried just about everything. Everything that was working, that is. More than a couple machines were out of order. No biggy, the ones that we had access to were just right. I especially liked Middle Earth! We didn't try any food. It's pub grub and that's not usually my thing. It might be great - let us know in your review. The only reason we probably wont be back often is because we like pinball AND video games. If we're going to do a night out for gaming we'd rather go to a place with both. If you're looking for a out of the ordinary date, or have a strong urge to hit those bumpers again, I recommend this place. So this is not exactly how I initially planned my visit here. I had a voucher towards food and thought what a fun place to check out. Then covid hit and I've been waiting. My voucher was about to expire so we broke down and got take away. Ordering was easy enough, but they do add on 15% tip when ordering online. I don't like that. Tips are optional so if you're charging something extra it's a fee. We had to order over the phone anyway because of the voucher and tipped there instead. Just a heads up, but they also offer delivery over $30, just not sure what the fees are. Anyway, we got the Eddie Guerrero, which was less impressive than expected. Although at least the chicken was moist so my cats could have a bite (they really won't eat dry chicken). However, the Dangerfield was really flavourful. And not just because of the sauce. That one I would definitely recommend. We also got an order of animal fries. It was nice that they put the toppings on the side so your fries don't get totally soggy. Now that was a delicious flavor combination. Didn't really want to share those. Plus we also got a couple pieces of swag, which was really nice. Overall a decent experience, although I'm sure it would have been so much fun if they were operating as normal. read more

I've been to WH quite often. Folks are very friendly and helpful. Food is fairly standard bar fare, but my wife and I have really enjoyed their burgers, nachos and burritos. Small tap list, but reasonably curated. Their non-alcoholic mixed drinks are great. Their horchata is my fav. Great pinball selection. We have been coming here for years. We usually love it. Tonight we came I'm for our normal burgers, and just that. No booze. The front door says minors are allowed, and even though my husband and I are defiantly not minors, who ever the chick bartending was, had a very bad additive towards us not having one of our ID'S. Even after telling her we weren't getting any alcohol she was obviously upset at my husband for not having it with him. Anyway, as a restaurant server who serves alcohol, I know the law is you only need to card someone after they order alcohol, and if they look under 26. My husband is a bald beaded 36 year old, who, even if we did want alcohol, should have been allowed to get it. And like previously mentioned,, we have been regular customers here for years.. and we just wanted burgers.. We will probably not come back, especially we see the same bartender. Best find per the wife is that they have White Claws for $3.50. Lots of pinball that's for sure! Definitely a plus for me since I love me some pinball. I think every game was only $.50 which was another bonus! Cheaper games equals more game time which equals more fun! There's an atm too which is good. There's a bar that's not too big with some stools. They've got food too but I didn't take a look at the menu. They've got 2x bathrooms that are single person unisex and were really clean.
