I know this location has had various restaurants here before, but I was really pleased with my visit Thursday evening! I stopped in with my partner and grabbed a seat at the bar. He got a couple of beers and I grabbed a tequila soda. The bartender was wonderful and very attentive! Our bartender, wearing two hats as our server as well, gave me a little background before asking us if we were ready to order. We tried a few appetizers since this was a shorter visit for us, but they were all delicious! I enjoy dry seasoned wings, and much in the style I was looking for, the salt and pepper wings were perfectly cooked and tasty. I also got the spring rolls and they tasted light just as I hoped they would. This had a really nice sauce paired with the spring rolls - I prefer peanut to sweet chili sauce. And finally the salt and pepper tofu bites were perfect! I like my tofu soft, but when making bites like theirs you have to use firm tofu so they don't fall apart. I think they cooked the tofu beautifully because they were intact, but still had a softness to them that forms when you reach a certain temperature. Loved it, and the ambiance was the finishing touch - still keeping a nod to the Divine Swine on the bar top even after all these years. Totally observing the Modesto vibes and I love it! The beef short ribs were tender, flavorful, and the marinade was outstanding with the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The pho broth tasted like it had been simmering for hours--it was rich, full of flavor, and exactly what great pho should be. I had a miserable day and realized I hadn't eaten anything in hours so was hangry and famished. Even though it was 91 degrees out I looked on Yelp and this place looked good. Shrimp rolls were delicious. Nothing standout about it or the sauce but I scarfed them down. Spring rolls were well fried and came with one lettuce and pickled daikon/ carrots but no mint. Pho broth was delicious as a base, once I added sauces to my liking it was fantastic! We wanted a new place to try and this place came with recommendations. The place had a great vibe very clean and live that they bring cold water with ice to the table. It has a sleek vibe. The food was really good the pho I do recommend the broth was excellent and comes with a 2 selection of any meat that is listed. I did also order some garlic rice hands down was excellent. Fantastic place for banh mi sandwiches. They use some egg spread that reminds me of a homemade mayonnaise, absolutely delicious and I am not a mayonnaise person. We've heard great reviews about this place, so our family of four decided to stop by for lunch. One of our children ordered the pho from the kids' menu. For the price and portion, we felt it was on the expensive side. I tasted the broth and, unfortunately, it wasn't to my liking. It felt like the spices were a little too heavy, and the flavors weren't as balanced as we prefer. I still prefer the pho at Noodle Palace. Our other child had the chicken tenders and fries, which were just okay--nothing particularly memorable. My husband ordered the grilled pork rice plate. The presentation was nice, but unfortunately, the grilled pork itself wasn't very good. I ordered the grilled pork banh mi. The size was good and there was a generous amount of vegetables, which I appreciated. However, the grilled pork was extremely salty, to the point that I couldn't finish the second half. On the positive side, the service was quick and adequate. Our waiter was attentive and refilled our waters several times. The ambience was also nice. Overall, our family tends to prioritize quality and flavor over presentation, so we left feeling a little disappointed with the food. That said, taste is very personal, and this is simply our experience. Waiter came with cups and a jug of lemon water which is a plus. What we ordered: Pho dac biet- flavor was ok - with a bit much of MSG Bun Bo hue- spicy noodle soup- which had the whole pork blood and pork feet- look good but there's absolutely no flavor of a BBH . Grand opening day is/was a disaster. Remember, this is your third location, so there should have been better planning. We came,waited over 30 mins before our order was taken, ordered pho, and was told it'll be at least 1 hour until pho is ready. Pho was really tasty. I definitely wish that there were more noodles in it because I felt like the portion was pretty small. But the broth tasted good and I liked the crispy onions in it. Never had that in a Pho broth before. Service could've been a bit better, our server kinda forgot about us once our food was delivered, however, another server noticed we needed something and was very attentive. Their grilled steak pho is absolutely delicious. The meat comes on the side not in the bowl already grilled. The pho is delicious without the meat or added condiments/sauces but these elevate it. It is a little pricey at $18 for the large ($16 for the small) but it's huge and filling. The place is newer ownership and clean and tidy. Service is fast and attentive throughout the meal. Great Pho restaurant. I've known them from the Stockton location, and I always have great experience here. It's great to hear they open their third location and with more items added to the menu. My ultimate favorite is Bun Bo Hue, which is spicy beef noodle soup, it's so rich in the flavor and now it's officially on the menu. They have their bar now with a variety of mocktails, beer and wine. Brandon is a great bartender, he delivers great drinks and awesome customer service. The place is super clean with great music and cozy atmosphere. They were pretty packed in their grand opening but still delivered their greatest customer service and delicious food. My first time here with my 2 sisters for dinner. We ordered 2 regular Pho and 1 large Pho and Spring Rolls and calamari is only 10 pieces is rip off. It was the pricey. We received a bowl of Pho. A regular bowl is a size of SMALL. I have a large bowl is a REGULAR bowl. The service is too busy, we had wait to ask them what we need...perhaps wait for 5 to 10 minutes. Fast service and clean restaurant. I ordered a chicken ban mi. It was good but lacked the jalapeños and possibly pate. I ordered unsweetened ice tea which wasn't any that I call ice tea. It was sweetened. I also ordered salt and pepper calamari which wasn't any ok but again lacked the flavor I'm used to. No spice or garlic and the calamari was extremely tough. The pho ga broth was flavorful and the chicken was tender and not dry. The only miss was they didn't have egg noodles (better for diabetics) for the pho soup. The waiter explained why they don't offer egg noodles which was informative and even recommended another restaurant that offers egg noodles. The addition of fried garlic was a nice touch. The restaurant was extremely busy and the kitchen was slow getting orders out which is understandable since the place was packed. The salt and pepper tofu is delicious. I would definitely order this appetizer again. The chicken banh mi sandwich was tasty and fresh. The changes made to the decor with multiple televisions and booths were a nice addition.
