First time having Pho & at this location. I can't believe how many people were coming in and out of this place. It was so busy yet my service was surprisingly fast. I got the beef pho like three times last week because it was the only thing that made me feel better when I was super sick & I loved it every single time. I know it aided in my recovery, the broth is just that good. Such a big disappointment. I was in the mood for a quick to-go meal for the cold weather and this is the closest pho spot near me that I can order off GrubHub. By paying over $14 for a large bowl of Pho I would expect what it is described as. A large bowl of pho. Unfortunately, this was not the case and the whole meal seemed like a small. Compared to several other pho locations I have been to this was not a size large. There was more broth than noodles and I was able to eat everything in a few bites. Not only were there not enough noodles, but they only gave me two pieces of basil leaves. The lemons were super tiny too. While I was waiting for my food I saw the portions more standard when dining in. Customers should expect the same experience and portions at takeout. It seems they were being very skimpy and not providing enough care to people who dine out. I will not be back here unless they change their consistency and portion size. read more

NOT even Phoking close to Pho... A coupon from a different service led us away from a Boss of a Pho joint (initials are VNE) to this crime against humanity. Mrs. is much more forgiving than I am about Pho as She usually orders boring Chicken so I never know if it's good or not because I crave Tendon, Tripe, Brisket, Raw cuts, and those spongey little beef balls (there ARE good ones out there). First offense: There was no discernible difference between a large and a medium/regular. A paltry amount of rice noodles, lemon, and Basil. The jalapeños looked like a child had cut them, irregular thicknesses are not helpful as that delicious berry(yes, it's a berry!) I eat breakfast lunch and dinner should not overwhelm a bite of Pho. Second Offense: The broth may as well have been Campbell's beef broth heated up in a microwave. No salt, no spices, no depth, no Soul. This one really grinds my gears as everyone who knows Pho, knows the broth is the foundation. It's what makes all the other ingredients shine. Third Offense: Temperature. This one is egregious to say the least. They didn't bother to bring it to proper temperature so there was no way it was gonna properly cook the overly tenderized bottom barrel raw beef they included. I like to see my deli cups nearly melting from the heat of a proper broth Fourth Offense: The aforementioned "beef product" was so far gone I couldn't tell if it was chuck or round (and I'm a former Butcher). It was mechanically obliterated to the point when it hit the broth, it turned to a bloody ball of snot. I'm trying to be nice here people, it was that bad. The rest of the beef ingredients were just as bad. Overcooked round I could've have made a pair of shoes if I had just ordered extra. The tendon/cartilage was just bland texture. NO TRIPE?! What gives The Pho?! And those spongey little beef balls? Not the good ones. More bland industrial sponge plant product. It could be worse though, there are industrial rubber plants kicking out those bad boys too. read more

Decided to come back and try again on a Sunday at 1pm and the place was pretty empty. Walked in and wasn't greeted, dirty dishes left on many tables. 4.25 stars My husband and I were in the area and he was in the mood for Pho. We asked a friend and they recommended this place. It's in a large shopping mall, so we found parking quite easily. First impression, it's a big open space and looks pretty clean. The server/host was quite nice and we were seated right away. There were only a few people in, as we went in late afternoon. The first thing I did was use the restroom. I was quite happy, as it was clean. However, I hate when bathrooms don't have paper towels and air dryers. Just a preference because I don't like touching the door handle once I've washed my hands. Here's what we ordered: - Beef pho - Combination appetizer plate, 2 egg rolls, 2 shrimp rolls, and 1 shrimp spring roll - Shaking Beef, came with a side of pho broth - Taro Milk Tea - The pho broth was delicious. Lots of depth in the flavor and it was unlike any broth we have had before. - The combo appetizer plate was perfect-sized. Everything was good. The shrimp rolls were super yummy as well. The spring rolls weren't the best we ever had, but they weren't terrible. - The Shaking Beef, DELISH. If you are Asian, you know what I mean by good rice. Their rice was GOOD rice. Jasmine is unmatched in my opinion. The beef was so tender and flavorful and was the perfect amount of savory and sweet. The side of pho broth was the perfect addition. - The reason I gave them 4.25 stars, is because of the Taro Milk Tea. One, she forgot to give it to us during our meal. I had assumed maybe she didn't hear me order it, so I didn't bother asking because I decided I would be okay without it. However, when my husband paid for the meal, we were charged for it. Instead of refunding it, I told her we could wait for it. Her forgetting it -.25 stars, but they also had no boba. Ugh, so I deducted another .25 stars. The reasoning for the last deduction of .25 stars was it just wasn't that good. It was too sweet, thick, and didn't really taste like taro. I don't know if we will ever be in the area again, but I would definitely give it another go and try some of their other items. Service is awful, waiter was about to take our order and then told us to wait because someone else walked in and went to help them instead. One in our party requested to have a different dish instead of the chicken pho (which had beef broth) and we could hear the waiter getting yelled aggressively. He returned with his head down saying "we can't do that" after waiting 5 minutes while overhearing the chef go ballistic, the waiter came back and said they can exchange it all of the sudden (they saw us about to leave). The Thai tea is pretty good, even without Boba (I know shame on me). Deep fried shrimp rolls were pretty darn good, hot crispy, and just as you'd expect them to be. The combo #1 was solid. Definitely not the best Phó I've had but far from the worst. The broth just needed a little hoisin and siriracha to bump it up a notch. This is one of those places with a fun name. I mean The Phó haha... Has a great name like Phó King (which is amazing btw) down in Monterey. Patrons beware! My family and I went to this restaurant, and the service was horrible. When we ordered, I noticed the menu stated there's an 18% gratuity added for parties of six or more. We split the bill -- mine included me, my wife, and two kids, and the other bill was for my brother-in-law, his girlfriend, and their child. Despite splitting the checks, we were both charged the 18% gratuity on top of the tip we already left. When I questioned it, the staff just said, "It's been our policy for three years." No effort to make it right. The food wasn't that great either. Never going here again, especially when on separate checks, they are implementing 18% gratuities. Don't waste your time. I've been here a few times, but I was most disappointed my last visit. It is a nicely decorated space, and the atmosphere The Pho is trying to create is an upscale Vietnamese restaurant. We were seated quickly, but I was disturbed to see we were surrounded by uncleared tables full of dirty dishes. The dishes at the nearby tables sat there unattended almost the entire length of my meal. The workers seemed to just ignore the dirty dishes and pretended they weren't there. We ordered the fried tofu for an appetizer. It was all wrong. The breaded coating was so thick, heavy, and overpowering. When I took a bite, it felt like I was just eating greasy fried dough with a hint of tofu. I ordered the #2 pho with filet mignon and flank. The broth is pretty flavorful, but the meat was not good quality. I didn't like how the meat was all twisted and stuck together. They also give you lemon on the side not lime, which was untraditional. My Fiancé ordered one of his favorites - the bun bo hieu. He said it was not authentic (it is supposed to be spicy and it was not), and the broth was lacking flavor. The Vietnamese coffee was $6, seriously overpriced for the quality of what you get. My friend got the shaking beef for her meal. It was tasty and the beef was tender; however, it was too small of a portion to be considered an entree. Realistically, it would have been a small appetizer to split, and I wish we had been told that so she could have ordered something else. My friend was still hungry after eating that ridiculously small portion. Our waitress was also unhelpful and apathetic when we asked her questions about the menu. Ordered to-go for two the other night and they clearly had just made it through a rush so I'll have some grace for the wait. But the floors are dirty and there's boxes of supplies visible everywhere. Never a good sign. Our egg roll appetizer was good. Nice and crispy, no complaints. The pho however was awful. Our noodles tasted old and stale, the broth has basically no flavor at all. Needed tons of add ins to be even fine. I had the beef and meatballs and the beef was fine if a bit stingy on portion but the meatballs were like eating a boiled stress ball. I was down L and was craving a good Pho noodle as it's very healing to me! My usual spot was closed, but I decided to order from here because it was open pretty late. I got the vegan pho with soft, white tofu. Let me say this is one of the cleanest broths I have ever tried, and it had the perfect amount of noodles to the vegetable ratio. Looks can be deceiving! Everyone is different - while beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, food is according to the mouth of the beholder!
