Update and change of my review. It has been a week and I can't believe the poor work the girl did. 1 of my ear piercings fell out due to not being put in tight enough, luckily I found it. I double checked the rest and 2 more were not put into the post properly and I had to fix them myself (all 3 were push pin style) and 4 were placed incorrectly (using the wrong post size for the location). When I think back to it, the girl relied too much on tools to try to insert all my cartilage piercings and it took a long time. I fixed all the cartilage piercing myself which is annoying since I paid to have a professional do it, it look me less time to do it myself. But this is not why I'm so upset. The special piercing I have which I called about to make sure they worked with it, well it was put in incorrectly and fell out, jewelry lost. I have had this and the jewelry for over 10 years with no issues and this place couldn't even screw the piece back on correctly (internal screw style). Looking back, It took her forever to put it in and there was lots of poking and prodding. At one point she mentioned that she was not used to working with this style and it was a problem for her. I wish she would have mentioned this when she removed it. I wanted to like this place as the girl was very nice, but I could not go back to get things fixed. I went to another place to get my jewelry replaced. Without going into too much detail, there was a lot of irritation from the girl's attempts which lead to quick closure. The new location could tell my 10 year old piercings were done well and healed well, but the irritation was from recent trauma was an issue on my lost piercing, even my cartilage piercings were angry. They were able to fix it (lots of pain) and double checked and properly installed all my other piercings. I wish the girl would have been honest and said she did not work with these types of threading nor had much experience with this type of special piercing instead of practicing on me. I will never return to this place and do not recommend it. read more

The female piercer is a jerk, I don't know if she has some kind of ego trip or somethin because this is the first time I've met her and I noticed that all the bad reviews are ABOUT HER. I bought some jewelry for my nose and my helix and she told me "I can't help you put them on because I am booked full of appointments", there was no one waiting outside and no one inside. Putting on new jewelry takes about 1 minute. So I ended up going to another shop for them to put it on for me which took... you guessed it... about 1 minute or less. Very Nice People Running This Shop! Do you have a four kids that are nagging for piercing? No, not nose or nipple piercing..just ear piercing? The four year old wanted her ears pierced and the 12 year old wanted second piercings. After the constant nagging, I finalky agreed. They were excited until the drive over when the 12 year old started pushing the four year old's buttons and made her scared. All the crying and crying once we got there. Externally Threaded - Not recommended!! I buy my earrings from piercing shops since they TYPICALLY have superior quality jewelry. When one of my earrings fell out, I searched for a nearby professional piercing business and that is how I found The Piercing Shop. I didn't mind that their selection was limited, but I did not have a good experience on both my artistic vision and the quality of their product. I was debating between the straight bars and the hoops. I actually wanted 2 pairs of hoops but I have the tendency of switch between having both loops on one side or being symmetrical and evening out so I like having items in pairs. I understand if the business does not agree with my vision and provided their professional option, but I did not appreciate them not letting me buy what I wanted to buy. So instead of buying 2 pairs of hoops ($15/each, $60 potential sales), I was annoyed and just got one straight bar ($10) to INTEND on keeping it as a play holder. CASH ONLY! Other business will sanitize the piece, but they told me I can just take it home and put it in some mouthwash since they weren't the ones putting it in. I am so grateful I didn't let them put it on me, because when I got home I zoomed in to the purchase bar and it was EXTERNALLY THREADED!! That is HORRIFIC!! For anyone who does not know about externally threaded jewelry, it means that the spiral stuff is on the outside of the piece, accruing dirt and bacteria as you slide that end into your body. Gross!! Externally threaded piercings may damage your piercing when you put it in and take it out. Always go for the internally threaded stuff!! That being said, I don't care that they have a no exchange/no return policy. I would never put this in my body. What a waste of time and money coming here. I wish I just went out of the way to my usual spot, Outer Limits, in Costa Mesa. I guess I am bless they deterred me from buying any more of their product. read more

Well, did our research, called around and this place was the only one that was available. My wife was extremely nervous, because everyone we have known has only using a piercing gun not a NEEDLE, do your own research on the benefits of each. Got my snakebites from here about a month ago and I couldn't be happier with them!! Making an appointment was easy enough (just calling in to ask their price and decided to make the appointment), and they were able to get me in within the next day. John let me take a look at the placements in the mirror before actually piercing, giving advice as to what would be better in the long term. The piercing itself was very clean, everything well sanitized, with each needle being brand new and sterile. Just got my right tear drop dermal anchor Saturday, March 25th I was very nervous, but Craig and the one female crew there were very sweet and comforting. Craig explained the whole process, we all had great laughs and I knew this spot would be my piercing home. Initially thought this went well , don't get me wrong the piercer Lera or Leta was super nice and patient . But for my septum she mentioned she can only use specific jewelry which was weird this was my 4th time getting my septum and never heard of this but I went with it, she pierced my belly button and it was a bit too high i got another piercers advice and he said usually they pierce a bit higher because when heals it will show more but even he admit where she pierced was too high , after 2 days the ball on my jewelry fell ( keep in mind I've being super careful, crop tops cleaning it and no blanket no shirt no sleeping on my tummy being careful to stay away from pets) and it became red . Burns now and has white stuff , I do wanna say I am 100% aware aftercare is on the client but still a little doubtful of piercing process. Not only that but I can never get a hold of this shop. Always close even though says open hours I've called shop literally 21 times within the week and no answer no call back and voicemail message box is full. I even emailed them to see if I can make an appointment lol Customer service on site perfect Being able to reach them : no bueno And piercing itself I give benefit of the doubt since it getting infected could have been on me. Upon reading the reviews and seeing pictures of John's work with children, it helped in the decision of choosing The Piercing Shop. I had called the day before and spoke with the front desk and she was very helpful and answered all our questions and she was very nice. We did arrive before opening and my daughter was a little nervous, but when she let her pick out what earing to choose from she calmed down and was excited to have them done. I was asked to watch as he prepared his instruments to be used, everything was clean and sterile. He then instructed her how to sit and explained to her what was going to happen and showed her what was going to be used. Here is her explanation of what happened: "He said it might hurt a little but it is not that bad it doesn't hurt that much. He will clean it after and it won't hurt that much but you have to take care of it and you have to sign a permission slip and it did not hurt that much so bad. You can pick the color of your earrings. The man was so nice to me and other kids I think? And he is very gentle." She did feel the first one and the second one hurted a little more, but was no more than a wince. She was waiting for him to finish, but before she could ask he was done. We then received post instructions how to keep them clean and how to wash them. She did remember talking to me and that she did do karate and told us how to protect her ears from sparring. She did instruct us what cleaning products to use and did have it available for purchase (very reasonable priced). Altogether from the time we walked into the door, provided ID, filled out the forms, sat on table, got post instructions and paid, it was maybe 15 mins. If you are thinking of getting your child's ears pierced, I would definitely recommend asking for John, he was so gentle and nice. read more
