They were out of the soup that was supposed to go with it so I got double potato dumplings which were ok. My friend got the Wally which is like a sampler plater. My wife had the chicken schnitzel, perfectly prepared (not greasy) with mashed potatoes and vegetable medley. Finished with palacinke (Croatian crepes) filled with rose hip jam. The staff are very friendly and help create a homey atmosphere. It was hard to choose what to eat, as the menu items all looked amazing, but I went with the pork schnitzel with paprikas sauce, two eggs, home fries, and toast and a side of smoked Slovenian sausage. I wanted to try the crêpes, but was too full. The portions are hearty and very reasonably priced. Everything was delicious. The pork schnitzel was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. The paprikas sauce was a nice accompaniment. The home fries are homemade and come fried on the griddle so the outside is crispy and the inside light and fluffy. The coffee was delicious. Very rich, mellow flavor. I'll definitely be back. Those European pastries beckon!

Do not let the strip mall location deter you. This homestyle restaurant and bakery was a great place to meet. Melissa, our server was very friendly and helpful. We all ordered food that we enjoyed. Only two boxes, but mostly, because we wanted to save room for dessert. I had the Hungarian sampler plate with cabbage and noodles, chicken paprikas, stuffed cabbage and cucumber salad as a side. Every part of it was delicious. My husband ordered the polish sampler with pierogis, Slovenian sausage and cabbage and noodles, he also liked it very much much. We bought a cheese strudel to go that we will have for Mother's Day breakfast with coffee at home. Definitely recommend! Would like to go back if I'm in this part of town again! PS- they only take cash or check. Plan ahead.

The prices seem reasonable. The food we received, although the taste seemed acceptable, everything was cold. Not lukewarm, but cold. I wish I could say that service was friendly, but I cannot. The only friendly person we encountered was the young lady refilling coffee- which she did an excellent job doing. When a person came to remove our plates- which basically looked nearly as full when we received, she never questioned if everything was good. We told our server as she handed us our checks about the food and she really didn't have any response. Hope they improve.

I chose the poppyseed dressing, though I probably should have tried the hot bacon dressing instead that was suggested on the menu. Overall, it was just okay for me. The salad was a little bland, not very plentiful, and smaller than expected for nearly $20. The chicken was somewhat dry, and the peaches seemed like they may have been canned rather than fresh. It wasn't terrible, but it's not something I would order again. We often order the chicken paprikash to go and that's outstanding, so I will continue returning for that but the salad is something I wouldn't get again.

We all visited Cafe Blanc for the first time and loved our experience especially the large (free) parking lot. We sat on the 2nd level towards the back. QUICK REVIEW (read this if you don't want to read this whole review): Try the potato pancakes. Great food and service. Slightly more elevated cafe. Busy during peak morning/afternoon hours and most likely less busy in the evenings. I have not been in the evening yet. Free parking lot and free wifi. FOOD - there are lots of food options to choose from for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have sandwiches, salads, pizza, and pastries. I arrived around 10:20am so I wanted breakfast. I read that the croissants are okay but I haven't tried them. I ordered the potato pancakes, blueberry hibiscus tea (hot) as a dine-in order plus a slice of almond cake as a takeout order. The potato pancakes ($19) was delicious. It comes with 3 thick potato pancakes topped an egg on the center and with bacon bits spread all over. The potato pancakes also come with sour cream on the side which I didn't realize so I moved that to the side of my plate because I don't like or eat sour cream. I would order the potato pancakes again as a savory breakfast item but $19 is a little steep for the price. The blueberry hibiscus tea ($4) was a refreshing drink served on a mug. If you enjoy the combination of white tea leaves, rose hips, natural blueberry, and hibiscus then this tea is for you. I also ordered an almond cake slice ($6) but to go. The almond cake is a light and tasty cake with sliced/shaved almonds on top. SERVICE -- Friendly. Me and one of the shorter female employee had a nice laugh when I went down later in the day to order an almond cake. They started getting busy when I arrived after 10am on a weekday but I was able to walk right up to the front counter to order. The buzzer handed to me buzzed probably within 15-20 mins and I went down to get my order. I believe the tea that I ordered was ready first. Overall, I'll definitely be back. Prices are higher than a traditional cafe. The plus is that there is free wifi so it's a perfect spot to work on your laptop. The tables are big and the chairs are comfortable. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 99/250 total reviews in 2026 - 940 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 27 May 2026

I wasn't sure where I wanted to go to breakfast this morning because the City of Willoughby (in…read moretheir infinite wisdom) decided to block off the entirety of downtown for a festival. So no one could reach the downtown businesses. So on my way home I came across "Cafe Europa and Bistro" in the Pineridge shopping plaza. It's a small storefront in the middle of the plaza, run by a European family - husband, wife, and son. When I walked in I was a bit surprised that the place was entirely empty because the parking lot was nearly full. The son greeted me warmly and told me to choose any table. He brought me water (spring water) and a menu. We chatted a little. I read the short, very to the point, breakfast menu. And settled on the "Healthy Breakfast". The young man was exceedingly friendly and kept up a running conversation the entire time. His mother was in the kitchen preparing my breakfast. And the entire thing took on a surreal feeling as if I was in the kitchen of their home as a guest. A marvelously fresh breakfast appeared very shortly thereafter and I began my breakfast, as the running conversation (admittedly a bit one sided) continued. An oversized mug of excellent coffee appeared quickly that really was excellent. Time flew by and before I knew it I was reading to leave. The young man asked if I would like a ginger shot, on the house before I left. I thanked him but said no. I paid my $16 bill and after a few pleasantries, departed. All in all it was an unusual experience. Excellent food, good service, nice people... but maybe a little too personal... maybe? I don't know. It was just different. I guess I would just say you should give it a try and see what you think.
